We are going in October, and will only have a 1/2 day at AK, our arrival day.

There are 3 things we want to accomplish before our 4:35 Tusker House reservation -

Kali River Rapids
Kilmanjaro Safaris
Festival of the Lion King

I have a FP for Festival of the Lion King for 5:30 - 5:50. I tried to get an earlier time, but we prob won't even get to the park before 1pm, and there wasn't anything that fit that criteria.

Would I be able to get into another time slot without a FP+? I was shocked to see them all go.

Also, 4:35 dinner at Tusker House - think I could get to Festival of the Lion King by 5:50?

FOTLK is right behind Tusker House, you could make the FP you currently have. Maybe tight but doable IMO

Good thing about TH is it's a buffet so you eat at your own pace. We've always been in and out in 45-60 min but we go for breakfast usually, may be different

fast pass is nice to have as it gets you in the front easier and more chance of getting to participate if any in your group would be interested

Being in the front is not an advantage in my book. I think you can see the show better from up high. I don't think a FP is needed.
