I saw this on Instagram this morning and it made me chuckle.

I still have Disney Dollars here (I keep one in my wallet), I still call HS “MGM Studios“ and a bonus thing that shows my age….I still call Disney Springs “Disney Village“ or “The Village” (I think DD20 does too sometimes since she hears my DH and I say it).

So…..Who’s with me?

I'm old but no I don't do that. Admittedly, it did take me a LONG time to switch from Disney's MGM Studios to HS, but I'm there now.

i still have a book of disneyland a-e tickets as well as a wdw non expiring ticket that was bought for ds (almost 27 now) when he was a child. there's still one day left on that ticket-he used a few days on it a handful of years back so i hung on to it in the event we ever return.

Well I've been to it many more times when it was MGM than HS so yeah I still think of it as MGM Studios or just studios. getting rid of the great movie ride changed that a bit I guess.

And yeah I still have a bunch of Disney Dollars that I got a gifts and/or inherited - never made sense to me to buy them - similar to gift cards - they sit in a drawer and you forget about them for years.

I think a big part of the gift card business is assuming people will loose them or forget about them.

We never got the Disney Dollars but I do still slip up more often then not and call it MGM and DS Downtown Disney. I miss MGM by the way, I think it was much better.

I have a few Disney Dollars I received as gifts. I still think of the park as MGM sometimes, but generally just call it the Studios these days. I remember the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, but it’s had so many name changes that now I just call it the Springs most of the time. I do get confused for a second or two when there are news stories about DTD in California and think they are referring to Florida.

Yeah - what I really miss is Pleasure Island and the Adventurers club (not to hijack the thread - sorry)
You’re fine and I completely agree!
Now that my DD20 is getting close to 21, I’m really missing it more - I would have loved to go there with her - we’d have a blast. That was such a fun fun fun place!

There are likely a few Disney dollars somewhere around here. I've tried to keep current with the nomenclature at Springs and Studios.

I got a $1 one for my son and daughter on their first visit in 1987. They still have them and actually brought them on our October 2022 family trip but couldn’t bring themselves to spend them.

And yes, it will always be MGM Studios to us!!

Have some dollars still. Check on eBay some of them are selling for a pretty good premium. On the other hand I have embraced HS and DS as the new names. Maybe because I go so often. Or maybe because I use Uber frequently and they might not know what I’m talking about

No Dollars here.

I do think in terms of MGM and Downtown Disney but generally will force myself to refer to the new names here to prevent confusion for others who are newer to the the world of Disney World
