Ferrytale Wishes cruise...

Thanks for the recent reviews. I've been hesitant to book this, but am still considering it for December. I think my husband would really get a kick out of it and we've been to Disney so many times that it's nice to try something new. We don't have kids and both drink, so while I do think it's overpriced, it may be worth it as our "splurge" for this trip.

I am glad to read some reviews from people who enjoyed the experience. I am considering it. We have enjoyed firework cruises of all kinds, and think we would like this one.

I've also been considering this, but, based on reviews, I'm probably going to cancel. We did a private Wishes cruise a few years ago and would do that again in a heartbeat! Plus, if you have a latger group, it could be significantly cheaper.

We also really enjoyed the cruise. My kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt, the sightseeing and the desserts. And the view for the fireworks are amazing. My son is autistic and usually can't stand being anywhere fireworks, so this was the perfect distance for him to actually enjoy them. This was the first fireworks show he has ever been able to tolerate from start to finish!

Where do you find info for the private wishes cruise?

Here's the link for the private cruises:

You have to call to book. We did the Illuminations one in November and it was about $372. We ordered chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling cider from the Yacht Club private dining. Soda, chips, and cookies were provided in the cruise cost. Even with the insanely expensive chocolate covered strawberries it was less expensive for 7 people than the Ferrytale Wishes cruise. Keep in mind, we did see Illuminations instead of Wishes but I'm fairly certain the cost is the same.

Hope this helps, sorry it's a bit off topic!

My DH and I did the Ferrytale Wishes cruise in October and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a bit pricey but it isn't something we would do every trip. We thought it was so much better than the Dessert Party at the MK. We thought the desserts were very good and we also enjoyed the wine. The view of the fireworks can't be beat.

Your reviews helped my family and I decide to do something else on our recent visit! It was between this and my husband and I going to Disney Springs while having the kids use Lilo's Playhouse. We decided on the latter and could be happier! We had a romantic date night for the first time in ages and our kids had a blast with their new programs :) :) Perhaps this cruise experience will improve between now and our next visit. If you have kids between 3-12 and you are looking for something unique to do for them + get some alone time with your significant other, I highly recommend using the kids clubs!!!

We had the chance to do this on our trip in November. While we did enjoy the desserts and wishes show, it was NOT worth the price.

We did this last week and I'm glad we did, but I don't think I would do it again anytime soon. We go to Disney fairly frequently, so it was nice to experience something new. The view of the fireworks was spectacular (Holiday Wishes). The desserts were nothing extraordinary, but we enjoyed them and also filled up on the cheese/bread/fruit that they put out. They were very generous with the wine pours, ice cream bars, etc. Unfortunately, there's only so many desserts you can eat:) People crowded around the food tables as soon as we boarded, but it thinned out VERY quickly and the the food was constantly replenished. There's more time than you think, so don't feel rushed when you first get on the boat.

The cast members were very friendly and it was a fun atmosphere all around. They offered balloons and ice cream on our way off the boat. It was nice that they provided direct bus transportation from the TTC. We went to 3 different resorts and it took a very long time to get back, but it was nice to sit back and relax. I'm sure it would have taken even longer to get on the monorail to MK and wait for a bus there.

It's definitely overpriced, but we enjoyed ourselves and are glad we did it once.

We did this on Thanksgiving week and really enjoyed it. No, it's not really an experience for kids, and there weren't many children on the boat. We were a party of 4 adults and really enjoyed the drinks and desserts. Probably did not eat and drink enough to get our money's worth, but the experience was special and different, and the view of the fireworks was amazing. We were given special pins and free light-up necklaces before boarding, which was a nice touch.

One thing that sounded awesome that turned out not to be: they told us we'd have a special dedicated bus back to our resort from the TTC after the cruise so that we wouldn't have to make a connection at MK first. But... Our bus stopped at 4-5 other resorts before finally getting us to back to Pop that night. It took an hour! The idea was nice but it just wasn't very efficient.

Hi Everyone...sorry to resurrect an older thread, but thinking of doing this cruise as one of the special events for our dad's 80th birthday week of celebrations!

Anyways, I heard rumors that you can use a TS-credit from the DDP for it...does anyone know if that is true? Does seem to be quite a bit of money...especially if half the party doesn't drink...but thought it would be fun not being in the middle of thousand of other people to watch the fireworks.

And yes, we are doing California Grill and watching the fireworks from there on another evening.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can't use a TS credit for the cruise. They make you pay upfront when you book it and they don't ask if you are on the dining plan.

As an alternative, I would consider heading over to the Poly and sitting at Trader Sam's outdoor patio for drinks and apps. For far, far less you will get better drinks, better food, a chair and music piped in for the fireworks. I haven't done this dessert party, but I've done two others and I can say, they are not worth the price.
