Ferb, I know What We're Going to Do Today! - Updated 9/30

I'm glad the commute was great! On day, I will stay at the Boardwalk. Well, stay at each place. LOL!! :rotfl:

I'm sorry about your friend. That would ahve drove me nuts! Usually, I'm alot like you, that I don't want to point anytihng out, but this last trip, with my BFF and goddaughter coming for the day, I just flat-out got frustrated. I didn't yell or anything, but basically said make-up your mind. I did give you tons of info the weeks before. Thankfully, we both worked it out and we are usually sympatico with each other.

On another night, we went to Jellyrolls - myself, BFF and her mom. We had a GREAT time. We are planning it for the next trip. :goodvibes I did get yelled at for taking photos in there. I actually laughed about it, the guy looked offended. It really was hysterical! Maybe they thought, I would sell the images to the Russians? :rotfl:

They really yelled at you for taking pictures? Don't they know it's Disney? :lmao:

I was close to hitting that point with my friend, but not quite. On our next day I started getting aggravated with a completely different issue. Took my mind off of it I guess. ;)

This day it was the Carribean Beach Resort bus that showed up first.

YAY!!!!

My friend did not. Somehow I never knew that my friend finds World Showcase dull and boring since it doesn't have many rides. We started to do a little bit of shopping, but I found it hard to ignore the fact that my friend wasn't really into it. I find it hard to shop with a shadow, and I think my friend was a bit bored so she didn't leave me side. After a little while it started driving me a bit crazy and I just gave up. We didn't even step foot into a few of the pavillions. :sad2: This was not helping my mood any, and I was trying to keep myself from getting too miserable. She never really said anything, but you can always tell when the people with you aren't really into what they are doing. I could tell, and it took all the enjoyment of pavillion hopping away from me.

Next time call me. I'll spend an ENTIRE DAY in WS poking around and shopping...and eating.

;)

It was every bit as good as I had been reading about on the boards. I can't wait to have another one of these next trip.

Is that the Grey Goose slushie? I've never had one as I'm not a huge fan of vodka, but I admit, it does look good!

The Canada pavillion was looking pretty festive too, even with it being dark -

After that we headed over to Mexico again for our dinner. Sorry, no porn. It is so dark in there I didn't even try. The menu was completely different from my last visit. I had a delicious Mahi Mahi that was to die for.

I checked out the menu after the renovation and was excited to see my Filete Montuleno still on the Dinner menu. I'm curious...what did you used to have? I have a fierce love for all things Mexican! (Except tequila LOL!)

That's when I learned to absolute best park of staying at the Boardwalk. The wonderful "commute" home from Epcot.

Why I used to LOVE staying at the Swolphin. :D
Well, that and the $69 room rate I got.

I don't have any pictures from our evening after this, but we did head out to Jellyrolls after stopping off in the room. We had a fantastic time. Jellyrolls was a blast.

If the BF and I end up in the World this fall, this is actually one of his requests! Glad to hear it was such a good time!

I hate to say it Crissy, but I think I'd think seriously about making the touring rules a little more clear next time you go with her. She's really bringing you down, and I hate to see your precious touring time get squashed so many times.

OK, thanks! for the heads up on the no picture thing at jellyrolls. What's with that??! Is it seriously a rule?? Weird!

OK, for my run... which reminds me to ask you about your foot and your lung/bronchitis thing. Everything getting better??

That sounds like a plan! Maybe before next year's Wine and Dine. ;)

It was called something like filetes de punenta or something like that. A bit spicy - so good. The Mahi Mahi I had was excellent though. I'm not a huge seafood fan, but I do love Mahi Mahi so I was happy. I love Mexican food too. Makes me a bit sad I'll be missing it on my next trip.

The location completely spoiled me. Now I don't want to stay anywhere else but one of those hotels over there. It works perfectly since most of my time is usually spent at DHS or Epcot.

It had been one of my friend's requets for this trip. I'm so glad that we squeezed it in to our plans. The only thing I wish is that they served some kind of appetizer food or something, especially when your drinking. The only food they had in there was popcorn that was help yourself. They don't need anything fancy, but a little something would have been nice.

I don't know what happended this trip. When I went with her back in 2007 we didn't have any of these issues. That's why I was so shocked that I had do clue that she found World Showcase boring. Same thing with the togetherness. This is a friend who has travelled to Europe by herself, yet I could barely get a few minutes to myself on this trip.

I think part of my problem was that I had never fully reconciled to myself that this was no longer the solo trip I had been craving. I thought I'd be able to work in more alone time than I did. I don't think until I got there, I realized how much I really wanted that solo time.

OK, for my run... which reminds me to ask you about your foot and your lung/bronchitis thing. Everything getting better??

Just about! :) I finally was able to sleep lying flat again 2 days this week without having a massive coughing fit. Only for a few hours, but better than my trying to sleep in a sitting position. I've been kicking back with a half glass of wine after dinner and I think it's really been helping to make me a bit sleepier.

I went back to Zumba class last weekend, and it went well, so I'm hoping to return to training tomorrow. I'm feeling woefully behind though after all the foot and lung issues. I'm hoping I'll be able to be ready for the 10K I'm supposed to be doing in June, otherwise I'll be walking most of it.

I'm going to be upfront about this day, and just admit right off that it was by far my worst day at Disney ever. While it had a few good moments, overall it was one of those days that was just destined to go bad. I had hit the proverbial wall, and was running on fumes anyways at this point in the week. Things on this trip hadn't really been turning out the way I had been expecting, and it was wearing on me a bit. I guess that's what over-planning will do to you. The more my plans started to unravel, the more my temperment started to turn ugly. I can't express enough how much this isn't really like me. I don't know what was wrong with me this trip, but to start to fall apart like this is completely out of character for me. I am normally the most even kieled person you'll ever meet. I give my BFF credit for putting up with me this day, because I wouldn't have wanted to be hanging out with me this day. :scared:

The day started off fairly well with another quick CL breakfast out on the balcony. I got a bit smarter this morning and got some granola so I could mix up my own yogurt parfait. I never can get enough of the fresh fruit either.

This was my second no-park day. It was also supposed to be my second solo morning. Key words there being "supposed to". When I had originally invited my friend along on my solo trip I had told her that I was planning on keeping two solo mornings. The day of my spa treatment and this one. My plan had been to do some exploring early in the morning, and then hang out by the pool until it was time to get ready to go to MVMCP. I had told her this from the beginning, but once we were down in Disney she was asking what the plan was for the day. :confused:She hadn't made any plans for herself, so she was going to tag-along with me for the morning. :headache: I tried suggesting a few other options for her, but nope she wanted to come along for my exploration. I wish I could be the person who could be really honest and been able to tell her that I really wanted to alone for a few hours, but that's just not me.

Strike one for the day, my solitary morning was gone. A few more strikes still to go.

I got really behind on your TR, but finally caught up on your last few updates. I completely understand how you feel about needing some alone time. I can see how you reached your turning point. Sometimes its hard to want to please everybody and its hard when your efforts go unrecognized.
I know that I need to have some down time when I travel with other people. Even a few hours can recharge your batteries and improve your outlook.

On a lighter note - I love your breakfast on the balcony and your tied dyed mickey shirt is awesome,

I don't even know what to say about that one......

Just wait. My day just got more and more annoying as it went on. At least nothing else really had to do with my friend.

Breakfast on the balcony was one of my favorite moments of the trip. Always so relaxing. My brother and SIL bought the tie dyes for our family trip last year. I love them. I always get alot of attention at Disney wearing it.

I'm still baffled by traveling with my friend this year. We've never had any problems traveling together before this trip.

Oh no!!! I am so sorry your solo morning was already going up in flames -- that probably had something to do with your bad mood -- I know sometimes I just need to be all by myself to regroup!

It did start me off in the wrong mood, and it just got worse from there. I guess I really don't handle changes in my plans very well.

I had a feeling that there was more :headache: to come. I'm so sorry!! I'm interested in finding out what the various sources of the frustrations were.

Once we were done with breakfast we set off from the Boardwalk to make a counter-clockwise walk around the lake checking out the resorts along the way.

So far so good. As we set out the day was a bit cold, but the sun was out.

That however didn't last very long. By the time we got closer to the Beach Club, it was looking far darker and more ominous out. :scared1:

So far the rain was holding off, but it wasn't looking too promising. Our first stop was the Beach Club. The grounds outside were so pretty and welcoming. :hippie:

I can't wait for this to be my home away from home my next trip!

The pointsettas were really pretty around the grounds.

My friend and I both thought the Beach Club had the best Christmas decorations of all the resorts. (The Grand Floridian was second on our list).

I loved the Beachy theme of the tree.

A close up view of the ornaments. Loved them!

The rest of the Christmas decorations around the Beach Club. The gingerbread carousel was amazing.

As if the carousel wasn't enough, there was a gingerbread castle with Snow White on one side, and Belle on the other, and a woodsy house for Chip and Dale.

We did a bit more poking around at the Beach Club before heading out to walk over to the Yacht Club. The skys looked like they were going to open up at any moment, and we hadn't been smart enough to take our rain gear with us on our walk.

That carousel at the Beach Club is simply amazing! I can't wait until the day I get to stay there.

So far, so good, but I'll bet those rain clouds are going to pull and Eyeore on you two- Umm.... no rain gear and all. :rolleyes1

But this walk certainly had to be a bright spot in your day- everything looks so fresh and pretty! I love poinsettas and decorating with them. I'll bet it was breath-taking!

Beach Club is very pretty decorated for Christmas. I hope I get to stay there someday!

Eek about the weather! Hope the rain holds off!
