Sorry if this is TMI!! ;) Ladies, I am curious if you use name brand or store brand tampons. I've used store brand unless I have a good coupon, but now that 13 yo dd uses them, she insists that the store brands are not as absorbant. Do you agree?? :confused3

I use pads and I love Always brand I have tried store brand and they are just not as good.:confused3

store brand all the way...but I like the generic top of the generic line multi pack. If it was anything else, I would skimp on the name brand(variety, packaging) but buy the name brand.

I use name brand only. I accidentally bought a pack of CVS brand tampons once, they were not absorbant.

Sorry for the TMI, but my "friend" is usually so heavy that I need to wear both a tampon and pad. I ALWAYS buy walmart brand pads and ALWAYS buy Playtex SUPER PLUS absorbent tampons.

I've tried Tampax brand. BLECH. Didn't like them. And I've never tried the store brand. I just can't take the chance that they won't hold.

I have tried the store brand and wanted to love them, but the adhesive would just stick to itself and then wouldn't position right. I buy generic everything, but for the extra 3.00 a month it is worth it, plus it helps keep undies and clothes looking better, so saves money in detergent and ruined items! (sorry if TMI)

Name brand!!! I am much more comfortable tampax. They expand side to side while most store brands just get longer OUCH!!

I can use name brand unless I have a coupon. My daughters however want a specific brand. I say in that case buy your own. They are both over 18 and have a job,

I agree... has to be tampax. I have tried store brand and they just didn't work as well. They seemed smaller.

This and contact solution is one area that I will not buy brand name in...

I use a large chain drugstore brand that's exacly like tampax( even the wrapper looks like it!) I used no name night pads after having a baby because I went though tons and the night ones you don't get many.

Definitely playtex for tampons- the store ones (and tampax, to me) just plain hurt, so obviously I won't use them. Pads I'm fine with the generic brand if I have to though I prefer Always.

definitely playtex for tampons and always for pads... My 14 year old niece is using always and stayfree so I try to keep a good supply on hand for her.

It would depend on your personal needs . . . I've always been "heavy", and OB is "placed" more exactly than applicator brands, and it expands sideways, never lengthways, so there is never a leak--I will not compromise on this "fit"!!! But everyone's body is different!!! There may be store brands that are just as good as your preferred name brand. But, honestly, is the difference between store brand and name brand more than $5 per month??? Personally, I'm willing to fore-go a fast food meal each month for my favorite . . . Many things I can and will compromise on (I shop at Aldi's so virtually nothing is a major name brand), but NOT THIS (for my particular needs) . . .

Kotex overnight pads -- I need them 26 days of the month (GYN appt. Tuesday....), and it's the only brand I can count on.

I like Playtex and Always but have on occassion bought store brands. I only buy them a few times a year since I only use them as back up. I use cloth most of the time.
