If you're like me, you know that (particularly in WDW) atmosphere can be just as important as the food quality and service. I find that my experience is often enhanced by where I am seated. I was hoping we might use this thread to share with others what the best (and/or worst) tables to request are at our favorite restaurants, and why. For example, some tables have a better view, have more privacy, or are just more fun. I will get us started:

San Angel Inn:
Best: waterside, where you can watch the Gran Fiesta boats go by
Worst: off to the side, I think even down a few steps, with a big wall blocking your view of the volcano

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater:
Best: we greatly perfer the little two seater rows, where you are actually sitting in a car facing the screen popcorn::
(as opposed to the 'normal' tables with a car front kind of stuck on - but I can see where a larger party might prefer these).

Anyone else have favorite tables to share?

What's your favorite place to sit in Jiko? By the window, at "the cooking place" or somewhere else?

Best at Artist Point - the corner window.
Best at Yachtsman, a window table in the rounded section.
Best at R&C, on the patio
Best at LeCellier - no such thing
Best at B&C - a booth
Best at Olivia's in the separate room, or a booth
Best at Kona, near the railing but not next to the entrance
Best at Teppanyaki, on the ends of the table (rather than the long side)
Best at SanAngel, along the water
Best at Cosmic Ray's, in the room with Sonny Eclipse
Best at Jiko, near the cooking place
Best at Concourse, away from CM's
Best at CM's, along the front (of the Contemporary) wall
Best at 'Ohana, in the back left corner (unless you want to see the coconut race stuff)

I love the cooking place at Jiko. The chefs give you tastes of stuff.

I don't think I'm really interested in picking a table. If I have my heart set on a certain area of a restaurant, if I want it I will probably have to wait for it (with the exception of the cooking place, V&As chefs table which you have to reserve, and the open kitchen bars in some other restaurants). I'd rather get at the food.

I liked the car at Sci Fi when we went this week, not much leg room though since we were in the "back seat."

We had a good table at the Plaza in MK on Thursday, We were a party of three that time and there was a great table in a corner. We were out of the traffic pattern for waitresses and very far from any other table. I snared the seat facing the windows so I had the best view out.

One last one. . . Friday before last I made a reservation that afternoon for 8:45 pm at Nine Dragons in Epcot. We were seated where we could see the fireworks when they started at 9 pm. Great meal, great view, great night.

Ohana, main room, table for 3 along the windows with a view of the castle.

I just about cried when the host brought us to our table. It was perfect!

California Grill-a window table of course, but next best is a table in the Wine Room.
At FF or Citrico's we like to be right in front of the open kitchen, so we can watch the Chef's at work

Chefs de France-next to the window where you can watch the goings on outside-at lunch time you may get to watch the show that involves the balancing chairs and the "tourist".

I would generally agree with you - I wouldn't normally want to wait a long time, after all there's not usually any truly horrible seats at Disney. However, I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. We usually travel off-peak, and we eat later than those with kids, so often there are multiple tables available. The CMs always seem happy to be able to fulfill a request (one of the things I  about WDW!)

Thanks everybody for all the great tips (and for making this newbie's first new thread a success :goodvibes )! These are exactly what I was looking for. Not only great tables, but learning other things about the restaurants, like I didn't know you could see the fireworks from Nine Dragons, I didn't know FF & Citrico's had an open kitchen, etc!

In October, I will definitely be asking for the cooking place at Jiko, and the wine room at CG if all the window seats are taken.

Keep 'em coming!
