OK, this is insane. My youngest cat was diagnosed with feline ACNE. I had no idea cats could get acne. The vet said to watch it for a while before he treats it, but I think it itches her.

Anyone's cat have this? Proactive Solution for cats? ;)

I hear ya! I mean, I spend enough on anti-acne gunk for my teenager, I refuse to take my cat to a dermatologist - I think her self-esteem will be OK. :teeth:

I once had a dog that had a huge pimple above his lip. I can't tell you how much I had to resist popping that sucker. It went away on it's own, thank goodness. :dog2:

Maybe your cat has been hitting the Hershey bars?

No Hershey bars, but she does have a thing for french fries. ;)

My cat has feline acne. It looks like she has blackheads all over her chin. The vet gave me a bottle of stuff to wipe her down with, and it did work. She was of course irritated with the cleaning--not the acne. So I stopped doing it. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it.

Our dog had acne - a chocolate lab - on his snout. Crazy.

Have no idea what to tell you. I'd rub a bit of clearisil though

You have to be careful with Feline acne. Monitor is closely or it could get infected and develop into an abcess. Over the summer my male cat got a zit that ballooned on his chin. Most likely it was due to the heat. I gently cleaned it. Occasionally dabbed it with peroxide and applied polysporin to prevent an infection. Thankfully it went away.

Finally I've heard of someone else's cat getting it!

Our DF (Dear Feline) developed a small dark spot on her white chin. It gradually grew and when I rubbed it, I noticed small specks coming off.

I took her to the vet and he said she had feline acne. The acne made her itch and what was coming off was dried blood caused by a cut from her scratching. We too had the gel stuff to put on her. She got a little annoyed but it was no big deal. It worked like a charm!
