Fees for local calls from resorts?

I would like to bring my laptop along to check my e-mail and I really can't justify paying $10 per day to do so. My internet provider has several numbers listed for the Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista and Orlando areas. Are these local calls from the All Star resorts and is there a fee for local calls?
Thanks!

Disney used to charge 75 cents for local calls, but that was discontinued a while ago. Now there is no charge. I have taken my laptop and used a dial up connection to check email and do some surfing, and had no problems.

You have to set your laptop up to dial 9, the area code, and the phone number. I would probably use the Orlando number, or the LBV number to be sure it won't be long distance. So long as you don't have to dial a 1 before the area code it won't be long distance. If it tries to dial and the call doesn't go through without a 1, try a different number.

It won't be as fast as high speed, but you can do all the basics.

I would double check with the front desk. Many hotels have time limits on local calls, go over and there are additional charges. I don't know if that's the case with Disney but it is with Hilton.

I do know I was on for about an hour and a half one time, and still no charge. Most of the time I was on less than 30 minutes. Of course, everything is always subject to change.

Please be aware that not all 407 number are considered local. For instance, I live near WDW. If I call some areas of Kissimmee, it is considered long distance even though it is still a 407 area code. Make sure you are using the right number or you could end up with a large long distance bill.

Check with the front desk to find out if the call is local or a toll call.

Thanks, that is what I was concerned about. None of the access numbers listed with the internet provider have the same prefix, after the 407 area code, as the one listed for ASSports. Do you have any idea which prefixes are considered local?

Check with the front desk to find out if the call is local or a toll call.

Will the front desk have a list of prefixes that are considered local? The provider's list shows access numbers in the area code (407) with numbers beginning with 557, 368, 842, 367 and 479.
