Feeling really nervous x

There are more specialised people to diagnose him who actually know the condition in more detail. You could look on the internet for someone who deals with asd, in your area. Your doctor maybe able to give advice on who to contact. As a mum you know when something isn't quite right, don't take one assessment as being the final answer!

Ooops sorry if i sound pushy, i know that people have to push to get the help the answers and help they need.

we have the leading asd specialist in our area - so many people cant believe she saw us so quickly and she is fantastic !! Problem is she doesnt do the assessments as she says she is not impartial enough so a ed psych has gone in to do this assessment in school. The biggest problem with it is thatthe school are fighting that he is not on the spectrum so surely anything theys ay is not really impartial.
Our psychologist herself said to me today she was hsocked by the eds psych findings ???
I have a meeting with her on Tues and am in the middle of putting together a case of why I believe ds has aspergers. I have just looked up syptoms again on the net to refresh my memory as to why we started this so many years ago and every single syptom is my son except he does give eye contact. That has left me even more confused as to how it cannot be seen by a specialist ???

every AS is different , there are different degrees of it. my son gives eye contact! he went through normal school, and then 6th form then onto university. other AS kids wouldnt cope doing that and may need more help with social skills, life skills etc.
Have a look at Tony Atwoods book, you may be able to get hold of it at the library- he is an AS specialist and his book will give you more of an incite as to whether your child has this condition or not. google his name brings up loads of info!!
