hey everyone...did/do you all constantly email your wedding planner....or did you pretty much get everything settled at the planning session? I'm so nervous about how things are going to get done...I know that the planners are great, but I guess I just don't know when I'm supposed to be doing certain things...like booking my room, buying favors, picking music, etc...did anyone else feel a little lost in the beginning??

I'll probably feel so much better after my planning session next month!

Dont feel like your alone. I feel the same excate way and I try to keep telling myself, to not worry that they are busy helping other brides and I will have my time. However my heart doesn't feel that way. I am worried something will be overlooked because I wasn't informed of what I need to do. What I have started to do when I begin to feel that way is work on something regarding the wedding. get your welcome bags together, get attendants gifts, invitations, newsletter...I try to stay busy so I don't worry about the planner.

I am sure in a month you will feel better after your planning session, and trust me it doesn't get any better as it gets sooner, my planning session is the 20th of this month.

Also to make you feel more prepared get everything you want to take to the planner together. so when you are there you can maximize the planners time and talk about ideas you have.

The best advice I can give is to KEEP READING DISBOARDS!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I cannot tell you how wonderfull all of the girls(& guys too) are if you need advice, resources, ideas, a place to vent, they will do it all.

I would be lost if I hadn't come accross the DIS.:sad1:

I feel the same way and I'm 18 months out!! lol. Just breath...... my DF tells me this: "Everything will be ok, and if there IS something missing/wrong..no one will know or notice. And if something DOES happen at the wedding, like the best man pass out (isnt he optimistic?? lol), at least everyone will still be talking about our wedding in 5 years!!" LoL Its true. So just smile, and know that nothing is ever going to be perfect. But thats what makes it unique.

I feel the same way. I have a million questions but I know most of them will be answered at the planning session so I'm trying not to bombard my WP with questions. Like others have said I've just been trying to do other things. I'm working on invitations now and trying to decide on favors. I've booked my rooms and in Oct I'll make ADRs for the wedding week.

Dont worry :) Everything will be fine and Disney will get it all done on the big day!

I felt the same way, but you have to keep in mind that each coordinator has a LOT of couples all at the same time. They really have to give most of their priority to the couples who are closest to their wedding date. Until you are about 6 months out, there really isn't a whole lot they can do for you other than booking your times and locations. I know it's SO HARD to just sit and wait and feel like you're not doing anything, so (in the meantime) do as others have suggested and read the DIS. Get all the information you can. be a sponge! Because when you go for your PS you need to be INFORMED! They can't possibly tell you everything and every option under the sun, so it helps if you have an idea ahead of time (in detail) of what you're going to want. If it helps, my trip report from my PS is in my signature. Maybe that will help you prepare for what they can help you with when you get there, and what other things you could do in the meantime.

ETA: You might also want to check out my planning journal because it takes you step by step through what we did from the day we paid our deposit. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1192969 HTH!!

Yes, we all went thru that crazy time not knowing what to do and really wanting to get things done, so you're right on schedule! :thumbsup2

Since you asked about rooms, music and favors, here are some answers to that. Your planner will send you a CD with music snipits, so I'd wait until then to worry about picking music, but if you have ideas on things you want, go ahead and write them down so you'll have them for the planning session. The one thing you definitely should be doing now is booking your rooms/doing your room block if you're a custom. You can also start thinking about where you want to make any ADR's while you're in Disney so that you can book those at your 180 mark which will be coming up soon too. Favors, dresses, etc you can do now or later, whenever you're ready.
