Sigh - Just last night - figured out we needed 7 day tickets instead of 6 day tickets. Too tired to upgrade last night. Now this morning - ticket prices went up. Well, crap - now it's going to be $31 for that other day instead of $10!!!!

Don't want to wait to upgrade after we use a day because we want to book FP's for each day - and that happens this week.

Crap, crap, crap....

You could just not buy that 7th day and use it as a down-time day - tour resorts, go to DTD, pool day, that kind of thing. Those days are fun too!

Maybe you could live with just making 6 days instead of 7 days of FPs. Then when you get there and upgrade with a price bridge (which should just be $10 per ticket), you can make that last day's FPs. As long as you don't save the super-headliner FPs for that day, there should be plenty of FP availability.

I'm debating about this strategy of waiting so I can bridge price right now. Think there's any chance I can get 3 Soarin' FP's just 5 days in advance? Would want it either around 1-2 pm or after 7 pm. EPCOT has EMH evening hours that day 9-11pm, but I don't think we'll last much later than 9 pm.

If the Soarin FP is important to you (and getting an optimal time) I would just do it now. Tough call! Hate these price increases!

Price-bridging is something done in person at WDW. If you bought a Disney package with tickets and your trip is within 45 days, you can't make a change without incurring a change fee. OR, If you bought tickets from a third party, you can't return tickets because you've already entered them in your MDE account. OR, If you bought tickets from Disney online, you can't add to them at all -- their ticket sales are considered one-and-done (non-returnable, not able to make changes). Plus, Disney tickets bought online or at ticket booths can't be price-bridged.

Yes, I think you'll be ok. If you go in right now you can see that you can book Soarin for tomorrow if you wanted. 5 days should be fine.

Is this part of a package? The reason I ask is because just today I priced out our stay for September again, expecting the price to be higher due to the ticket increase. However, the price is identical to when I booked months ago.

Weird.

Edit: Just confirmed the new ticket prices are NOT reflected in the package that I priced out for September. I wonder when this will change. However, the ticket cost, when included in a package, is the same as it was before yesterday's ticket price change. That same comment goes for the extra's too, like PH and water park options.

When you go to book your FPs, book that last Epcot day and leave a different, non-tiered day free of FPs. When you upgrade your tickets at the parks, then book FPs for that open day.

Last week, I would have been able to book Soarin at a kiosk as my 4th fast pass had I been staying after dinner. I was surprised because lines were really long, but Soarin was available when I went for Living with the Land due to a 45 minute standby line! (I know, right?) since we had dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon, I had to bypass Soarin for LWTL.

Another thought is that Friday night, we got in standby line at 835 and only waited about 15 minutes. We waited longer Thursday am with FP+ for Soarin. We also waited quite a while for Star Tours & Midway Mania WITH FP+. This time, FP+ lineswhiles better than standby lines, we're not just walking, there was a lot of standing and waiting through the entire queue. Star Tours, Midway Mania & Mine Train were all waiting for the 1st touch point & in a line all the way to the 2nd touch point. They moved, but slowly.

The FP system had been down over those last few days of your trip and as word got out, anyone with a MagicBand, whether they had a valid FP or not, was given the green light to enter the FP line. That's what messed up the timing of the FP lines and resulted in FP lines almost as long as Standby lines.
