Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

We will probably try to eat off-property more or cook in our villa. Where do you like to go off-property?

We've only been to Bahama Breeze and Sunny's BBQ ... they were fine but looking for other choices. Thx.

Love the pics with your family -- the ones with you all throwing the leaves in the air are great!

We like to go to places that we don't have in Canada but that you guys have all over the place. We like Olive Garden, TGI Friday's, IHOP, Uno's, etc. Nothing fancy but to us it is "vacation" food.

Makes sense! I try to avoid those places since we can eat at those anytime at home.

Guess I need to check out off-dining threads...

My boys love that train in the mall! I don't take them on it very often, but it's always a thrill for them when they get to ride. Of course, I always feel slightly ridiculous, sitting in this tiny train car, chugging through the mall at a slower pace than everyone who's walking. Anything for my boys, I guess. :rotfl:

Mythos looks like an interesting restaurant. It's hard to imagine not needing reservations for that place. I didn't realize Universal had that much theming, but that's pretty cool.

The Ohio trip looks really fun. Great family pictures! :goodvibes

 I guess the train in the mall is a common thing down in the States. We were blown away when we saw it.

Yep, Universal had really great theming, now that I have visited I don't understand all the Universal bashing. :confused3 I say if you are interested that you should definitely give it a try in a few years once the boys are older and can go on more rides. :thumbsup2

We always have a great time when we visit the family (for the most part ;))

May 17th continued

The next logical place to visit after The Lost Continent is Seuss Landing. When we had speed walked through earlier that morning it looked really cool and I had been looking forward to exploring it more. Walking into Seuss Landing was just like walking into a Dr. Seuss book, all colourful and crazy!

It looks crowded in the above picture but it really wasn't bad at all.

I headed into the washroom to rinse out my souvenir butterbeer cup before stuffing it in Mom's bag. The bathroom was very large, very clean, and deserted!

Alek and Erich studied the park map while I washed out the cup.

We explored a bit more before getting on a ride. There was so much to look at!

Having explored that one small section of Seuss Landing we decided it was time to get on a ride. Which one would be head to first?

I am glad that I could reassure you about the general availability of poles at Universal. ;)

Oooh, Seuss-land looks great!

It was really neat, so colourful!

Seussland is so well detailed and looks like so much fun.

Yes, it was very detailed. I am sure kids love the area, especially if they are of the age to be reading Dr. Seuss. :thumbsup2

Seuss Landing looks so fun! Love the t-shirts, I would have wanted to buy them all for my little brother!

I remember seuss landing to be very cute, we didn't spend much time there though!

How nice that you were able to spend time with your family, and congrats to the grandparents on 50 years of marriage!

I can't believe you let your brother get so close to a lake with your Disney Dooney! I know that if he had slipped, I would have recused the Dooney first- he would have been on his own!

I can't believe you don't have informercials about pajama jeans in Canada! You should you tube it, it is hilarious!

I am embarrassed about you seeing those pajama jeans. A sad product of America late night infomercials. :rotfl:
Love the family pics! One of the malls in NC has one of those trains and I am always dodging it. The "conductor" floors it and I swear he thinks it's funny to make people scared and jump out of the way.

Suess landing is just as cute as I remember it! We only rode one thing there in '08, the dark ride whatever it's called. Can't really remember what else they had.

Yep, it is nice seeing a long lasting marriage these days as it is becoming more uncommon.

I didn't LET him get that close with my purse. He snatched it when I wasn't looking.

Maybe I will youtube it tonight as a break from midterm studying. Two tomorrow, one next weekn plus a paper to write. :scared1:

:rotfl: Oh, I am sure you can probably get them up here too, just never seen them before in our stores.

Not cool!

That would have been The Cat in the Hat. :thumbsup2

Hey there! So I am a little late to the party but I'm finally all caught up on your TR/out of lurker-ville so I thought I'd say hello! I'm really enjoying your TR! Never been to Universal but I think I would love the Seuss section!
Also, at one point (probably a WHILE back) you mentioned that one of your brothers (I think Erich?) had a bad experience on a roller coaster called the Volcano. I know it's probably a long shot since you live in Canada and would most likely not go to a random amusement park in Richmond, but any chance you're talking about the one at Kings Dominion?
Anyways, like I said I'm enjoying your TR and wanted to say hello. Hope you have a great Halloween!

Just checking in !! I am learning about Universal for next year !!! I am soo lucky to have all these Dissers to help me plan that trip!!

Welcome!

Yes, the Volcano we rode was at King's Dominion. Canada's Wonderland up here in Toronto is nearly identical to King's Dominion except it is lacking Volcano! We lived in Virginia Beach for 6 years so we went to King's a few times although we mainly visited Busch Gardens (had season's passes almost every year). Alpengeist is still my favourite coaster, I would love to go back and try the new coaster, Griffin I think? Anyways.... thanks for reading and commenting! I love to hear from the lurkers!
