feeling discurged

Hi Brittany,

I think there's no reason you should feel discouraged. From what I have understood reading the boards, the majority of people have actually been very happy with their weddings.

I know I am certainly excited for my DFTW, I trust my planner to make it wonderful.

Make sure to enjoy planning, communicate everything you definitely want with your planner to avoid disappointment, and recognise that with such a big event there may be small bumps that the guests will likely not even notice.

I hope I've helped a little, if you have any specific questions about your special day, I'm sure lots of people on the boards will be more than happy to help :)

I can't say I've heard more than one or two people have major complaints out of the hundreds that come through this board. I loved my wedding and wouldn't have changed a thing about it. There are some things we all wish weren't the rules (mainly photography in parks), but it's not enough to deter!

I have to agree with the other posters, there have only been a couple of brides on here who were really unhappy with their weddings, the rest of us have been quite pleased and even thrilled with their experience (myself included!) The most important thing is to communicate what you want with your planner and to remember that any hiccups you might have will probably be something your guests will never notice. If you do have any questions please feel free to ask any of us. :thumbsup2

I'm new here and I have yet to read a post about a disappointed bride or a disgruntled groom. In fact, it seems that Disney is also the happiest place on earth to get hitched!

Maybe you want a different theme instead??? ie not a Disney one...

I think there is a general let-down after a wedding is over. You spend so much time planning for your big day and then it happens, and it's beautiful, but then it's over. I've heard of a lot of brides say they feel like they looked forward to their wedding for so long, that when it's over they need something else big to look forward to.

Out of all the posts I've seen here about Disney weddings, I've only seen a few that have been disappointed with aspects of their wedding. I know that I'm very excited about mine and I, like Nitsa, trust my planner to make everything go smoothly. Definitely do not feel discouraged! :goodvibes

Keep in mind, most people that are unhappy about something go on and on about it. Most people that are pleased, say it once and move on. Think about how many times you have had great service at a restuarant. Have you ever told the manager what a fabulous server you had ? But if you have poor service, you probably did tell someone. It's the same here. I would say at least 90% of the couples on here are very happy with their weddings, probably more. So don't let a few unhappy people sway you from the wedding of your dreams. Ours was fatastic !! Happy planning and yes, there are tons of helpful people on here.

PS-Yes, I do pull a manager aside and tell him/her what a fabulous server I had so that the server gets kuddos for his/her hard work.

I think most of the posts I have read state that they are extremely happy with how their day went.

I was happy with mine and wouldn't change a thing about it.

I was 100% happy with my Disney wedding. They exceeded my expectations - I had many guests come up to me and tell me it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

My wedding was absolutely wonderful. I could not have asked for more. I have read one post about a bad wedding on these boards but let's not bring that one up. Every other person whose PJ I have read has wonderful things to say about their Disney Weddings.

Also, a dictionary is a great invention! Thanks!

My cousin had her wedding at WDW 3 years ago and I am planning my own wedding there now, to be held in December of this year. My cousin was thrilled with her wedding and wouldn't change a thing. I personally have had nothing but positive experiences so far in my planning. There are always going to be people who find negative aspects in everything- but overall, Disney weddings are nothing but wonderful!

I may not post a lot, but I have been around this board a long time!!! I agree with the other ladies, everyone seems thrilled with their weddings. I think whether you have your wedding in Disney or in the town you live or grew up, there will be a few things that one would have done differently. I would have done a lot different, but I have also had 5 years to think about it. There are also some people that won't be happy with anything, and those people tend to be loud sometimes. Good luck! I hope you have a wonderfule wedding whatever you decide to do.
