Hi everyone! I'm new here so any feedback is appreciated!! My family got annual passes for Christmas from my amazing mother. We are looking to stay for a weekend visit in March and will be booking under the pass holder deal. Would you recommend POR or CSR? We stayed at CSR in early December when my daughter was there for a cheer competition. We thought it was nice but we honestly weren't in the room or at the resort much. Any feedback on pros and cons are appreciated!!

My family and I personally like POR much more than CSR. Our first stay at POR was at Christmas time. We got a Royal Room, and ever since that visit, that is the only place my DD14 wants to stay. We love the ambiance of the entire resort, the rooms, the lobby, the food court, Yehaa Bob, the boat to DS, everything. We've never had a bad experience staying at POR. My DD14 and I decided to try CSR a few years ago, and it just wasn't our favorite. They are renovating the rooms right now, so maybe we would give it another go some day (if the price is significantly lower than POR), but POR will always be our favorite. We also like that at POR we can wander over to POFQ. Our first onsite stay was at POFQ and it brings back so many wonderful memories!
I agree with the PP that if you stayed at CSR already, give POR a try.

I personally would go with which ever one you could get for less. I love POR better than CSR and CSR is under renovation, in the Ranchos section right now so you have to consider that. Having said that, we will be there in March and are doing a split stay with CSR/BW because I got a silly cheap rate with CSR (like $50 or $60 less a night than the other moderates).

We like both Port Orleans resorts. They tend to be a nice mix of quiet with just enough hustle and bustle at a reasonable price. Plus you have the option of taking a relaxing boat ride to Disney Springs.

We will be staying in mid march for only two nights Fri-Sun. I booked CSR but am still toying with switching. I can book POR for and additional $40 a night. I just don't know. I am so terrible at decision making. We didn't have a bad time when we were there in December, I just don't want to be snack dab in the middle of a renovation. Do they book rooms in the same vicinity of work they are doing?

POR all the way. Much more quaint feeling, even though it's large, with the added bonus of a boat to DS!

Love both resorts but if you have tried one, why not try the other.

At CSR, they are closing one building at a time for renovation. You will not be booked in a building that's being renovated. The renovation is an interior one as well--hard goods inside rooms (i.e. everything inside rooms.) At most, exteriors may be painted (that was shared on the Coronado Springs Buzz FB page), but there won't be exterior work.

The only thing to keep in mind is the potential demolition of Cabanas 7B (the now-closed, former Business Class building) and construction of a new facility in its place. That is the building's rumored fate, and apt to have noise impacts on the Cabanas section.

I just saw about the construction at CSR. I was thinking of booking there for a few nights at the end of June. Will the construction be going on then?

The room renovation just began and should last 18 months, one building at a time. The Cabanas 9B demolition/construction permit extends through June 2019. (Yes, 2019.)

I prefer CSR; I love the openness of the resort. I also find it easier to navigate. While I really like POR due to the boats to DS, I find that if the building I'm in isn't right along the main path, I get lost! I was there in September and I can't tell you how many times I got lost getting back to my room when I used the West Depot!

I love both resorts. But if you have any inkling to go to Disney Springs book POR. The boat ride from there is much nicer than the bus ride from CSR.

I would choose POR since you've tried CSR. Or think about the theming that appeals most to you. Either resort is great.

A short trip is a nice time to try something new, especially if you plan to use the boat to go to DSp.

However, CSR is my favorite, so I personally wouldn't pay more for POR.
