I just don't have the energy to do coupons if i have them and it's cheaper to use then i use it but normally i just don't i forget i have them then when it's expired i remember darn i had a coupon.

I only use coupons for certin brands and then I stock up like a mad manpirate:

I could feed my family of 8 on $10 a day but it wouldn't be extremely healthy eating. LOL I have shopped at Save-A-Lot for many items and have walked out with an $80 grocery bill for the entire week. (No paper products etc.) Not too bad. However I would stop at the produce store on my way home or use from my garden. I'd need about $20-$30 extra for produce.
I also only buy front page sale items or buy in bulk if it's worth the cost. I've tried coupons but I tend to forget to use them. I'm also buying a lot more whole wheat products and eating healthier and the cost is going way up.
I won't break down a day by day cost of meals because it varies so much.

I don't use coupons that often either. i like save a lot and aldi's. Aldi's helps me save money. I travel 40 min. to get to an aldi's. So I don't get to an aldi's a lot.

Take your pita bread slice in chip size. bake in low oven of 300 for 15 min until brown.
I have brushes them with oil and coats them in kosher salt but for spinach dip i like them plain so do the kids the little one uses them to dip in the peanutbutter dip i make him

Just diced pears or apples diced and peanut butter and raisins mixed together.

This is a great idea! They always have pita breads in the clearance breads at our Walmart and while I love pita chips, I have never thought of doing that. And the premade ones are SO expensive. That is going on my grocery list for tonight!!

I do it with store bought bagels to i have adjustable bread knife worth the expense if you bake your own breads to. But it comes in handy when we entertain during the holidays or asked to bring a dish to someone's house bring some dip and chips.

You know Aldi we don't have that here but it looks like what we do have it's called the Canned food Outlet store i was looking at the website. I was planning on going out there next week when i do the kids lunch shopping for school i can get things they like dirt cheap. Like capri suns 10 pks for .99 a box and 8oz bottles of apple juice from tree top for .10 a bottle.
It doesn't work for our day to day things but for lunches for the kids and when we have parties it's great and they have the best prices for ice cream in town.

Ok explain how you do that? how would you stock up what kind of coupons.
I would love to learn.

well here we go. My dd 15 loves the curves bars. School and sports will be starting soon. I get the coupons from the dis coupon train:disrocks: , my mil ,my mom and I buy the paper. I save all of the curves coupons (before expire date) and I usually gather up around 10. I watch Walmart and the news paper for that item to go on sale. Then I pounce.. and I use all the coupons at once. Then I hide them until school starts for dd (I always watch the experation date to).. So I usually end up with 2 boxes for free or deeply discounted.. I only do the coupons with certin items that are real favs. now dd will be involved with sports and she will need to take a quick snack to eat on the bus (with out making a mess) so I asked her what she wanted for the season and she said Curves bars.. So I planned from June to collect the coupons.:teacher:

Ok that makes sense now Thanks

that is a great deal on Capri suns..

It is a great deal problem is you can't really stock up because alot time they are close to expire so you really have to be careful. When we go camping i'll pick up things of convience and use them and toss what we don't finish when were done because of the expire date. They had ranch dressing for 4 @ 1.00 so i bought 1 but it expires next month so when done camping i tossed it didn't break my heart. You just have to be real careful.

That is such a good idea, I live 2 miles from a Sara Lee outlet and they often do bags of huge bagels for 50 cents.

I do it with store bought bagels to i have adjustable bread knife worth the expense if you bake your own breads to. But it comes in handy when we entertain during the holidays or asked to bring a dish to someone's house bring some dip and chips.

Just popping in with a quick hello :) I won't be around this weekend. Every year I coordinate all the volunteers for a HUGE children's resale event (proceeds to charity btw) sponsored by my mothers' organization. So tomorrow is set up and Saturday is the sale and breakdown. And then on Sunday I sleep!

This is the weekend we (well, I and dd12) eat not-very-well. Safe deli wraps tomorrow for her and a sub for me, safe pizza for all of us (since I'm the Boss, I get to determine where the pizza for all the volunteers comes from!). I'll pack peaches from the orchard and bottles of water for us. On Saturday we'll take whatever dh prepares for us----probably sandwiches or string cheese w/ wholegrain crackers. Frankly I'm too busy coordinating 100 volunteers to eat anything!

We'll make up for it on Sunday :)

Oh and if anyone lives in Delaware or southern NJ or southeastern PA or northern MD---come to our resale at Del. Tech in Stanton (the exit for Borders/ToysRUs, opposite the Christiana Mall) We're in the gym. 8-12 noon on Saturday. Cash only please :) Clothes from infant through juniors, baby equipment and supplies, maternity, oodles of toys!

I *think* the info is up on www.AtHomeMothersConnection.org but I could be mistaken :)

That is so funny. When I was pregnant with DS11, I craved tomato sandwiches. He hates tomatoes!! :rotfl2: He will eat pizza, sometimes spaghetti, but for the most part avoids tomato products.

My mom had morning sickness around the clock. The only thing that she craved was root beer floats. I don't like them to this day.:rotfl:

I have a friend like that won't touch anything with sliced or diced tomatos but survives on pizza. lol

I will eat chopped tomatos but only eat sliced if I can't see them. Sliced tomatoes look like they're still in the larvae form. EWWWWW!
