I'm 18 days before our trip and I think I'll need to shorten the trip :sad2:
I booked a 15 nights stay with an 14 days ultimate ticket at WDTC. I need to get home early so I'm thinking about shortening the trip to a 6 nights stay.
Does anybody have experience with this?
I read that there is a 50£ fee to change your booking. So if I change the package for a shorter stay, will I be refunded the difference.
Or can I change my travel date completly, so that I could use this package in summer, and just book a new one for now.
I'm looking for the option that looses me less money.
I don't really understand what is considered as a change of booking.

Every help is greatly appreciated.

terms and conditions are as follow

if your booking includes a hotel but no flight. You can change the return date (date when you leave the hotel), but if you change your departure date (date when you arrive at the hotel) then this is a cancellation (if you are less than 56 days out, which is your case).
So you can shorten your stay, but only by changing the date when you leave the hotel. Otherwise it's a full cancellation, and being at 18 days out you'll have a 40% penalty (you'll get 60% back)

if you only change your "returning" date, the price of your booking will be recalculated based on the current prices (if you had a discount or deal, and this deal is no longer on, then you'll lose it and the current price will be used to calculate the new price of your booking, and hence your refund)
and there will be a £50 amendment fee to pay.

Any amendment made inside of 14 days is a cancellation, plain and simple, with a 50% penalty from 14 to 5 days, and a 100% penalty if there is 4 or less day before departure

so you're 18 days out, you only have 3 days left to make up your mind

WDTC-UK won't take any amendment request by email, you'll need to write (which probably won't be an option since it's a bit late). So I suggest you phoned, and they will tell you immediatly how much you'll be refunded and what the fees will be, if amendment is possible at all.

ok thank you very much. I'll think about it today, and figure out if I can change my flights.
I was thinking about changing the returning date, because I need to be home earlier.

Hi I have an other question.
I ended up not calling, because I wasn't sure if I needed to change the dates and I couldn't wrap my mind yround not going to disney for 14 days.
Now I ended up booking an return flight on the second of november . My check in date is the 28 october, would I be able to use the ultimate ticket voucher on the 21 october when I arrive in Florida? (I'm thinking about going to Disney instead of Miami before a cruise)

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything about this.

Hi,
I was in this situation last year when I originally booked one week off site followed by one week on site. The tickets were part of a package but I wanted to use them the week previous to checking in on site. After several phone calls to different people I was told that you could pick them up 3 days early but no more. There is a sticky on the Theme Park touring and strategy board that confirms this, and I got wdw to send me an e-mail stating this, as some CM's will tell you it can't be done. I ended up having my on site stay first so actually cannot confirm this. Good Luck!

thank you. That's exactly what I was afraid of, but I hope that the can make an exeption because I will stay on site for the 2 stays, so I could, (if I had those travel dates before) have booked the first one as a package and only the stay as a room only.
I send an email to WDTC but haven't got an answer yet. I'll just have to hope for some pixie dust.

Cynth, given how close you are to your trip, I'd ring them rather than email. You could wait a few days for a reply if they are busy. I hope it all works out well for you :goodvibes
