Who has gone to Disney in February? How are the crowds, the weather, etc.? Myself, DD5, DS2(first time, yeah!) and DH currently have reservations at the Wilderness Lodge Villas during the first week of February and would love to hear feedback on that time of the year.

Thank you.

Hi,

Plug your dates in here for some history:

I can tell you that February weather is completely unpredictable. You could have warm days with cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s.

As for the crowds, they will be light as long as you avoid President's Day week (which it looks like you will!).

Bob P is right, avoid Presidents day and you'll be fine with the crowds. I went in February and was cold. Go and don't expect tropical weather!

My family and friends went Feb 05, the week before Presidents day and the first day was freezing. After that it warmed up to about 80. The forecast called for temps in the 50 so only brought 2 pair of shorts. It's quite unpredictable, I'd pack for a variety of weather.

The crowds were very low, even with the cheerleaders there (hardly ever saw any except at DtD.) Ride wait time were 5-10 minutes.

I just wanted you to know that Mardi Gras falls on Feb.5 . I don't think that the crowds will be bad though. I hope not that is why I am planning on going.

Wow, now i'm beginning to think i have picked a really bad time to go.:confused3 I guess i better do some serious thinking.

Why are you saying that? We all pretty much told you it's a good time to go!

I'm confused because the weather is so unpredictable and to know me is to know i am a planner and an overpacker sorry if you got the wrong impression.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the weather...my advice is just take a little of everything and layer in the morning. You may start out with a sweatshirt or even a coat but by afternoon you may be down to long sleeves. Of course, this is dangerous advice if you are on overpacker! ;)

If you don't want to worry about changeable weather, your best bet would be to go between late May and October, when you are pretty much guaranteed you will only need shorts and t-shirts (but the crowds will be much larger than they will be in February!).

Again Bob is right, if you are not going during Presidents Week.
That is one of the busiest weeks of the year. :confused3

Depending upon where you are from regarding the weather. For us in the north of Canada, February in Florida is balmy. I wore shorts and a t-shirt but saw lots of people in long sleeves and long pants.

Our Honeymoon was the 2nd week in Feb 2005. The weather was comfortable. I wore a light jacket in the AM and took it off most afternoons. There were a few days it was nice enough to swim even. The weather is unpredictable but it isnt frigid either. I think its a great time to go as the crowds are low up until the middle of Feb. We had a great time and are planning on going back this coming year for the end of Jan-Feb for our 3 year anniversary. Have fun!

Going during February is a great time to go with low crowds. The weather is a little bit chilly in the morning but will warm up and then of course it will get chilly when the sun goes down. Just make sure you back sweaters and/or blankets if you are staying for fireworks/parades. We have been the past two years in February and love it. We go when it is during winter break for the schools and have had no problem with the crowds just avoid the parks on Presidents day..But you wont be there so it wont matter.
But other than that you have planned a good time to go! Dont worry about it!

Crowds are great the upto about Valentines, then it gets busy as it hits peak season. We went FEB this year, week before Presidents week and it was low 70's and 50's in evening. A couple of days, it was only in the 60's. I am thinking about APril instead next year, as the weather SHOULD be better and Easter Crowds will be in March, so i think APRil will be good!!
Even though it was really cold in Canada when we left, It did not feel the same with 70's. yes it was a nice change but i really wanted to wear shorts and t's but found between the cold morning i stayed in Jeans the whole week. Definetly need to pack 2 sets of cloths, warm/summer cloths
