We have a trip booked in November, then another in February (bought an annual pass before the prices went up), and I totally forgot to plan the dining for February! I snagged a Bon Voyage noon breakfast one day, and also an early Garden Grill on another. I also grabbed the Storybook dining with SnowWhite since we're staying at the Fort, but I'm not sold on it yet. I need recommendations for fun options for our kids, 6, 3, and 1. Here's what we've either already done on past trips, or I've already planned for November:

CRT
O'hana
Akershus (prob least favorite food)
BOG
Crystal Palace
Park Fare Cinderella Dinner
Hoop de Doo
Hollywood and Vine

I always recommend Sanaa - If you time it right, the kids can watch the animals out the window, but you can also go out on the walkways and talk to the educators. (Plus, of course, the bread service is amazing!)

DS always liked Rainforest Cafe, but you have to know your kids - some are fascinated, some are overwhelmed.

Sci-Fi is also fun if they're not afraid of the dark. - They get a kick out of the "car" tables.

The restaurant itself doesn't have a "fun" element, but don't discount The Wave at CR either. - We really liked it, and the kids might enjoy riding the monorail into the hotel.

Thanks for the recommendations! I booked a late Sanaa lunch. I’m trying to avoid another buffet this trip aside from GG. we all often split foods and it ends up being more affordable and we can eat at more places this way. Al the character buffets we’ve done in the past were on the free dining plan trip we took.
I’m not sure about sci-fi, it’s my 6 yr old I’m worried about. He’s prone to nightmares when he sees scary stuff so we have to be very careful with him. Might wait until he’s a little older. But I’ve heard great things about it.
HS is really where we struggle to find food to eat. I think we may hop over there after our late Bonvoysge breakfast for half the day and check out GE.

Maybe Mama Melrose? I just went with picky eater DD, and we agreed the flatbread appetizer was delicious (and I think, big enough for a 6 yo to have as a meal), as were the pasta dishes that we ended up customizing. They came just the way we wanted!

Also, it seems pretty easy to book. We changed our reservation time the same day, and had flexibility in open times.

Biergarten, Boma, Whispering Canyon are our family favorites for non-character.

We were just there for 10 days and Storybook Dining was our favorite of all. The character experience was on par with Bon Voyage breakfast, more personal and fun than Akershus or the castle. The food was delicious, the desserts weren’t great but the food was amazing. The characters really took time with you. The dwarves danced through the dining room a lot. Both of these were able to take off 10% with the Disney Visa.

Another new restaurant we tried this time was 50s Prime time. My kids had fun and the pot roast was great. We never eat sit down at Hollywood and we’re pleasantly surprised.

We were completely disappointed by a Tusker House. This may be because Boma is so beloved to us and the food is just so much better there.

Have a great trip!

My daughter also does not like scary things at all and she loves Sci-fi! The monster previews are very cheesy and not scary and there are also cartoon clips that they show. It's a fun place for lunch.

What did you have to eat at Storybook? I've heard mixed reviews!

The mushroom soup was amazing. We all loved that. We had one chicken and one prime rib kid’s meal. Both girls loved their choices. I had the adult prime rib. People complain that it is fatty, but it is supposed to be more fatty than steak. The potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the pork shank and he thought it was the best food of the trip. The desserts were just okay. My kids eat adventurously and they loved our food, too.
