February 7, 2009 Western early check in!

Sue, my tags are also lime green, I can't really remember what color they were for previous cruises, but I want to say they were a different color. They are probably still on my suitcases which I still haven't pulled out yet.

So my DD22 who is away at school and who is not cruising with us this time called to tell me she finally booked a flight to Orlando when we will be there, pre-cruise. She is also bringing a friend. I've been telling her to do this for months so that I could request a larger suite at the WL and of course now at this point there is nothing available. I hope she doesn't mind the floor! Geesh I guess the saying, if you want something done right do it yourself is really true after all, but then again I would have ended up paying for that flight. Maybe the weather will be warm and she and her friend can sleep out by the pool, haha, or could you imagine, in the lobby of the villas!! Hmmm.. it's an idea.

Off to get the kiddos up and out so I can finally pack some stuff up, wish me luck.

At about 1:30 pm yesterday UPS stopped by to deliver my new bathing suit (I even psoted about it here) and left an envelope of sorts addressed to my DH. It wasn't until 11:00pm that I sat straight up in bed and came out to the kitchen to look at my DH's envelope (which I assumed it was a computer memory chips). Lo and behold! It was from Disney. We got our docs and they felt so unloved because I let them sit for hours and hours before giving them any attention.

Monica, I went to your page, coutesy of your Proud mamma :). I'm glad she said it wasn't in English because I have to admit I caught myself thinking, "Is it me, I don't know what she's saying." Then it clicked as to your mom's disclaimer about the language.

Again, notice the subjest of this post, "I'm losing it!" Well, there you have it proof! I'm expecting my docs any day now and I don't even take a second look at who the envelope is from, then I get out of a warm bed and then I talk to the silly envelope and finally I think something wrong with my hearing because I can't figure out what Monica is singing. :scared1:

I need a cruise! Oh wait...I am going on a cruise :hyper: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :beach:

OK my head hurts now after all that celebrating :faint:

Dee, it's a Wednesday morning so it may be too early for a drink. However, it's 5:00 somewhere!!!!!!!!!

Will a glass of water count since I can't have milk or alcohol? I'll put the water in a margharita glass and put an umbrella in it. And then I'll keep saying, "it's 5:00 somewhere, it's 5:00 somewhere" while I tap my bare feet together. Do you think that would get me on the cruise any faster?

TinkerKat-- I think you have my Alex (4) on your list, but you didn't have my Joey (6), so I can account for one of the missing boys :)

Cruise docs... So I was sitting at the computer last night doing car rental stuff with DH. We got to the part about flight info, and I said I needed to go find the flight number, and he very matter-of-factly says, "oh yeah-- something came from them today..." "From Southwest?" I asked, wondering why I was getting something from Southwest-- I never have before previous flights, and he says, "No, Disney Cruise Line." I whacked him one!!!! They came early in the day while I was working (pulled a 13 hour day yesterday between subbing at my sons school, Birth to Three work and youth director stuff). And then he wouldn't give them to me!!! I literally had to find them and then peel them out of his hands, and he thought it was hilarious. Once I got them in my hands, it was a fantastic end to a long day and now it's officially official!!!! :cool1:

One note on the fuel surcharge... We got a call quite awhile back (a couple of weeks before Christmas) telling me that our fuel surcharge was going to be re-credited directly to the credit card I used to make the reservation. By the next week, it was all there. I am DEFINITELY not complaining, but I wonder why it went back to our card and not to onboard credit? Strange :confused3

Made my first magnets too!!! It worked! I'm going to try making the iron-ons for my FE sometime today and then the rest of the magnets. Gotta work on putting my FE gifts together too. Then packing... DH is complaining about the state of the laundry room...

Time to get the boys ready for school-- we had another 2-hour-delay today. I could get used to this sleeping in...

Sure! Do you have food coloring? You could add a drop or two to make it look even more like a margarita!!! LOL:flower3:

OUr flights got moved (times are actually better) but because I used miles to buy DH and DS seats and paid for mine, they didn't put us together on new flight. Delta couldn't move us last night. Hopefully the gate can - and at least agent was friendly.... I like friendly

Cincinnati stinks - Southwest doesn't even come here! :sad1: Delta has almost a monopoly and if you fly out of anywhere near, there is ALWAYS a change of plane.

Oh well, in two weeks and two days I will be on my way to Cocoa, come heck or high water!

Yo Susan,

You've done so much - don't apologize - we can all ADD to the FABULOUS groundwork you've built!.

My tags are lime green!

DH read docs all the way through when I wasn't looking and then told me about it. He told me his questions too.... LOL - I have to call today.

DS told me that "AT christmas time, I was excited like 'Wow, we're going on a cruise' but now mom, its like 'WOW! WE'RE REALLY GOING ON A CRUISE'"

And then he helped me with FE bags.

Yeah, even GUYS get excited!

I have to do some work, seriously!

Hola! (I'm practicing my Spanish for Mexico. The problem is I took French in school...)

I found a great looking beach that I think we are going to while in Cozumel. See my early note about wanting to strangle my dh.

Anyhow, it's Playa Uvas and I emailed the beach club with a few questions and they got back with me within an hour. I love that! The entrance fee is $7 a person but that includes use of pool, showers, loungers, etc., and one drink per person. Not a bad deal I don't think. Plus they have some great packages that you can purchase -- like open bar or snorkeling etc. The prices are great overall. I think we're going to book a reservation so we make sure we have a spot since there are so many ships in port that day.

So Cozumel is covered... Now on to Grand Cayman. Still no idea about what to do.....

Jrandajsmom I think it depended on when you booked the cruise on whether or not you get onboard credit for the fuel surcharg refund. The woman I spoke to at dcl told me that they determine quarterly what the fuel surcharge will be or whether or not to even charge one, that is why many people didn't have to pay one, they booked during a different quarter. You must have booked a while ago and that quarter ended, hence your credit to your card.

pg, be careful drinking any drinks at the beaches, don't drink anything made with water and/or ice, this includes frozen drinks, soda, etc. One trip I took to mexico my sister ordered a frozen drink not even thinking that they use ice to make it and she was sick for months! after that. I had a couple sips of her drink, and I was sick for the rest of the cruise, not sick enough that I had to stay in bed but sick like having to be near a bathroom all the time. So be wary and bring your own water or stick with the hard stuff! lol

Margo, when you get on the plane ask the stewardess if she'll ask someone to switch seats so you can sit with your family. Try to get on early so the person who may be switching with you isn't all settled in his seat yet. Good luck, if not just think happy thoughts!

I was just peeking at the 1/10/09 meet thread and ... gasp... they speak of Norwalk!!!!! NOOOOOO. Please don't let that happen to the Magic. I can't do a stomach virus. I just can't. OMG.

Ok, I'm at work, but I'm in a bit of stress right now and feeling overwhelmed, dealing with cutting budget without cutting people. (already cut a vacant positions so I sort of cut a person. Now I still need to find another 40K)

anyway back to the subject.

Thank you all, many of the post for this day have made me laugh out loud about getting your docs and such.

Pgsahm(Amanda) Your plan at cozumel sounds like a very relaxing day and really inexpensive. Could you send/share where you found out about that. I might be interested, especially at that price.

I know that DD and I want to go Jewerly shopping. Over the past cruises we have bought Jewerly at st martine and st thomas and got good deals. Last year after I returned, I still had some of my years of getting jewery in my purse and it was stollen from me, so I lost some I didn't loose it all I had some on, but the other about 5k worth, this is 5 years worth of purchasing, and now gone, some of it was stuff I had when I was young that my Mom had given to me, not supper valuable, but sentiamental... can't put a price tag on that .

So now I want to slowly slowy replace a piece here and there. I understand that the Jewerly is not as good or the selection is not as good as st martin/thomas, but we want to look around. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations let me know. I've looked for things at home, but I kind of get sick at the thought of replacing the stuff I truley had fun purchasing and love to wear.

Eveyone have a great day

I'm glad that some of you enjoyed the link to my dd music. I enjoy listing to her and hope that life is good to her and the world of music lets her in the door, so that her dream can come true.
