February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

how is everybody

Good question - how AND WHERE is everybody? Shopping and cooking for Thanksgiving maybe???

I'm off the hook this year - my cousin is making all the food, my sister is baking an apple cherry pie; so all I need to bring is Baileys and Port Wine for dessert. :cool1:

Life is good.:thumbsup2

HI!

I'm here! Been really busy this week.
Work has me really busy and stressed with our month end stuff which I do not like at all!! The only thing I do like about month end is that it lets me know that we're another month closer to the cruise! :thumbsup2

Then I got stuck making a turkey for our Thanksgiving potluck today. :headache: Grrrr....

Then I'm making the ENTIRE Thanksgiving dinner next week. I actually don't mind cause I love to cook but I'm also doing it because my sister in law is pregnant with her first child! Her and her husband are VERY excited! Her due date was this passed Tuesday but she said she didn't feel ready so her doctor said they are going to induce her on Monday!
So by Thursday there will be a new addition to the family! I told all my in laws to not worry about dinner, I'll handle everything so my hubby and everyone could spend time with the new baby! :yay:

There's lots going on but that's good cause time goes faster when ur busy!

I can't express how much I'm looking forward to this cruise!! :)

I hope everyone is doing well!

Just bumping us up. We are under triple digits for our cruise!!! 99 days.

Mark

Well it is about to be super bussy at work. I am so happy that Thanksgiving is my least favorate holliday. They pay us doubletime and a half at work and trippletime for anything over eight hours so on Thanksgiving I will be working almost 16 hours we also get 8 hours straight pay if we work or do not work. They do the same on xmas. Thank goodness I am Jewish. Any guesses on what I will be doing on xmas? Anyway we should be paid off so I get my Palo brunch res for my birthday on 3/1. Well I am doing it usall off to Disneyland tomorrow. I am also going to WDW 12/9-12/12. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hey,everyone,
I am trying to get through Black Friday and plan my cooking chores for Thanksgiving...not particularly in that order.I am in charge of all that is bad for you.
Sweet potatoe casserole
Mashed potatoes
Apple pie
Pumpkin Pie
and Pumpkin cheesecake

I have to then be at work at 6:00 am on Friday morning!!

I was wondering if anyone if anyone knows what night will be formal night or pirate night?? I know that you do not usually find out until you board the ship but maybe.....

99 days! Woot!!

Well I just got back from a wedding and 3 days at WDW, loved the cold weather and getting to see the Christmas decor and lights for the very first time.

DH is just booking palo right now, we decided to do brunch on the second day and dinner on the 3rd day since that's my b-day, but I am a bit nervous since I really don't wanna miss APL on show day. Help anyone?

We also pushed our dining seating time to late. We were on the early time before.

In other news I JUST got a brand new job, and I start in 2 weeks time. I better break it to my new boss that I'll be off for over a week at the end of February.

I'm here too! Just busy with the farm bookkeeping, my massage business, AND getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner at our house for my side of the family--about 25-30 people. Will have DH's family over on December 21 for a Christmas dinner.

We will have turkey and beef brisket (hey, we raise beef cattle, so what do you expect) :confused3 :) and all the fixings. I made the homemade noodles on Sunday and froze them so they'll be ready to cook on Thursday morning. I need to finish my grocery list so I can go shopping this weekend. I hate to cook but everyone says I'm good at it. I think they just say that so they don't have to cook. :rolleyes1 Actually, we take turns--my DS usually does Christmas and DB does Easter now that our folks are gone.

Is it 90 days out to book excursions, Palo, etc. if you are a CC member?

I think we are going to do the Water Island Mountain Bike Adventure on St. Thomas but we still haven't decided about St. Croix. I wanted to ride horses but have read a couple of reviews that made it sound kinda slow and boring. Thought about West End Highlights Tour but would like to go to Christiansted to see the historical sights. Also want to look for the St. Croix hook bracelets and don't know if Fredricksted will have any in their stores.

Rookie Mouse--How are you getting along with the kids????? DH and I have been DVC members since 2002 and love it. Let me know if you have any questions. We will be staying at AKV for 3 nights after the cruise.

tjctoy-:welcome: Enjoy your cruise with your son!!!! Our DD has been with us on both of our other DCL cruises. The last one was 2 years ago when she was 21. She is teaching now and can't go with us. :sad1:

Have a good evening everyone!

I just checked the trip report boards, and found these recent navigators from an eastern cruise. I don't think it was a St. Croix trip, so I'm not positive the theme nights will be the same. On that trip, Sunday was formal night, Wednesday was semi-formal night, and Thursday was pirate night.

Even if the theme nights are not on those days, this will help you first time cruisers know more about what happens on board. As you see, there is SO MUCH to do that you won't even be able to do it all!

I think Semi formal and Pirate are backwords. In my four curises we have never had anything but casual on port days. Not disputing your reasearch just going with personal experance

I am here..... Welcome Sue..... I am just busy trying to get everything moved into the new place and out of the old..... I have less than a week to finish..... Just realized some of the furniture we have does not go with the new place, Oh Darn...... I will post pictures after Thanksgiving.... See Ya Mates....:hippie:

Thanks for the imput. I am trying to figure out when to make dinner reservations for Palo.
Thanks for the welcome and good luck in your new home!!
Sorry if this is wrong but I still have not figured out all the reply methods as of yet.

I'm so happy tonight Nets beat Raptors in OT, it feels really great to see us beat them since all thr stupid canada fans boo VC so if feels great when we beat them:goodvibes

For those using SWA (thanks I realy aperciate it) I noticed tonight that MCO is the featured destination. The sale ends Sunday and I am not sure when the dates are that you can fly but thought that people might want to look to see if it helps with there airfare.

You might be right about that - I don't really have that great a memory and since our last trip was almost 2 years go, I can't say for sure when Pirate night would be.

When's the next St. Croix trip? Isn't there one soon, or at least at some point before ours?? Maybe some Dis'er on an upcoming trip can tell us. I don't know if it will help with Palo reservations, but you can always change those on board in case it falls on a night you don't want to miss being in the restaurants for.

We are going to skip Palo's for dinner this cruise. We will book brunch on my b-day and then if BJ allows, tag on to her reservation once on the ship. The computer will not let me book two, so if I tag on later, it usually is allowed.... I usually keep up with what night is what, but since they have been doing trial changes, I just can not keep up anymore. Since we have decided to skip Palo, I figured it does not really effect us.... I will call tomorrow and find out though..... For goodness sake, I have not called them for a month, they must think I fell over board....:lmao: :lmao:

I belive Pirate night is always on Wed. they are on this side of the world. Semi formal is the night before castaway. I looked at some old western navagators of mine and that is how it lined up. Since port days are the same on both cruises it makes sence to me, but I am more often wrong than right.

so, just booked Palo brunch for my cruise the week before this one, so I am all set on Palo booking, now just got to wait to book excursions for this cruise and I am all set

You guys are better than 411!!:yay:
If I am reading correctly does that mean each cabin can mmake only one Palo reservation?? Does this mean if I have two cabins with a linked reservation that I can make two reservations?:thumbsup2

I am a little overwhelmed because I am trying to get this cruise settled as well as plan for a cruise with my family on another cruise line:guilty: on December 29. We are traveling to the Panama Canal:yay: which is exciting. My parents and my family are all going on this trip. My parents who are older will not go on Disney because there is no Bridge(cards) room!! I think that they are afraid that there will be too many children roaming the floors.
Last year we sailed on Norwegian Cruise line and the children's programs were very short-a few hours here and there. The rest of the time they were roaming the halls. Several children actually took my father's wheel chair! I am working on them to try...we will see.

Have a great day:yay:
