February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

Welcome Rookie Mouse. Blue Jay fan. Well no one is perfect. It could be worse, you could like the Yankees.

THE YANKEES?!?!?!?!? BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! Growing up with the Bosox and then cheering for the Jays since 1977 or so... and you think I could like the Yankees???? :faint:

I'd sooner cheer for the 1919 White Sox... :lmao:

Seriously, though, thank you all for the warm welcome. I have no doubt we will have a magical time. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys as well.

atinkerbellmom - we need to introduce your kids to my kids, they will be 10 and 7 at cruise time. ::yes::

Johnna - tyvm for the updated list. I will talk to my siblings about jumping on to the DisBoards and joining us here.

I think my younger sister said it best... I really hate to wish the summer away, but man, I want February to get here so bad. :goodvibes

This seems to be a sports-seasonal thread, which is good by me.

Go Red Sox, enjoy the implosion of the $200MM Yankees and sorry about the tought year the Jays are having.

Bump bump.

Mark

It's ok by me too Mark, I'd rather talk sports than dream about the cruise too much... especially if it will help the next 8 months go by faster. :rolleyes1

Hopefully the Sox will continue to roll along, the Yankees will spontaneously combust (or at least Hank Steinbrenner will), and with the return of Cito, the Jays will climb out of the cellar.

DMMarla07860 - if you are really desperate for football, the CFL season has started... longer field, one less down, but it is still pseudo-football :rotfl:

Now Mark it not like the Red Sox have the lowest payroll in MLB, as a matter of fact are they not just a hair behind, or a hair in front of the team with the lowest payroll?

i'm not that desperate for football that I have to watch it year long but thanks for letting me know. I just hate baseball I find his the most boring sport. But it will be off my mind in 11 days when I go to disneyland before getting on the magic :goodvibes

There is a saying I live by "Baseball is life the rest is just details."

see that is different for me, but everyone is different I love Basketball and Hockey more, they seem so much more fun to me then baseball. Don't get me wrong i use to play softball, not baseball, but pretty much the same and when we get a game going with people around here it is fun to play just not fun to watch for me.

Okay folks - they're talking too much sports now. Here's some suggested topics for alternate conversations:

1) Pop culture scandals - Brittany, Paris, Lindsay (these are always FUN) popcorn::

2) Fashion - especially since the summer sales will start soon and we can stock up on new wardrobes for the cruise! :yay:

3) Shoes - ALWAYS a favorite topic of mine. :thumbsup2 And of course, Disney knows how important shoes are - Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life. princess:

4) Food - oh wait, I'm on a diet. Skip that one. :sad2:

5) Alcohol :drinking: - even though I'm on a diet, there is always room to squeeze that in. :woohoo:

6) Music/Movies: Mamma Mia is coming out soon. I just saw the play and CANNOT wait until the movie comes out.

6) Other vacations you have planned - though we know all will pale in comparison to our upcoming cruise in February 09 :thumbsup2

That's all my 1/2 cup of coffee brain can process at this point. So someone pick a topic and run with it. :moped:

Of course, once the Yankees make their upswing after the all star game, I'll be right in the thick of it with the sports talk. :cheer2:

Ciao for now!! Johnna :flower3:

Baseball Smaseball LOL!!!! I agree with Johnna:thumbsup2

Lets talk shopping...drinking...CRUISING!!!!!! Those seem like topics we would all like...right GUYS LOL!!!!!!!

Johnna...I too can't wait till the Momma Mia Movie comes out...the girls and I just saw the play last month and loved it:love: that was actually the second time we have seen it..I must say it is my favorite broadway show (not that I have seen many) I think it is all the familar songs that put it over the top for me :)

DIE-t.... dosen't sound like much fun at ALL...although I must say that I have been entertaining the idea myself, of starting on one :scared1: :scared1:

Upcoimg trips...VIVA LAS VEGAS for us!!!!! We are going to meet some freinds out there in August (yes, I know that is the hottest time of the year to go)...

Ron is planning to race (drag race) in Denver next month as well...I don't know if any if you have ever heard of the T.V. show "PINKS" or not, but they are going to be in Denver at Bandimere Speedway and they took 300 cars to particiate in it...and Ron is one of the 300 hundred cars...so he is pretty excited about that..it is a two day race...

Hope everyone has a HAPPY/Safe 4th OF JULY!!!!!

brenda:)

:cheer2: I should get my DMIL on this thread. Ever since DFIL passed away in 2002, she has become a sports fanatic. I'm a fair weather baseball fan and only watch the playoffs or World Series if the St. Louis Cardinals or the Kansas City Royals are in them and that doesn't happen very often.

Now, if you want to talk shopping, or Disney, or those yummy mixed drinks, or vacationing, or spa treatments, I'm your gal. :cheer2:

Do any of you collect the Jim Shore Disney Tradition collectibles? I have several of them while at WDW or as gifts from my family. Our local Hallmark stores carry them and I just got a 20% coupon that is burning a hole in my pocket. Might need to take a shopping trip soon.....

Have a fun and safe 4th of July!

Donna

Happy 4th of July to all our Disney-loving friends south of the border. party: :cake:

We had our big national birthday celebration here on Tuesday (which sucks for timing - no long weekend).

We are now into a new month, so that means less waiting for the cruise :cool1:

John

Just popped in to say "HAPPY 4th of July" to everyone. Even you Canada people can celebrate with us; what the heck, Minnesota/Canada- don't we hold hands?

party: party: party: Two years ago I was on the Magic today. Look at my avatar. Truly I felt Mickey gave us the biggest "God Bless America" that year that I had ever seen.

Just to let you know, I do lurk almost everyday, but I do not know of any sports. The last time I got into sports was when Phil Jackson & Michael Jordan kept taking my team to the NBA finals. Now you know how old I am.:lmao: :lmao: Do not even know what month the World Series is in and only watch the Super Bowl for the comercials. I was a :cheer2: in highschool and college, but it was only because I dated a football player in highschool and wanted the sports thing on the entering resume after leaving college.:goodvibes

Now as far as shopping and trips. I think you guys should be planning a trip here. Did you know that Minnesota does not have sales tax on clothes and we have the Mall of America with an amusement park inside. (Even though it is a Nick theme park, it is still cool and Spongebob is always running around). We also have the Water Park of America which is the largest indoor water park in the US. All of this 15 minutes from my house. So come on over, up or down. What the heck, you Canada people have your passports already right? :moped: :car: :drive: Our door is always open......

The "DIE"T word is not going to be in my vocabulary as I tried it last cruise and "SEA" it got me no where....

Drinking, I can not comment on because I do not drink, right BJ.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I swear, everyone e-mails me pictures from last cruise and I am still trying to figure out why I have a drink in my hand on EVERY picture but one. :confused3 Oh, I forgot, I was holding BJ's.:lmao:

Mama Mia- I am right there with you. I  it...... Can not wait to see it. My family is really big into the arts. Wait before you guys who do not know me think :hippie: :hippie: :hippie: :hippie: no, we are toooo science based for that, we just have very talented kids in the arts. My son has had the lead in several musicals and they both play piano and are into "design". But art with a science twist. DS should use the 5 feet 5 inch height in 4th grade to his advantage, but should I say, I am happy he wants to design roller costers and houses for a living....:lmao: :goodvibes DD wants to design "sets" for movies. So this is what I mean by art families. We love the theater and we have season tickets to two local theaters. DS got the lead part of Danny in the musical "Greese" his class is performing this summer.:woohoo:

Have to run before they wake up... Happy Independence Day..... Why is that reminding me of Will Smith, whom I would try to marry if Jada Pickett did not have him? What the heck, then I could give up the baby and tic tac business....:lmao:

Happy 4th of July everyone. So I started packing for my trip in 7 days going to Disneyland first then on to the Disney Magic can't believe it's so close, then this cruise will be my next cruise

Have fun at Disneyland. It will be hot and crowded just to give you a heads up. As a native I should share that if you are a Tower of Terror fan ours will be a big dissapointment. Also see the fireworks one night. The kick the crap out of whishes.

thanks I will have fun. And thanks for the heads uo about it being hot and crowded, although crowds don't bug me much. I'm not really a big rides person. so have never been on Tower of Terror and don't plan on going. And I love fireworks I was planning on trying to see them one night

atinkerbellmom, I've never been to the Mall of America but have thought about making a trip there several times. DD and I LOVE to shop!!!! :lovestruc It's not too far of a drive from Central Missouri so maybe someday......in the meantime, I guess I'll have to satisfy my craving for shopping with Columbia, KC, St. Louis, and the Lake of the Ozarks!

Went shopping this weekend with my future DDIL at the Lake of the Ozarks which has several trendy little boutiques. She found a really nice table for their living room and some ceramic vases and a really unique metal sculpture. Prices were right too! Then, I'm going to KC on Wednesday to pick up my DD from the airport. She has been visiting her BF and his family in Idaho. But I plan to leave early so I can squeeze in some shopping! :yay: And then future DDIL has to be in St. Louis for an early Sunday morning business conference so I offered to take her up on Saturday so she doesn't have to ride with her boss and so we can SHOP SHOP SHOP for some clothes for her and DS to wear on their honeymoon cruise!!!!! Wasn't that nice of me? :) So if you want a shopping companion on our cruise.....

My next favorite summer activity is swimming and soaking up the sun at our pool! Had a perfect day today--mid-90s and sunny!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!!!!!!

Donna
