February 27th 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

Haha ME TOO!! I am worried about the seasick thing, this being our first cruise...but I already have the dates picked out for my next one, and am bringing my deposit with me! :lmao:

Wondering if booking your next cruise on board is the best deal? I heard you get like $350 on board credit but waiting for the next kids free offer seems likes a better deal to me? wonder if Disney will offer it again? :confused3

I would love to book another KSF and I think even if you book onboard, I heard you can transfer your ressie to another date/time while keeping discounts and OBC (I will confirm this onboard). So, if there happens to be another KSF free offer we'll figure out which offer gives the better bang for our buck... :teacher: I doubt they'll let you have both offers though which would be awesome!
The only thing keeping us happy at the thought of next week going by at the speed of light is bringing our deposit for the next one! :rotfl: It helps that you only have to give 1/2 the deposit than the normal. :cloud9:
I think the OBC depends on your castaway cay club member status and the # of nights you book.

the seasick part is the only thing I am nervous about!!! positive vibes!!!:woohoo:

My hubby has a prescription for the behind the ear patch, which we heard is the best as it doesn't make you drowsy like dramamine does. He gets horrible seasickness (i.e. in stick shift cars). I will be 10 weeks preggo and so I am going to try to avoid taking anything :scared1: The only thing going for me is that the morning sickness (which is any time of the day but, especially evening sickness) seems to calm when my belly is full--good thing we'll have all that deliciousness all around us and 24 hrs a day! :rotfl:

The consensus seems to be that's it's rough getting in and out of LA but, once we're in Mexico the weather and the waves are much nicer...
:woohoo:

How do you all feel after you disembark? I heard you get jelly legs for a few days after? We're planning on driving home (Las Vegas) the same day... :confused3 and wondering if we need time to acclimate?

Also, please feel free to say hi to us at the Port... we plan on being there super early! I am 5'2 and my hubby is 6'2" and we have two boys who are perpetually attached to us and to an electronic device (i.e. DS, ipod, etc...). We'll probably try to find the quietest corner.

I don't know if we'll make it to the meet at 2:30, I think my hubby wanted to do the ship tour. Has anyone set up a second time?
:grouphug:

I remember after our first cruise we definately felt like we were still on the boat once we were on land (it felt like we were still rocking)...however, since then, we have never had that feeling. But, I don't think you will have any problems driving back home..unless you want an excuse to do some extra things on Sunday:goodvibes

Awesome! We can be driving buddies! :car: :car:

We did hear about the rocking feeling and as we aren't planning on going to work until Tuesday :cool2:, we'll see how it is :rotfl::rotfl: after we disembark!

We'll be driving back to Vegas on Sunday also! I hadn't really thought about how we would feel after getting off the boat. DH doesn't get seasick/motion sick like I do, good thing he will be driving. I will probably be hung and sleeping it off. :rolleyes1

We will be driving back to Utah on Sunday. It is about a 9 hour drive or so. Wish we could fly, but with 10 people, it is just makes more sense.

Im I the only one who hasn't starting packing? ....we only live 45 min from port so I think we are okay.

Hard to pack what seems like half the house without the kids seeing ...we are keeping the cruise a secret ;)

That has been very hard for me as well...the boys still don't know about the cruise, but on V-day we told them we are going to California. So at least they know why the suitcases are out...we just don't have the luck to be so close to the port. We will be flying out tomorrow and I have one whole suitcase I have to check full of F/E gifts!:scared1: I am trying to get most of our clothes on another big suitcase to check and then hopefully the rest will fit in carry on luggage...I hate having to pay for my bags! As long as the boys don't open up the suitcase with all the F/E stuff, we should be ok. I think if we lived within driving distance, I would be taking so much more!

:grouphug: hello my wife , 1 year old son and i will be on the disney wonder 2/27/11 and are looking for other gay/lesbian familys or gay "friendly" familys to hang out with.. this is our 1st dis cruise and we want to have a great time and feel comfortable! than you!

Yep, I am going to move it to the Meets Thread where you will most likely get more response.

Hi bfriendly82! we are cruising for the first time with a busy toddler too:thumbsup2
I am soooo excited! Started packing and dh thought i was insane because dd has a full suitcase to herself :rotfl2:
We won't be able to meet at 2:30 because we want to tour the ship so if anyone is setting up another time later we would love to meet everyone :grouphug:
I got seabands and i highly recommend them for motion sick people!:thumbsup2

Weather.com and KTLA LA local news is now saying 0% chance of precipitation on Sunday... Wooho!

I guess our "Please no Rain" dance is working! :dance3:

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll try those seabands! Just in case! :boat:

I don't think anyone has suggested a second meet day... maybe on the 2nd day? I don't know enough about the ship to recommend a place....

On a somewhat insignificant side note, one of my nails broke! Argh! I've been trying to grow it for a month for a mani pedi :sad2:...

Yay another vegas family!! What part of Vegas? We are in Aliante...

We aren't gay/lesbian, but we're very friendly :thumbsup2

I haven't logged in since January 9th. Ugh. Life's just so busy. By now you've all probably forgotten who I am. I am Kirsten and I'll be traveling with my husband Mark and our twin girls (six years old). This is our first cruise and we aren't really Disney people (shh, that's a secret). The girls love Disney movies, but I haven't focused on the product much and they have never been to DL or WDW. However, when looking into the idea of a cruise, it quickly became obvious that DCL was the best fit for us, so here we go :goodvibes

We fly into LAX on Saturday and are staying by the port that night. We are so excited . We aren't doing the FE and I'm not positive we can make the 2:30 meet (we are hoping to do the tour since it's our first time on a boat), but I do hope to see you all around! pirate:
