Jeeze, go out of the office for 1/2 a day and the board fills up

4. Mickey swatches - These are actually paint swatches for the Disney brand paint at Home Depot. They are shaped like Mickey Mouse. The "official" colour for the DIS is Alien Green. Some folks just pin the swatches to their shirts for the DIS meets. Others really go to town and customize them. I think DW has incorporated the color into a tie-dyed sweatshirt she made for the cruise.

Rick

I am sure the board will fill a lot over the next 2 weeks, so no slacking off... :lmao:

as for the Mickey Swatch, is this a pic of them [behind the ladies?]
and are we suppose to only have the Alien Green, or can we pick our own color(s)

Yep, that's them. Alien Green has become the defacto official colour for the DIS . . .

Yikes!

I have Gamma Sector Green, Sonic Boom Green,
and Friendly Forest Green but no Alien Green. :confused3
I thought I had taken all the greens they had.

Maybe I could be the girl in Gamma Ray Red! LOL

does anyone have an opinion as to whether or not the walking tour in key west is worth the time and money? Could we just do it on our own, or does the guide really provide good information? Thanks

Does anyone have a 12-yr-old daughter going that will want to hang out in the club with Molly?

Hi Tracy! :wave2:

I have a 12 year old daughter that would love to meet your Molly (I have a Molly too, but she is 4!)! You can PM me, if you would like, and we can exchange email addresses so the girls can meet before the cruise!

From what I've read, you can do your own walking tour in Key West. I belive the Passporter gives a good description of the sights. . . .

Thanks Feiste...

I found a thread on another part of the board that addressed the same things you mentioned. Jack will turn 5 June 2, so he'll be 4 years and 9 months (since it's the end of Feb/beginning of March). From what I've read they will probably allow him to move up, which make me so much more comfortable.

If your daughter doesn't mind a couple of boys you can tell her Jack and Max (7) will be in the club and would love to play with her!

Thanks again for your input, glad for the confirmation!

Melanie

Thanks for the offer. I would love for Grace to make some friends prior to going to the clubs. However, I should warn ou that she is pretty much a "girly, girl" (she didn't learn it from me, we're not sure where she gets it from) so I hope your boys are okay with that. My older daughter, Audrey fits herself fine into any situation, boys girls, older, younger, whatever, and as she is only slightly older than your oldest perhaps we could con all four of them into hanging out a little bit in the port prior to boarding the ship. Let me know what you think. What time is your family planning on arriving at the port?

on a review of one that just got back from there cruise, they said this about Key West:

"Key West is really picturesque. Very quaint looking.
We didn't have anything planned for Key West, so we just started walking. Wear walking shoes for Key West. I was in sandals, and I was sorry. We went to Pirate Soul, and Margarittaville for lunch. We also got Key Lime Pie, and DH got "Pie on a Stick". Then I wanted to get a charger for my camera, so we took the bus to the mall. I wasn't able to get the part I needed, but the bus took us through streets that we would never have seen. It was interesting to travel the way the locals do, and see where they live. "

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

I have been so focused on getting ready for the trip that I just realized that we are going to be cruising on Mardi Gras! I was wondering if anyone knows if Disney will do something to commemorate it? :confused3 Being a Northern girl, I have never made it to a Mardi Gras celebration and I thought it might be a fun thing to experience on the cruise!:cheer2: Just wondering!

Has anyone heard of this place for ordering basket or googies for a stateroom?

Hi!!!
I have only heard GREAT things about Shirley. So... Last summer I went over there and met her!!! She is WONDERFUL!!! I placed an order for 4 baskets back then and I just emailed her to remind her!!! She said all is under control. She will make baskets according to what you want and she gets them on the ship for I think $12 each basket (that is what the cruiseship charges her if I am not mistaken). She tries tomake it affordable for you and has all kinds of options. If you order (and if you are... I would order soon) tell her Karen Thacker said hello. She will know me. Tell her you are going on the same cruise. Also, ask her if she has a coupon book for Key West that she can put in there for you. Let me know how it turns out. There ARE posts that show pics and I have NEVER heard a negative thiong about Shirley and her baskets!
2 weeks today my sister comes in!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Bye guys! :wave2:

More props for Shirley!!!

I ordered baskets for the boys and flowers for DW last trip. Very nice!!! She is one WONDERful person who puts a lot of MAGIC into her work . . . .

We plan on arriving at the very earliest they will start checking us in, is that 11? This is a very last minute trip for us so we weren't able to get Palo reservations online...gotta try to snag some once onboard. So I'm sure we will have some time to kill hanging around port so playmates would be GREAT!

My boys will be fine with Little Miss Girly. They are not excessively crazy macho boys, just typically crazy boys!

HI, That would be me!! (His DW) I just created my profile :) How on earth do you all get the pictures in your signatures? It's awesome!

I've been emailing Shirley and she's wonderful! I asked if she had pokemon cards, as my son LOVES them!! She said she absolutely does! So those will be in my son's bucket along with other treats. :) I'm also getting my 3 little nieces buckets as well!! I can't wait! She did say though to call her after Valentine's day as she's getting slammed right now. I'm sure she's probably getting baskets and buckets ready for the next cruise coming up and it would be easier for her. I'm getting all my preferences ready now. Oh and she also sends out a card of your childs favorite Disney character to them in the mail before the cruise just saying hi and looking forward to seeing you.. something like that. :) And it's no charge at all! I'm so excited!!! only 2 weeks left! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

I work at home and I tend to work too much as it's alot of fun.. so this trip will get me away from my computer and relaxing with my family :) Yippee!!!

~Sally :yay:

PS.. Are there any other 9 yo (or there abouts) going on the cruise that are into Pokemon???

I was thinking about purchasing some beads and shipping them ahead to be put in the room before our arrival.

We are at Grand Cayman on Mardi Gras Day. We'll be missing Mardi Gras at home to be on the Magic.

When we cruised for Mardi Gras week in 2004, nothing special was done for that day. :(

Maybe "we" could all change that!

Do a little dance . . . :dancer: party:
Have a few drinks . . . :drinking1 :coffee:
Got docs tonight! Got docs tonight! :woohoo: :cheer2: :sail: :boat:

Just got a text message from DW, the docs have landed! :goodvibes :sunny: :teeth: :cloud9:

Now we just have to wait a couple of weeks . . . :hyper:

Rick

We are also from the South and missing Mardi Gras this year. I have plenty of beads I can bring if everyone decides to do something with the Mardi Gras theme. Just wont tell DH what the extra weight on the suitcase is until after we get there!!
