Hi everyone! I am looking forward to meeting anyone cruising with us Feb 23, 2015.

About me - This cruise will be my birthday gift to me (Feb 19th). I will be traveling with my son and daughter. DH has no desire to do a cruise. I have always wanted to do a Disney cruise even when it was by the Big Red Boat but circumstances prevented me and dh to do the Disney cruises. Now, I am not even waiting for dh to decide. I am taking the initiative and booking a cruise for me and the kids. I am worried about doing it by myself because of ds's autism. I was reading the ebook on the DCL by Passporter and it suggested I come to the forums and start/join a thread to meet others cruising when I was. I am hoping to meet others I can hang/meet up with during our cruise. I'm not asking for help with ds because I got that, I just need a mental break for me by meeting others. Usually I have dh to get that break since I am single parenting it, I am a feeling a little overwhelmed. Granted I have single parented WDW with my kids but I always had friends with me to help me have that mental break (dd is a pageant queen with Miss American Coed pageants and Nationals are in Orlando, so my pageant family/friends were there for me.) Again, I hope I didn't scare everyone reading this thread but I look forward to getting to know and meeting those cruising with us. I promise I am not one of "those" people you hide from, lol.

Not a bad start on the FE signups for over a year out from sailing! So far there are 10 rooms, 19 adults and 10 kids signed up to participate. :cool1:

Hopefully soon can I can get a spreadsheet finalized that everyone can access to track the FE signups for our cruise. :surfweb:

Thanks Scottie! We have gotten so much snow this winter! We are only suppose to get a couple of inches tonight, nothing like the 10 inches you are getting!

This will be mine and my dh 5th cruise with Disney but it has been many years since our last one, and they didn't really do FE back then. So, I'm looking forward to doing it, it seems like alot of fun!

Thanks for creating the spreadsheet!

The 4 FE groups for this adventure were created by combining signups from DIS and FB group for our cruise.

The FE Exchange signups for DIS are now Closed. This allows people time to order, make, assemble, personalize, shop, pack, etc their gifts. Thank you!!. If you previously signed up and haven't found where you are in the groups yet please send me a Private Message and I will try to help out. :)

For those who are new to the FE adventure or want to brush up, here are two DIS threads that share info/tips:

It's a ton of fun, not just for kids, and you can either give one gift to each cabin or a gift to each person in the cabin. You can give gifts a few times throughout the cruise or just once. No real set rules, just exchange and have fun! Gifts can be homemade or store-bought. That's part of the fun . . . the variety of gifts that everyone brings!

Guidelines for our Fish Extender Exchange:

1. Each cabin is to provide AT LEAST one (1) gift to each of the other cabins participating in the fish extender exchange group. You can provide a gift to each person within that cabin, just the kids, or one gift for the whole cabin...that is up to you. Of course, you are welcome to give more than one gift...but the minimum is one per participating stateroom.

2. As the group grows, we will split the overall group into smaller groups. When we do this, the option will remain to provide gifts to all rooms still if you like that option best.

3. All gifts are to be delivered between 6pm on Monday, February 23rd until Noon on Thursday, February 26th. This gives people time to still be able to pack their bags on the 26th before luggage needs to be placed outside in the evening.

4. Please consider including a tag with your DISboards user name/room number on the gift. This way everyone knows who the gift is from. This is not required though.

*If you prefer not to pack your gifts in your suitcase, there is information on the main cruise board for sending packages to the port ahead of time.

Here is a list of IDEAS of what you might want to bring for the FE Exchange on the cruise...to add to your packing list if you'd like:
1. The FE gifts that you are making/preparing

2. An FE pocket/hanger to hang outside your cabin. You can find them on eBay or Etsy by searching "Fish Extender" or you can make one or search online for other places.

3. A zip tie to help attach your FE Hanger. Some people have commented theirs have sadly walked away...but if you attach it with a zip tie...then it is not as likely to walk away.

4. Scissors to cut the zip tie when you are ready to pack.

Have Fun and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns at all!!

Just updated the spreadsheet to add a column for "Cruise Meet". That should help with the tracking of who wishes to join in for a DIS meet and greet:thumbsup2

My name is Jen and I'm traveling with my husband and 4 yr old boy. Looking to meet up with some other families with 4 or 5 yr old active boys :-) We just booked the cruise (2nd one), do missed the cut off sign up sheet. Also, looking for someone to run the 5k with. The hubby will be watching the boy during the run. Can't wait!! In Minnesota, so need the warmer temps badly:-)

Welcome Aboard! I’m sure temps in Bahamas vs Minnesota may be just a slight bit warmer next February! The cruise should do a good job thawing you out! :thumbsup2

If you would like to have your info added for the Fish Extender Exchange or Meet, just let me know and I will update the spreadsheet.

Hello Everyone,

We booked our first cruise EVER for 2/23/15 on the Dream. I am still learning about all the FE stuff as well as EVERYTHING ELSE. I am a little overwhelmed. Will be traveling with (at time of the cruise) a DS6 years, DS 12 years, and DD 15, myself and my DH. Very excited and very overwhelmed. Had to do something to get us out of our deep and freezing winter depression!:scared:

Fish Extenders

Welcome Aboard! Sure is nice to be able to dream of the warm sunny cruise when the weather is so cold and full of snow, isn't it!

I have updated the FE spreadsheet to include your provided info. Feel free to take a look and let me know if you want me to add anything.

Also, please let us know if you have any questions about Disney Cruises or FE.
