February 22-March 1: Is this a good time to go?

I've always had really great timing at Disney....until last year. We took our son on his first trip to Disneyworld June, 2014. Our first day, it was absolutely miserable. Kids were red faced, hot, unhappy, many of their parents were yelling at them, wait times posted on many rides were about 1 hour longer than what was posted. We showed up before opening and had to wait 2 hours in line to get into the park. I don't know if something was going on that day. We played games in line, told jokes, and DS went along with it in good spirit. But, after about 3 rides, he asked to go home (at 1pm :sad2:). So, we went ahead back to our hotel figuring that the next day would be better. The next day at Animal Kingdom was similarly crowded with frustrated, angry people and overheated children. I understand that summers are peak season, and I think peak season just isn't for us. So, last year, we just learned that we are Disney-crowd-wusses and we should reserve peak season for the more experienced (and probably more tolerant) Disney travelers. :)

So, now, DH and I brought up going back to Disney in 2015. Our son, who will be 8 said he doesn't want to go to Disneyworld. DH and I love Disneyworld. I think we're the only parents with an 8 year old boy that doesn't want to go to Disneyworld. ;) But, I really think he would like it if we went at a different time of year. So, I'm wondering if February 22-March 1 is a good time? Are we getting into Spring Break? Is there a better time from February - May to go?

Many thanks!

That's a pretty good time to go crowd-wise. You are a good week ahead of the very first spring break crowds.
