My friend and I were looking at going to the HS after hours on February 21 and staying that night but the hotel prices are insane. Is there something going on that weekend? I looked and didn’t see anything. The all star hotels are $200+

Mid/late February is a big winter break time period for many parts of the country.

Mardi Gras is 2/17 and is often a mass exodus of people from the state of Louisiana to Florida that week.

Last weekend of Festival of the Arts at Epcot.

Presidents’ Day is that week, lots of schools in the NE have that week off, with families heading to Florida. Plus, Disney often has rooms available for longer stays, but not single nights. Especially on weekends, so less expensive rooms might not be available. You can see the seasons & rates on Mousesavers. That week is “regular” season, with higher rates on Friday & Saturday nights.

Also with a only a one night Saturday stay.... a good real time example of how with each passing year Disney has been more and more aggressive with swings in rates over days of the week. Meaning, Friday/Saturday rates vs weekday rates can be pretty significant, especially over the course of a typical February. Visual with your All Stars example...(All Star Sports, Standard Room, Rack Rate).

That combined with a general public and AP winter/spring discount that doesn't apply to Friday/Saturdays that date = if you want to stay on property on a Saturday night, it's at the rack rate, unfortunately.

February 21 is the crossover Saturday between MA winter break and NH winter break. Some MA families will stay until the 22nd, but NH people start arriving on the night of the 20th or the 21st.

Even the bouncebacks were blocked out for Fridays/Saturdays....which is why we're booked for April break and not February break

Thank you everyone for the responses. We don’t have any breaks in February. I didn’t realize so many other schools/states did

Also the Youth World Flag Football Championship is Feb 19-22 at ESPN WWoS with 900 teams and 8000 athletes!

And throw in that February is a big month for Argentina 15s that have pretty much returned to pre Covid numbers.
