Wahoo Monday night we got power!
Wahoo Tuesday night we got internet!
Wahoo school/work was cancelled yesterday and today and who knows about tomorrow!
Thanks for all the lovely thoughts! I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it is to have a 70 degree house instead of a 50 degree house. Wearing vest, hat, and gloves inside got old really quick!
Many of my co-workers are still without power/internet. As of this morning my school was, too! I saw that the city is going to open several stations for people to bring their trees/branches. I took a walk yesterday and between the sidewalks and street is nothing but stacked branches the entire walk! The city is a hot mess, but we're getting there.
I hear a little one getting up so will come back to answer the questions.

, I will be spending part of my day today moving the para desk and homework area to the farthest counter at the back of the classroom. In my experience, asking people to wear their masks correctly backfires and becomes a rebellious act as it did with my custodian and lunch lady. I asked them to please wear their masks over their noses since they are role models to the students. It has resulted in them having a lot of "Oops! my mask slipped again!" moments in my room. Not cute. A friend of mine said that peoples' noses sticking out of their masks is the new middle finger. I tend to agree. Since I don't know anything about my new para, I don't want the same to happen. Best to keep her away from the kids and I as much as possible. I am bringing in a face shield for her to wear in close contact...which may signal a need for safety without putting her on the defensive.) But, Woo Hoo anyway...to getting some help.
