February 2014

Just wanted to let you know that when I searched your dates just now for 2 adults, 2 kids (I don't know your actual party size) I saw availability for regular rooms in all the values except ASMu. Check it out!

I just checked and it shows rooms at ALL value resorts. Disney online has gone wonky since they started this last set of testing. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. You can try again or just call the reservation hotline and avoid the computer all together! I highly suggest that option anyway because Sunday would be your 180 days for ADR so you could call to make sure you get your room and don't miss your ADR date. Just a suggestion. My ADR date is Monday and I am going to try online and phone because Disney online reservations just can't be trusted at the moment. hope you have better luck!:thumbsup2

Thanks guys! I will check again.
By the way I will probably be solo so I just need a standard room.

Ooooooooh!

I was playing around with the My Disney Experience thing, and you know how you can create an itinerary? Well I added Magic Kingdom for our first day, just for fun, and a message came up saying park hours would be available in 8 days! See screen shot below!

P.S. I'll be sharing this in multiple places because I know a lot of people have been waiting and may want to know, so I hope no ones gets annoyed!

But not on the website. If you call or use the chat feature on the Disney website, and give the CM your dates, they should tell you the park hours. If they don't, ask for someone else. Here are the hours for my dates in case they help anyone out!

Can you add me to the group?

We are going from Feb. 8 to Feb. 13- staying at Port Orleans Riverside. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Hey everyone!

First time poster. My family is planning a vacation in Feb. 2014. so add us to the list.

I thought I'd post our current plan and let everyone know what they think.

Me, my wife, my 10 year old daughter and my mother-in-law will be flying down to Orlando on Feb 13th.

Where we're staying is still up in the air. A friend of ours has generously offered to let us use his Time Share points free of charge. Because of this we are on the waiting list to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. If this comes through, that would be awesome! But I don't know the likely hood of that. Anybody know?

If that doesn't work, we have confirmed reservations at Port Orleans - French Quarter.

We'll be staying for six days. This will give us one day in each part, one day of a water park and one day to head over to Universal Studios - Islands of Adventure (the family is big Harry Potter fans).

As soon as dinner reservations are available, I'll be making those. Our plan is to try for Nine Dragons, The Rose and Crown Pub and The 50's Cafe.

Then we'll be flying back on the 20th.

We are really looking forward to it. We have tried to include our daughter in the plans, but we've told her a little lie. We said we'd be going in April. Won't she be surprised! :)

Hi Trion, welcome to Dis !!!

I think that generally sounds like a great plan, not sure about how likely it is for the points rental to work out, but I just wanted to give you another thought.

It is likely that there will be a discount available to you during your stay, there have been for the last few years during February. However it is also likely that the French Quarter will not be eligible for the discount. That resort is simply not often offered discounts because it is smaller and they don't need to offer them to book up their rooms.

If saving a couple hundred dollars (likely 20-30% off your room) appeals to you, you might think of a back-up moderate resort. Port Orleans River side for instance, or CSR or CBR. If you don't mind paying the extra couple hundred bucks to stay at POFQ, I am sure you will have an awesome time :)

ALso, surprises are always great !!! :)

Thanks for the info, Shaden. I think that when the discount becomes available, we'll reevaluate our plan and see what we can get. Saving money is always a plus for us!

Can't wait till February:cool1: Just finished making our ADR's for the first week in february!! Now just waiting to see what kind of discount will be offered. We've been saving for 2 years for this trip. The discount will depend on moderate vs deluxe with the wilderness lodge being our dream resort which we have been saving like crazy for. We love POR but have already stayed their twice before. I have a feeling that this trip will be extra magical with two DD's 8 and 4 that are princess crazy:flower3:

Hi, I am planning a mom, grandmothers, and daughter ( 4 years old) trip for February 2nd through 6th, 2014. We are sooooooooooooooooooo excited. I had to push a little for this trip- and I won them over!!!! So far we have purchased airfare only because it was such a great deal and didn't want to miss it ($214 per person round trip). I am leaning towords staying at Port Orleans Riverside and crossing my fingers for some sort of discount (part of my pitch to convince the grandmothers to go on the trip included the strong likelihood of a discount on dining or hotel) I have ADR's so far at Cinderella's Royal Table (yipee!), Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Ohana, and Narcooses!!! How can I be added to this thread? So Glad to be a part of it!
