February 2014 Car Rental Deal Watch

We arrive 2/12 - 2/20 (and can't wait!!). I booked months ago through E-Z Rent a Car for $241 standard size car - including all fees/taxes and includes additional driver. I know there's been discussion about this company and mixed reviews, but we've used them several times now and haven't had any issues. Perhaps a down side is that I don't usually see many discount codes for them. Anyone else out there using them and have a code?

The last few years we have gone at very busy times and we got a better deal by booking our pickup at the Dolphin rather than the airport. I know it seems strange but there was a huge price difference. We just took the Magical Express from the airport to our resort and then got a $8 cab to the Dolphin. We saved several hundred dollars by simply changing the pickup location. May be worth checking!

Thank you so much for this tip. I don't get it, but we too saved $150 on a week rental by picking up at the Dolphin and since we're staying at the Beach Club, it's not a problem to walk over to the Dolphin for the car. I saved even more money by picking Orlando International as the drop off location versus the Dolphin!!! CRAZY!!!

just reserved an economy thru dollar for feb 6 to 10, 4 days for $71 total!! that beats my national rate of $151 by a mile!

Just checked again, even with the Costco discount and $25 off the rate for Feb 15-24th Alamo for a minivan with all taxes and fees is $485.90 For an economy it's $445.24!!

I have not seen a coupon out for this time frame where did you find that? I need Feb 6-9

It was a Costco code. If you are a Costco member and want the code pm me and I'll give it to you, not sure if it still works or not but you could try.

Yes, they are. I'm actually shocked at how high they are. Usually you would see them coming down a bit by now, but I think they are about the worst I have ever seen. I wonder why.

I just reserved a car with Alamo - a Ford Escape - from Feb 12-21st. My total rate is $349. Not great but it is the best I have found and I have been looking. I do not want a car (unless I could find a mini van) so that makes it a little tougher. I had no coupons. Just my insider.

Be sure to check your local sites like grupon etc. I was able to get an economy car for 7 days including additional driver and insurance for just $185 (you could get a minivan for $235). It was a grupon from a local travel agent that booked the car through Avis. See you at the parks!!!

Yes - pls do - $235 for a minivan - cant beat that! We have a fold up wheel chair we take so vans make it so much easier.

Check Dollar - I just made a reservation for 9 days for $235 for a full size car. I used the city special!

Hi there,

We are going snow skiing for spring break and as a loyal dis boarder I was checking for codes. Most were giving me high prices for an SUV but code 5C06M gave me 266.31 for 5 days for an SUV. Coupon on dollar site said must complete travel by March 15 but had no start date. I have no idea if this will save you anything but I figured its worth a shot.
