February 2009 .....Anyone else going then?

I just can't get my brain wrapped around the temp/weather for Feb in Orlando. I have read all the "avg temps" and stuff, but cannot translate it into what I should be packing for my DD (5) to wear. Shorts? Jeans? Dresses? What??? Help! I am not concerned about myself, because I always wear pants, but she will not be comfortable if she is too hot. Please help if you have been to WDW in Feb before!! We will be there 2/18-3/4.
Thanks.

We usually go end of JAN or beginning of FEB. The weather is all over the place. You basically have to pack for hot and cold weather. We usually experience warm enough temps in the daytime that we can wear short sleeves, but when the sun goes down it can get cold.

I try to bring things that can be layered - like t-shirts that can be worn with long sleeves underneath. We also bring those sweatshirt style zipper jackets with a hood - very easy to pack and nice when it's cool, but not cold enough for coats. I pack just a few shorts, but mostly the boys will wear jeans or long pants. We also bring the coats because night-time can be really cold as well - especially when you're sitting for a parade or Fantasmic.

We'll be there from 2/21 - 3/1! Let's hope for great weather!!!

We are going February 21-28. My DD has Mardi Gras Break from school. This will be a trip my extended family. My family DH, me, DD(6)& DS(2) My parents, Sister, brother-in-law, nephew(2) and niece (almost 4 months). Also, possibly my grandmother.
We are staying in a 6 bedroom villa in Windsor Hills. We are excited since we will all be able to stay together but still have plenty of room to spread out.
We have been planning this trip since last January. It is the first trip for my sister's family. She has not been since we were kids.

We went a few years ago when Mardi Gras and President's week coincided and it was pretty crowded. But in the past when we have been on Mardi Gras week the crowds have been extremely low and manageable. We are hoping for this again. There is some kind of Cheer or Dance competition going on part of that week, because some friends of ours are going down for this. I am not sure the exact week.

Either way, we are SO Excited. My family LOVES all things Disney. Crowds or not, we will be at Disney so it will be fine.

We will be at SSR 2/21-2/28!! Can't wait! It will be our first stay as DVC members. I made all of our dining ressies and we are taking my DD age 4 and niece age 4 to the Bippidi Boppidi Boutique this trip! Looking forward to having the extra room of the 2 bedroom villa too! :goodvibes

I hear you! It is so hard to think about warm weather when I can't go outside without getting whipped by icy wind!

I'm thinking capris, cottons, and a hoodie for the evening. I'm kind of a wimp about cold so I will most likely bring a jacket, too!

Last time I was at WDW it was August and I was sweating constantly from the humidity and heat. I'm looking forward to the warm but cool temperature!

Well the nice thing about the $200 gift card is that the kids can each get a sweatshirt if what they brought isn't right and it's already paid for :) I'm with you though, wimp about the cold.

We are going to be at POP from 2/15-2/20 School vacation week, but we are both teachers so that is our time. We couldn't do the 4/3 thing, but Disney was accomodating and helped us with our reservatin and we got the $200 gift card.

I'm going the 8th - 14th with dh, dd15, ds 13, and dd11. Will be staying at BWV. We've been there 2x in Feb. The cheerleaders are fine unless they are on your plane! The weather is hit or miss. In 2007 we were swimming and in2006 it was 29 one night! But there are almost no lines. At night you can even ride some rides twice without getting off! We have ADR for every night because we are foodies!
We couldn't get one for LeCellier even though I called the day it became available. We have lunch for there and I'm trying to swap for a dinner on the boards!

Weather is hit or miss. Usually cool in morning and at night, can wear shorts during the day.

I pack shorts and capris for me and my DD4. I have one dress that she will wear. Generally we head to the parks with shorts on and a sweatshirt or light jacket. At least my legs will be warm from walking. Anything warmer than 30 (which is what it will be when we leave MA) is going to be great!

We are going Feb1-8!!!! 21 days, 5 hours, and 46 minutes accounting to the countdown!!

I'm hoping that all of us can wear jeans and t-shirts the whole time and hoodies at night/mornings. I'm bringing shorts, capris and thermal shirts for layering though...
