LOL - it always works that way!!! You may get lucky though and find something on sale - I know the Disney store last week had costume DIRT cheap!!! Check them out if one is near you. Good Luck!!!

I checked 2 Disney stores today and nothin'. I'll check a couple others tonight. Here I thought I was done with all the shopping. Oh well..I'm trying not to get my panties in a bunch we are going to Disney next week.

Can you stop at a grocery on the way to the ship or are you taking a shuttle?? If you are driving it is a 45 minute drive to the port so there's GOTTA be a liquor store on the way. Cocoa beach is RIGHT there. Where there is a beach, there is a liquor store . We rode to Cocoa beach one year and saw one of the Disney ships docked and people getting ready to board.

We are going on the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. We are taking a towncar from the hotel to the port so I guess we could stop. I didn't even think about that!!!

Hey Tara,

I would assume they do ~ I know they sell beer and YES it is expensive. Also, I know for CERTAIN they sell liquor at AKL!!! DH got some rum on our last trip, I believe they had a lot of things. So, if POFQ doesn't have it, take a ride over to the lodge!!!

So, remember a few months back when we were talking about costumes for the P&P party and I was disappointed that the kids didn't want to dress. Well guess what they tell me yesterday. They both want to dress!! WTH, I asked them right after Halloween I knew I would be able to get costumes dirt cheap, but noooooo they didn't want to dress. So looks like I'll either be paying for overnight shipping or will just hope I can find something in there size once we are down there.

Check the disneyshopping.com site. I found a Captain Jack costume for 15 dollars and Elizabeth Swan for 24 dollars. There costumes are on clearance.

Ugg. We are booked Feb 9-11th. A Friday thru a Monday. DH says he wants to move the Monday and come in on Thursday so he only misses a day and half instead of two full days of work. I can't find anything at WL at all to move to. I even did a full search and having trouble finding anything at all. I thought this was supposed to be a low travel time! Guess DH is going to have to suck it up or come in after us! LOL

Are there any other resorts with the bunk beds? This seems like a perfect thing for our toddler since it will be against the wall and put a kiddie catcher up.

POR Riverside has trundle beds but I was told by one CM that they try to leave those for 5 kids.

Poly has day beds in addition to two queens.

AKL has bunk beds.

FW Cabins have bunk beds, a double and a fold-down out of the wall double bed.

Can anyone think of anything else?

Tomorrow morning at 10:05 am (that's 4:05 am at WDW) it will be exactly one week until I will board the plane in Nuremberg ( to take me to Frankfurt to transfer onto the one to MCO)!!!!!!!

AKL has bunk beds - I have one booked!!!! DS loves them, we've gotten them the last 4 trips!!! Also, a lot of groups are coming in during that timeframe - mostly staying at the allstars and maybe a mod. that would explain the limited capacity avail. at the resorts. Don't worry though, they don't impact the parks very much at all!! Good Luck!

Also, Lori, the way you noted your German greeting on your pre-trip report, is absolutely correct! What will you have as German food?

Don't know !!!! Any kid friendly ideas?? Thanks for the positive comments about my German!!! hey, I am mostly German, maybe it is natural-hahaha!!! The food can be a dinner or a snack, but needs to be easy and kid friendly!!
We'll be doing it on Thursday prolly'!!

If I remember all the previous posts that I have read..it seems like you have been to Disney a few times during Mardi Gras. As you just said to the last poster..is it really typically not that crowded? For example, what is the longest you have ever had to wait for a ride?

Hey all...the kiddos are getting sick AGAIN!!! I don't know what to do. I have been running around with my Lysol wipes but to no avail. They are back to the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully this will be it and whatever they have will go far, far away and never return. Please Jesus, bless us with good news and good health at least until March.

I will pray for you children to get better. I think it is the crazy weather we have been having that is making us sick. It is hot one day and cold the next. My DD 15 has been coughing all week and I just started coughing today. I made the kids get a flu shot and I might go take one this week. Do you think it is too late for me to take one?

Thanks NHWX and Wendypooh about the bunk locations! I guess I will just get on the phones every day to see if something opens up! I love my WL but if I can move to another location and have the Bunk I will try it out!

We have gone to WDW for Mardi Gras the last 5 years (this will be our 7th trip, we went for Thanksgiving and Easter as well). Last year was a little more crowded that what we were used to, BUT it was Presidents Week AND Daytona 500, and it still was not bad. I don't think we waited more than 30 mins for the more popular rides. I do know that we were able to ride POTC at least 3 times and HM at least 4 times in one day, without fast passes. I really don't think it will be that bad this year.

I had made ADR's at Sci Fi for lunch for DD's 17th birthday on Mardi Gras day, and they were taking walk ups.

I could be wrong, but I could not imagine it being more crowded than last year.

thanks for the prayers. I need them at this point. I am almost ready to give up. DD has been sick since before the new year. I feel defeated.

Sorry yours are sick also. I hope they get better. The reports that I have seen..from dr. and such say that as long as the flu hasn't really started around here that it isn't too late for the shot. As far as I know..there really haven't been any cases of the flu around here.

thanks Carmen for the report. That is what I was hoping for. However, it may be a mute point for me if kiddos and I don't get better. Still hoping and praying for the best though. I have been planning this trip for sooo long now, I can't just give up now.

Lots of prayers going out for you and your children, Lillabelle! I know how hard it can be to travel with sick babies. If they do happen to have the flu, you can get Tamiflu and it will help knock it out quick. My DS had the flu last year and the medicine really helped.
