FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

We have so much snow that we haven't been able to see the grass since November! We're getting more today and it's currently 4 degrees outside. UGH! I can't wait to get on the plane to Florida. It's funny to think that I used to live in Florida, and I missed having cold weather. Maybe I was crazy!?

Oh well, only 3 more weeks for us. Then we'll get a brief break from winter. I can't wait!!!

:scared1: Yikes... the coldest weather we've been in was 32!!! I was just telling my boss how cold it was going to be here next week high of 54 and low 38. I couldn't even begin to imagine 4.

Wendy-don't know, I think she'll be Jack!! She really looks cute s Jack, even though she's allll girl!

I like our humid warm for most of the year weather. DH is in Columbus and we have the chance to move there so he won't have to travel as much and during this trip I asked him if he still wanted to stay here or move there and he said, "no way, it is miserable cold here". The snow is nice for a little bit, but not all the time. We may have to eventually, but holding off as long as possible.

I can tell you that 4 degrees is not fun at all. The temperature is even lower when you factor in the windchill. There are plenty of Minnesotans who embrace the cold and go cross country skiing and ice skating and all that. I'm not one of those people! If it's in the 20's, I'll go outside and do the skating and so forth, but when it's 10 or lower, I stay inside. My poor husband will be grilling steaks outside on Sunday for the football games. Let's hope the grill will start!

On another topic...does anyone here know what kind of groceries can be found at the resorts? I'm thinking of ordering some basics from Garden Grocer, but if the resorts have the essential items, I'll just buy them when we get there. We don't need anything too crazy...juice, bottled water, soda. I will also need to buy soymilk for my dairy-allergic son. That's the only somewhat unique thing I'll need to get that I can't pack in my suitcase.

Nope, I havent finished packing yet:rolleyes: Will be done this weekend for sure! :thumbsup2 Hitting Target today for our last stuff! How about you?

:woohoo: I am sooooo excited! :cheer2: :cool1: :dancer::dance3:

LOL - no, I'm not done packing yet!!! BUT, you should be 3 days ahead of me!!!! LOL

She's adorable, I'm sure she'll be too cute either way. As for the miserable weather, yeah, I like the warm days we usually have, this cold is just not good!!! My sister actually lived in Columbus when she first got married, yes indeedy it is cold and snowy a lot - stay here!!!! LOL

Amy ~ I'm not one of those people either!!! 20's and you'll go outside............. LOL NOT Me!!!! Brrrr I'd freeze to death!!! LOL

As for the resorts, they typically have the essentials, however, if you are getting an order from Garden Grocer, I'd just order it all from them. The resort prices can be high on things.

I wouldnt leave the house either, I'd probably want to be in bed all day.

There are some groceries but much more expensive than Garden Grocer.

Add me to the Febbers list Feb 8th thru 15th at Pop! Dis meet at Petals Pool 8th at 2pm anyone interested? Also at P&PP on the 9th for the fireworks and at AC in PI on the 13th 9pm !!

We live in Mandeville and often watch the MG parades on both the Southshore and Northshore. I keep reading about how great Spectro is at Mk. Do you think my kids (ages 4, 6, 8 & 12) will like it or will they be bored/disappointed b/c they are not throwing anything?

I have never seen Spectro so I would love to hear from the experts!

Howdy neighbor! I know we usually skip all the parades at WDW since we LIVE with them down here. Anyway, I read on TGM that it is that good-Spectro-so we may be one of the ones sitting and waiting for that one!
I only saw it once -I was 16!!

Wendypooh-we have BIRTHDAYS coming up !!! Not that we need reminders of it! I guess I am excited to be in WDW for it this time though!!

Lori

Can't answer for your kids but Spectro is awesome , all the day time parades can't compare The floats are beautiful some change from clear lights to colored and even the people have lights!

In you opinion, is getting the photopass ahead of time worth it?? I sort of regret not buying any photos from our DL trip last year b/c they were so expensive. Is it worth getting it though since we'll have soooooooo many digital photos from our own??? $100 is still kind'a high when we have so many pics already. Opinions, opinions!!!!

Lori

Lori, I like Photopass and get the CD ahead of time. It's the only way for me to get pics of all 5 of us together, and the character pictures always turn out better. Also, they'll put the ones on it from Character meals which means no buying a print there at the restaurant. And they'll be SO many unique characters out for the P&PP that I think the CD will be a fantastic buy. I'll probably take more than we usually do since I know it's paid for.

Oh, and we may get another 1-3" of snow tomorrow night and Saturday! Had a teacher staff meeting and dinner tonight, and it was a MARDI GRAS THEME! I smiled and thought of all my Feb friends. They even gave me a goofy Mardi Gras headband with jester points and bells to wear at the MK. So I'm ready to go now!
