Yes. Stand back people. Louisiana is coming to disney for Mardi Gras!!
I am speaking for a crew of 11 coming from Thibodaux.
We are arriving at POP on Feb 2 and going to the P&PP. All 1st timers.
Did someone say that we can skip Christmas? Man, I don't think my 2 girls will go for that!
We've got our shirts for LSU, Saints (yeah, we still love them), Nicholls State, Mardi Gras & ED White (our hometown high school that will be in the Friday parade)
Note: I'm a teacher & we just started voting for the calender for NEXT school year. They are trying to cut down Thanksgiving & Mardi Gras holidays! Of course we all voted against those. How else would we all be going to Disney w/o taking our kids out of school?

See ya'll soon!
Alison

Melanie, what time is your CRT reservation on 2/3? I think ours is at 10:20am or somewhere around that time.

We actually fly in on 2/2 and arrive at MCO at noon. We have ADRs at 4pm at CP for the P&PP that night.

DD has BBB at 8am and CRT at 9am. We might pass y'all on the way out!
:woohoo:

I made a ****oo!!! I was updating page 1 and lost my list of the minimeet!!!! I THINK I added most of us back after going through the thread, but please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE tell me if you are not on there!!!

Sabrina- I think you must be soo used to the earthquakes every 10 years. I like hurricanes-you see them coming, you know how bad they will be for the most part, you LEAVE town ASAP when they look like coming your way and the bad ones come every 30-40 years.
Is there any warning system for earthquakes??? Is there an earthquake "season"? I am asking seriously b/c I have no idea.

I must say that it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen besides my children and want to get my DH and kids out there to see Bodega Bay, etc... The vineyards were beautiful and stinky(vinegary), but I don't need to see it again. DH would like to see it once, though. When the time comes, I will hunt you down on the Disboards for places to stay out there that are reasonable by the coast-Bodega, Sebastopol-all up in there and more north. I would love to see those huge redwoods. We never found them as much as we drove around. We drove one night into San Francisco over the GG bridge and turned around b/c it was dark!! We didn't know where to go, so we headed back to Santa Rosa!

I was also surprised how FLAT Denver was. I mean, I know we were only at the airport, but there were thousands of homes on flat earth, far from the airport, no trees, or very little. it looked like the desert to me. I did see many homes in the beginning of the mountains, but not as many as on the ground. I thought maybe I was on the wrong side of the plane, but I was facing the other side on the way home and it wasn't much different.

I had this vision of Denver being in the middle of a mountain range. It was desert all the way then where the mountains started, Denver was right before them and a little into the mountains. It amazes me how desolate our country is in the middle, at least where I flew over from NOLA to Denver, then on to Oakland. We are so packed and busy down here with so much water and trees. It was a lovely flight and I loved seeing our country from the air-wishing I could get closer.

Well, i haven't had to productive of a day-see ya!!

On to tomorrow:teacher: !-lori

Nope there is no way to detect.

Sure I would love to help. Just a heads up if you decide you are going to come during summer make sure you make hotel ressies early, hotels on the central and northern coast book up fast!! We normally make our reservations around March/April for our summer vacations up north.

San Francisco is a great town to visit. Hopefully when you bring the family you take at least a full day trip to San Fran. There is lots to do. Visits Fisherman's Wharf, they have a small but nice aquarium and a nice boardwalk. Take a cruise to Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate. There is also this great company that does old style firetruck rides across the Golden Gate, my kids loved that. And you can't forget taking the kids on the Trolleys through China Town.

Also not to far of a drive, if I were you I would consider starting in San Franciso do a day or two, then drive down to Bodega Bay stay a night and day. Then head to the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, but don’t stay the night there, imo lodging is to expensive. Once your done with the boardwalk continue south on to Monterey Bay. Monterey Bay is gorgeous. There is a FABULOUS aquarium there and they have great seafood restaurants on the boardwalk. We rent surrey bikes there and just bike around the bike paths. They also have a great harbor cruise where you can see the California Sea Otters. Visit Cannery Row.

I am here when you are ready to come down. I'll help with what I can.

Thank you Sabrina!! I would say no to going in the summer. I am not much of a summer traveler unless it is a quick gulf coast long weekend. I think We'd like to go in the whale watching time-cold, I know. What is it Jan-March or something. Well, maybe we'd go then. I just found that whole area unfathomably beautiful. We have green, pines, water, bogs, swamps, a hill or 2, but very green. But not as colorful and green as up there. Breathtaking.

Honestly, our next trip will hopefully be to the east coast for some colonial history. I love using vacations as school days! We've only done it once-Chicago. BUT, as there is tons of history out west, maybe that will be next. I have my money well spent already, don't I!! Gott'a start saving, rrriiiiggghhhtttt after this WDW trip!!

It is very beautiful up there. Especially that drive from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay and from Santa Cruz to Monterey, beautiful.

Even though I won't be at the 2/2 PPP, I might be in the MK for Wishes before heading over to the Contemporary for our ADR at CG to see the fireworks. So if anyone happens to see me, please say hello:
