February 20, 2011 DREAM

I read that too! But you are probably right since these cruises are mainly preview they probably are not doing what they normally will do at least we hope. We love interacting with the cruise staff and love to participate in both the family and adult activities:goodvibes Can't believe how close we are to the actual sail date:banana: Looking forward to meeting everyone:thumbsup2

Yeah, hopefully I am right about the cruise staff not doing what they do on normal cruises and they will host more adult activities then the preview cruises, I mean I don't think Disney Cruise Line hired them to stand around, greet people and look pretty.

Hi everybody!! I have been terrible for keeping watch on this thread. I am trying to catch up but hope I haven't missed anything! When my ticker hit "41 days" I had a bit of a panic attack!! But I am feeling better now. I created my packing list and list of things I have to get done so I am not so terrified. I am kind of wishing it wasn't so close because that means it's just close to being over!!! I know, I know, NOT the way to think about it! Anyway, we have been in a deepfreeze here and tons and tons of snow and blowing snow and drifting snow...you get the idea! Looking forward to getting down to Florida for 6 days at WDW and then the most exciting thing of all - OUR DREAM!! I get misty eyes thinking about how incredible it's going to be! Hope you're all well and see you in 5 weeks!!

Totally getting excited- especially with the initial information that is coming in from the preview Dream cruises! I can't wait to see a 'Navigator' from the first 'regular' cruise.

Question for y'all- for those of you who are going to be at WDW before our cruise- how are you opting to get from WDW to the port? If you have done the town car thing- who have you had consistently good service with?

Can't wait to meet up with you too!

Liz

We booked a rental car from Budget at Downtown Disney to the Port for 23 hours for $29.99 so we are taking that. We'll pick it up at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, drive to the Port (maybe KSC depending on how tired out we are) and then return it at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. We are staying at Country Inn & Suites. Coming home, we are taking Disney transfers from the ship to the airport. I could get the same cheap price on a rental car but I know I will be so distraught leaving the ship, I didn't want to have to think about picking up a car. This way I stay with Disney until the last possible second!!

11 days till I go to the Orlando area for a work vacation and 34 more days till we cruise and all I can say is I'm so excited and I just can't hide it:cool1::goodvibes

We are staying at OKW pre cruise and BLT post cruise. We looked into transportation and opted for the Disney Bus. I think it was $210 rt if I remember correctly. Maybe not the best or the quickest but the quotes I was getting a few months ago were over $300 rt. I just realized how close we are to leaving. Marla can I ask you a question. How do you do it. I want to travel as much as you. Do you have a secret? I think it is great that you travel so much. I work with the elderly and that is always their biggest regret not doing more when they could.

I read on another thread there is a gate and door to Concierge Rooms, so there could be a problem for the FE for anyone staying in those rooms

How many do we have in Concierge Cabins?? We may have to work out something to get them their FE gifts since there is a locked gate. Do we know which cabin numbers are at that level - sorry - I haven't had a chance to look into that yet but I can if we don't know that yet :thumbsup2

Less than 5 weeks now....woooo hooooo!

We got 6 inches of snow in GA last Sunday night into Monday and it shut us down for a week since we don't have any equipment and anything that melted during the day would refreeze at night. For a northern girl "transplanted" here, it is always crazy to see how we shut down but it's just not safe for anyone to be out there when the roads are sheets of us. So, our kids went back to school for 4 days after Christmas Break and then have 6 school days off due to today's holiday! CRAZY! Going to be so hard to get them up tomorrow for school :scared1:

Have a great day, everyone!

Well lucky for this group no one is in a concierge cabin, asked the two groups that I thought might be and they aren't so FE group is good unless people get upgraded or try to upgrade.

Anyone doing universal pre-cruise? We haven't been in so long since we are always going to WDW that the kids want to try universal because of HP. Staying at the HRH for 4 nights before.

We are thinking of going to Universal Studios as well, my DD15 would like to see Harry Potter.

Thanks for the replys on WDW-Port transport- wow- that $29.99 Budget rental was quite a fine! :thumbsup2

Now my next random question- I've just finished doing my 'online check in' (yay me- makes it feel like our cruise is really close) but I can't find where to do the pre-registration for the kids clubs. I looked all around the site...and even got an e-mail reminding me to pre-register. Has anybody pre-registered their child and if so, just where on the website did you find it. :confused3

Could be it is the end of the work day and my eyes aren't working properly!

Thanks!

We are checking into the HRH on Wednesday before the cruise and staying there until Sunday morning. So maybe the girls could get together even before we board if you guys are going to be at universal! We might go over to Disney for a day...we just don't know how much time universal will take us but we have a rental car so we can decide then. Jamie emailed Jennifer tonight and Jamie was so excited about getting to talk to some of the girls before hand.

Thanks, see you soon....Julie

I created my packing list and list of things I have to get done so I am not so terrified.

My DW and DD make fun of me as I don't have a problem with packing. Just repacking to make sure I have everything. When we complete one Disney Vacation and get home and my DW get the wash done from our just completed trip I repack for our next Disney Trip even though one may not be on the schedule yet.

Looking forward to getting down to Florida for 6 days at WDW and then the most exciting thing of all - OUR DREAM!!

DW and myself will be down at WDW Scopa Towers (Pop Century) for 5 days before our DD arives with 2 of our teanage grandchildren for the Cruise. Just hope it will be warmer than it was when we were down in December.

Will be doing the Disney Alaskin cruse in August.

while we aren't going to Universal before or after the cruise we will be going to Universal on our trip to Orlando which is January 28th-February 2nd:goodvibes

We will be getting to Kissimmee either Friday night or Saturday before the cruise (probably fri night). Not sure what we are doing yet for Sat. Maybe just hang out at my in-law's pool or go to beach, maybe Seaworld? But we will be staying after the cruise & WDW is in the plans.

I read on the main DCL forums that Good Morning America will be broadcasting from the Dream this week. I'm not sure if it's Wed-Fri or just Fri, but I'll be recording it. Can't believe how close it's getting!

Another 6 inches of snow and now ice. Is it Feb. 20th yet?

Very crazy weather, this ice after the snow just makes it all the worse. If it keeps up there will be trees and limbs coming down, and that will mean power outages. :sad1:

So we had an unexpected "ice" day here... roads were too slippery this morning before the thaw and our new superintendent cancelled schools, to the envy of the neighboring towns (or at least the kids, lol)!

Spent the 4 day weekend on fe gifts and reading all the reports coming from the Dream. I can't wait for this next month to go by!

We waited too long to make a decision about the Aquaventure in Nassau :( It's all filled up.

Cool (for the kids at least) about school being cancelled. We were watching to see if it would be cancelled here, but not "enough" ice I guess. They are now hoping it will snow enough tonight to cancel tomorrow (ice last night, snow tonight).

We still haven't figured out what we are doing in Nassau. We'd better figure it out soon!

-Renee
