If cruisers wish to meet the first day (I recommend this) we should meet at 3pm in The Promenade Lounge on deck 3 aft. This area seemed to work well on our previous cruises. It is right near Parrot Cay (the best place for your embarkation buffet) and usually not busy. We can meet up for half an hour before THE DRILL. This does allow the swapping of room numbers for anyone that was changed at port.

That sounds good to me.....

My son is 13 and an experienced cruiser also. He loves to read and play video games so I am not sure if he shares the same interests with your son but we can get them communicating before the cruise.

My son is 11 1/2 and Loves video games too...reading not so much, but he loves to draw!

We sure have been digging ourselves out of the snow here today!

We were also digging ourselves out of the snow earlier this week. We had a total of 9 inches of snow, followed with sleet and freezing rain that left about a 1/4 inch of ice on top of it. The kids have been out of school since Monday!!!! Just remember though, that we live in the South, and the world comes to a grinding stop with a flurry!! Seriously...the roads were not treated sufficiently, and there is still a lot of ice. They said on the news that they had ran out of chemicals to treat the roads and were expecting more to be delivered, but it was not able to arrive due to the weather and road conditions! Oh well, the kids are loving it right now. We'll see how they feel when they have to make up at least 4 snow days at school!

Denisees: That sounds great about the kids. Both of my kids are pretty outgoing and love meeting new people, so they should have a great time! I've been talking with them about the kids club, and they have already started saying that they can't wait to go on the cruise so that they can go play while we go to the spa! I have literally had to say, "Make sure you save some time for Mom and Dad."

I think that the meet up time posted earlier sounds good to me. We would already be getting ready for the drill I guess, so it sounds like it would be convenient for most people.

So, how dressed up are you guys getting for formal night, and are you bringing any pirate gear for the pirate party?

Meeting at 3 works for us too! Lucked out and got all of our FE gifts today. Now to package them up!

We got about 2 feet of snow here. It so pretty - wonder how long I am going to be thinking that!

We won't be at the meet due to a nap b4 the drill. We are bringing pirate costumes for pirate night. For formal night, DH is bringing his tux & I am bringing a floor length gown. The boys will be in shirt, slacks, & tie.

LOL! Well, DH has a tux, so he said he wants to wear it which means I have to dress up too.

I think that dressing up sounds like fun because we really never do it anymore! I think DH is going to wear a suit, and I am in the process of looking for a dress....and let me tell you, it will be a process!

It sounds like some of us are in agreement for the meet at 3pm the first day of the cruise, I will bring name tags. My wife and I always dress up for dinner especially formal night with tux and gown our DS too. We really look forward to this because we do not get to do it the rest of the year. One small tip, do not worry about keeping your clothes wrinkle free in your packing. Your stateroom will have a laundry bag for dry cleaning and pressing, just send out all your clothes the first night (leave one set for dinner that evening). They will be back in your romm the next day and I think for all of our clothes it came to around $30.00, well worth it once you see the line for the iron in the laundry room.

Another 15 in of snow here on top of the 22 we had the day after Xmas.... Very ready to Cruise!!!!

Since pirate night starts so late do the younger kids go? Would love for them to but not sure they will last- I even bought cute costumes for them after Halloween...... What do you all think?

Also-- what kind of clothes (temp. Wise) are you all packing--- I cked weather ch. And it says high 60s this week- to low 80sfor key west, GC, and Coz.- Coz being the warmest..... So I'm thinking less tank tops and more short sleeves and sweaters for evening..... Keep in mind it's 21F today so 60 will feelmlike heaven!!! Your thoughts?

I will be taking our kids to the pirate party, but don't expect to stay long. I am a little worried about the fireworks b/c my boys don't like being close to them at the parks or July 4th. I have a feeling we will be heading back to the room when they start.
They do the character show b4 the fireworks, right? So then at least the boys can see that.

i dont mind...BUT our door is only 2 doors away from the Teen club....Not sure how long that would last...someone else offered a bit ago....maybe someone on a higher/quieter deck can just post CHANGES>..i dont think we need to post every cabin/everyones info........

Feb 19 Cruise:

We have now decided to leave a few days early for Florida! I’m done with this snow & cold in NH ! We are now leaving Tuesday night Feb 15! We will have Wed, Thursday and Friday in FL before the cruise! Let the new countdown begin and YEs, we are TERRIBLE parents who are taking their kids out of school for 3 days....

DIS MEET: meet at 3pm in The Promenade Lounge on deck 3 aft on Saturday . It is right near Parrot Cay…. PLEASE , even just come for 5 minutes to say hi to everyone, name to a face and have the kids meet! TRAVISX4 will bring the : hello my name is: Tags, lol…… We will have to figure a set place or Code word of where to meet so you all can find all of us easily. Anyone have any good ideas?

For the meet the promenade lounge is a very small area prior to arriving at Parrot Cay and it is the same deck that you enter the ship on, we will probably have the place to ourselves.

For Pirate night the characters do their show prior to the fireworks and I have seen many kids up that late, the adults usually tire before the kids do.

Hi Everyone,

We will be cruising with you! Our desktop died on Christmas eve as the kids were tracking Santa on Norad. We now have it back!! I have 42 pages of posts to read but looking forward to it. We are:

We will be arriving on Friday and spending the day at the Beach Club and Epcot before getting to the port on Saturday. This is our 4th cruise and our second Western.
