A friend of ours just took this cruise w/his family over Christmas & had a great time. They had some rough weather in Grand Cayman & all water excursions were canceled. Otherwise, he said they really enjoyed cruise & ports.

The last time we were in Grand Cayman, we were the first cruise ship allowed to dock there since the big hurricane. The island was decimated. We were happy to bring some tourist dollars to them to help in their recovery but everything was closed and a terrible mess.

We are really looking forward to visiting again now that everything has been restored!

just spent some time reading tips abt what to bring-- so excited!!!-- apparently the #1 tip is not to pack as much as you think....

wcw- Skye is excited too as well as lil sis Finnley-- she will be tagging along w/ Julianna too I am sure!--- their poor lil bro-- he will have to hang with mom, dad and gramma........

remed- my DD Finnley will be 5 in June and would love to meet up w/ your Katie-- my DD Skye 7- for Ethan too-- she actually has some good friends that are boys in school so maybe they can be pals too!?
My kids always have a good time making new friends--- they are getting really excited-- started a count-down on their calendar!!

btw- FE ?--- do we have any type of sched of when we hand out the FE gifts? dont want to all hand out the first day.....

i dont think we need a schedule...i know for me i will give them out within the first few days.....I think you guys can give them out whenever, i just say do it by Thursday Night ( for packing reasons)

I am so excited about our trip. Dh asked me last night if I had made any plans or signed the kids up for anything. Ummm...yeah! i showed him the excel spreadsheet when we got home complete with passwords, FEs, schedule & packing list! Yeah-he's a bit slow to jump on the bus but getting on none the less.

Our kids are 5 (Elizabeth) & 7 (Alex)-I cannot wait for them to meet folks. Maybe dear ZhuZhu??

I love the "President of the Carribbean" pic. ive mentioned it a few time with no response-I feel like Bill! I am totally using it!

Thanks Rachel, yes they are boys and I am an idiot when it comes to all the abbreviations.
Does anyone have any good packing tips for a cruise. I assume the room is going to be tight and I tend to overpack.
Also, how dressed up do you have to get for Palo? My DH wears a suit and tie everyday and is not looking forward to wearing one on our vacation

....and these past few weeks are why we're flying in a day before....

the airlines are ready to cancel flights at a moment's notice and airports are loused up along the East coast...

at least now we have the option of getting out even earlier via automobile if absolutely necessary.....

I'd rather not use our trip insurance if at all possible

another snow storm coming--- I rem. thinking last year at this time- best we book our flight a day or 2 earlier bc there was a storm last year around that sat we would have left!!like the 19th or 20th...... already told my DH I will be watching the weather that week and we will be outta here if there is a storm coming!!!!!!!!

showed the kids the boards of the pics of the day and the food---- everyonen is getting excited and started a countdown on their calendar!!!!--- putting together my FE gifts during the snow day tomorrow!!!!

If there are ANy people who have decided they Now want to do the swapping of gifts/ FISH EXTENDERS , you guys are More than Welcome to make another swap list to swap with each other...we just cannot add to the original final list we have..HOPE that helps !!!

If cruisers wish to meet the first day (I recommend this) we should meet at 3pm in The Promenade Lounge on deck 3 aft. This area seemed to work well on our previous cruises. It is right near Parrot Cay (the best place for your embarkation buffet) and usually not busy. We can meet up for half an hour before THE DRILL. This does allow the swapping of room numbers for anyone that was changed at port.

My son is 13 and an experienced cruiser also. He loves to read and play video games so I am not sure if he shares the same interests with your son but we can get them communicating before the cruise.
