Just got a call from my travel agent and our cruise docs are in. Will be heading over there in about 45 minutes to pick them up!! Yahoooooooo!!

rochester ny here!! weather is awfully cold, my dh cannot take vacation due to his job, he works for the highway dept, so he has to be available to take care of the roads. just dd6 and myself are cruising, my oldest son will join us after the cruise on the 22nd to do wdw with us.

The weather was just plaine nasty in south central Michigan (outside Lansing) all weekend with windchills almost -20. We started out with a very mild winter, but Mother Nature is certainly making up for it. I have 2 horses and wanted to bring them in the house!!! Ya, I know.......

Received my cruise docs on Friday afternoon from my TA. Like a kid at Christmas to say the least!! We fly in early Sunday morning and probably won't get to the cruise terminal much before 12:30-1 pm either.

I too can't believe more cruisers aren't chiming in to this thread???? I know the cruise isn't sold out yet, which is why we are hoping for that magical upgrade?? If not, we will just be happy to be there period. We are in rooms 6067, 6069 and 6071. It would be nice to put faces to some of the folks participating in this thread. Sorry your DH can't make it...I've driven thru upstate NY a number of times this time of year visiting family in Mass., so I know what you're talking about regarding the roads!!

I woke up this morning and when I went to start my car there was a package between the doors, yep the documents arrived, have no clue who brought them, never heard anything? we are in cabin 6007 a sideways cabin, inside, no magical upgrade yet? perhaps i will try for a paid upgrade at port. i cannot complain, i paid 429 each for the two of us for this cat 11 from ap discount and also got a 75 shipboard credit. i can't wait!!

we all seem to be on deck six? anyone doing door signs? i wanted to and had a hard time printing on the magnet sheets so i gave up, thinking of alternative to that. perhaps magnetic tape which i could not find at staples today. we are going for nine days, definitely overpacked, have to make final decisions once i have a better weather forecast. my suitcase is not happy

I did both boys names with nautical flags. I also did a "mardi gras at sea", DW got her undergrad degree at Tulane and lived in New Orleans for 4 years, we go back twice a year to have alot of fun. I am having a king cake shipped from NO to the perfect gift and they are also doing a mardi gras basket as a surprise.

I got the magnetic paper from staples and it worked great. We aldo did a 8x10 for my FIL's room, he's also on deck 6. I am trying to talk him into sleep over in his room for the two gransons.

i definitely am challenged with the door signs, cannot seem to download disney fonts on my computer, time is running out, gotta get creative!! how fun about the mardi gras celebration for you, do you think there will be anything special on the ship for mardi gras?

Documents came, no upgrade, darn, dug out the suitcases to use, have made copies of all the flight info, room reservations, car rentals, ship info, that file alone should take up most of the suitcase. We're flying out of Syracuse too, we live WAY upstate near Canada and we're doing the Catamaran/snorkeling at Nassau, deep sea fishing at CC. Asked my family if I was making our vacation too busy and should I cancel the snorkeling to give us more downtime and got a big pouty "but Mom, I've never seen a real colored fish under water" We can't wait, sunshine, warmth, and I don't have to cook.

Hopefully they will do something special for Mardi Gras, we will be on CC on Fat Tuesday, pirate party that night so we will see.

we're doing the deep sea fishing 9-12:45, before it gets too hot plus we're morning people, there have been some pictures posted of different fish caught during this trip on the boards and my son is now super excited.

I filled out the Bahamas Immigration form already and downloaded all the other stuff for check-in. I have a very similar file that you do for everything. I finally weeded out receipts from my travel agent that I know I don't need. A couple of us decided to swim with the dolphins at Nassau....looks like that will take up a big chunk of the day. That's OK, I think they are such cool beings.

Syracuse eh?? I bet you have quite a bit of snow on the ground. I saw where the small towns of Mexico and Oswego will be measuring it by the feet for quite some time. I'm in south central Michigan. We haven't had alot of snow just the brutal cold. What a great time to "get outta Dodge"!!

Hi MaryQ. Just popped in to see everyone that is leaving soon and see that you are from Syracuse . lucky you to be getting out of here. We are not leaving till Halloween . we are are from near the Oswego area and we certainly got our fair share of snow.

so is anyone bringing costumes for pirate night? we plan on dressing up. i went to look at shore excursions for nassau and it seems they are all sold out? wanted to see what else was offered. we will be gone a total of nine days, with wdw, and i am definitely overpacking as usual. funny thing is you find favorites and it seems that is all you wear, so many things never get used. any overpackers out there like me?

I reminded my family (as I have been tagged with "honorary cruise director") about the pirate night. Will see what they come up with for costumes. Regarding the excursions, I understand that they do not put all the reservations on-line. That way if folks can't access the web site, they have an opportunity to make reservations at check-in. Yes, I can overpack with the best of them. I layed most everything out this past weekend and now I have the rest of the week to weed things out!! Did a little shopping this weekend to get nicer outfits for the restaurants (especially Palo's), but nothing fancy. I want to go as casual as possible. Expecting a winter storm tonight into Tueday night. This weather will be testing my patience until we are off the ground 8 am Sunday morning!!
