Wow, go to work for a day and look at what I missed...

Am truly sorry Glory-Anne, the least I could do is get the name right. Thats what I get for being in a hurry...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!! :bday:

A Sunday Adult meet at one of the tasting sounds good to me. Had no idea there was so many tasting. I'm there for all except for the beer ones, but DH will be there for those, I am sure.

Lisa, Harry(DH) and I will try and meet up with you for the first wine tasting...

I am getting closer to get things done and figuring out what we need to bring and what we can take on the plane. We don't get a meal on the plane, and with it being a 5 hour flight, I need to bring something a long. Cann't image the DS's going that long without something !!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I still have to get to home depot and try to find those green mickey's. If I cann't find them. I will have to try and make my own....

We are bringing stuff to make martini's in our room. I mean to say we are trying to ship it all... I love martin's best so we will try for that tasting. I sure wished I could have got into the spa days you gals are blessed with!

Lisa- I had my 4th baby on my 40th birthday so now I share a birthday with her :) a little different than being a grandma at 40. It sure would have been nice to have my kids earlier and all grown up by now. I have teenagers and preschoolers. BTW- any work on those yet??

Bryce was 2 months shy of 2 years old last February for the cruise. Jordan loved the club . . . she had just turned 5.

Lisa, my mom goes by Nana too. How old is your grandson? You're giving me hope that Flounder's will go well this trip.

Madison's first experience away from us, other than a relative, was Flounder's as well. She was only 3.5 months old though. She seemed to love it the first night, as there were only maybe 4 other kids in there and she was being rocked to sleep by a very nice CM. She actually cried when I took her back, so I guess she was very comfortable.

The last night we took her back and the experience wasn't as great. We actually signed up up for 2 hours every night so that we could bring her there for maybe an hour or so that she'd get comfortable with it so that we could enjoy Palo's our last night. Well we ended up not leaving her the 2 middle nights cause when we got there on night 2 the place was absolutely mobbed and it took about 15 minutes just for a CM to get to the front to check us in (and there were other families waiting to drop off too). When the CM finally came out we told her it was too crowded to leave Madison and she agreed and apologized and said they were pulling Club counselors out cause they needed more staff and they would be there within the half hour if we wanted to come back, but we didn't. She waived the cancellation fee due to the circumstances and we ended up cancelling the next night and moving Palo's to the earliest possible time and moving Flounder's too. Thinking that the earlier it was the fewer kids would be in there.

And that was true, but when we picked her up around 8:30 it was still pretty crowded. And though we had asked to be paged if she cried, we were not and she was hysterical and just falling asleep in her travel swing (which we brought down there so she'd have something familiar), doing that sniffle sob that babies do after they've been crying forever. It was the worst mommy moment I had up to that point-I felt so guilty for leaving her there to cry for 2 hours while I ate dinner.

But we're hoping for much better experiences this time around. Since Henry goes to bed at 6:30 I'm not so worried about him (other than the Palo brunch, every other Flounder's time is when he'll be sleeping) and Madison is almost 3 so she'll be fine. Angry at being dropped off maybe, but otherwise fine. She might be better about being left since her brother will be there too. She does like school a lot now, but when she started last September she cried at drop off everyday till mid-January. And she just transitioned to the 3yo class last week and so we've been dealing with morning tears again since then. She's fine once she's there, but it's that transition from mommy to teacher (or whoever) that does not go so well.

I've been superswamped lately and . . . . tomorrow, I have an 8 AM doctor appointment that could end up cancelling our cruise. I probably won't know until next week though. Please pray for me that I won't be undergoing surgery for the second time in 4 months! What a wonderful birthday present -- having a medical condition arise that might not be minor.

I'll post as soon as I get back from my appointment. Chances are, my GP will send me to a specialist.

I'll check the next time I am there. If they have some I'll let you (and anyone else who needs them) and I can send you some.

LISA, BEST WISHES TODAY. Sorry about the caps. How horrible to possibly have to cancel the cruises, but even worse to have another surgery and medical condition. I hope things go well with the dr!

Lisa, I am so sorry to hear that, I am sending you positive happy vibes, let us know after your appointment:grouphug:

Hello all!

I'm back from the doctor and he feels he found the problem that I'm having. I have been referred to a specialist but he said that he thinks his diagnosis is clear and is sending me just as a precaution and because I'm 45. He said that he doesn't feel that I need an immediate colonoscopy and set my appointment with the specialist for after the cruise!!!

This wasn't my usual doctor -- its the first time I've seen him (in the same practice as my usual doctors). I think I liked having someone objective look at my chart. Knowing my health risk factors (my dad died of a massive heart attack at age 45 years 6 weeks old), he changed my cholesterol medication to bring my numbers down even further than the current medication had. I think I'm going to see this doctor from now on.

So, now you know why my 45th birthday yesterday was so significant.

Well . . . for now, I'm okay. Have meds to clear my condition and hopefully they will work. Can we leave tomorrow instead of in 3 weeks?

Lisa,

I am so happy to hear that your doctor's appointment went well and that we will all be able to be together on the cruise. I hope that your medication works because it sounds like we have a Party Harty group.

22 DAYS TO GO!!!!!

This link was posted in my 2/24/07 cruise meet thread. One of the cruisers' brother had a kidney transplant and they have these "Donate Life" bracelets you can order. It isn't a strong lime green but it is a possibility that anyone that wants to order one to identify themself as a DISer would do so by contributing to a good cause.

Comments?

Glad that your appt went well. It's always nice to find a doctor you like.

I am so glad that you are OK, Lisa, that must be such a relief, I am also ready to go NOW.....
It is really cold here today and I have had enough of winter.
I think that bracelets are a good idea, I am just concerned that we would not have enough time to receive them, we are leaving in 19 days, and I know a few others are also.

OK the stress I just went through just reading from the top of this page to your last post Lisa!!!! I hope everything works out ok. It is really important to be proactive when it comes to your health!! That goes for everyone! It's the only body you get and only some of the pieces are transferrable! (and you need to be on long lists for those pieces!)

Either band is fine with me.
Glory-Anne

Lisa glad to hear everything went well with the Dr. Just alittle advice.. Don't check your symptons on the net...On the serious side If you have any question about a colonscopy let me know I just turned 35 and I had my first last month. Not to bad. I don't even recall getting dressed afterwards.

Our Home depot has alot of lime green Mickeys. I was planning on going back with my kids, if anyone else needs some. I could mail them out also.

Evelyn

Thanks everyone! I am very relieved! I must say that I am soooo tired. I don't think I slept much last night -- got to bed around 1:30 and up before 6 AM and the quality inbetween wasn't great.

Heading out to work.
