February 14-18, 2010 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Is anyone else coming from the West? I see folks from Midwest, the South and East, but I'm wondering if we are the only ones crazy enough to make the trip from out in CA? My entire family is getting together Saturday to do the final planning meeting...I can't believe it's finally HERE!!!!

It's the opposite direction but we're coming pretty far - from the north west of England!! We are going to CA in August - first time at Disneyland and we can't wait!!!! :woohoo:

I was born in CA, does that count? lol But I was rasied in the south. My parents had all 5 kids in LA then decided to move to ARK. Could never figure that one out. Then I married a military guy and we lived in MD for 13 years(loved it) now we are in GA. Back to the south, hmmm

JandJ: are you staying onsite at WDW b4 the trip? We are 5 days away from our flight to FL! And it's raining cats and dogs here right now, so I'm truly EXCITED! We are at POFQ, not sure where yet...we'll arrive Weds after 4pm, and hit the parks early Thursday morn! My girls are really excited as well!

My DD8 is a social butterfly  and my DD6 is more of the wallflower ...I'm curious to see if they stick together like glue, or find other groups to play with on the cruise! I'm sooo glad tomorrow is Friday, so I have 2 days to immerse myself in Disney packing and final planning! Oh yeah, and SuperBowl too! :cheer2:

Hi!

We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village. We will be there late Thursday night thru Sunday AM. We are so looking forward to it. We plan on spending Friday AM in DHS, although will head over to MK at night. Most of Saturday at MK, maybe EPCOT at night (have a reservation for LeCellier -- and since they are so hard to come by want to make our way over there).

Send me a PM if you would like to meet up at some point while in WDW -- might be a good way for the kids to get to know each other :) If not we can introduce them at our meet on Sunday.

Also, if it is ok, I may ask you some questions about Sunny CA -- we are planning our first trip to Disney Land and San Diego for August and I don't even know where to begin with planning.

We are expecting snow here tomorrow -- perfect weather to put me in cruise packing mode :)

Happy Packing and Enjoy the Superbowl :cheer2:....Jeannine

Just sent out the updated list email to the following:

BRONWYN
MAINEJENNIFER
NITA
MJCOLEMAN
JANDJ
KARRIE
CRUISENOW
MYNEVERLAND

Let me know if you don't get it!

I got the list - yippee! Thanks again Laura. :yay:

MJCOLEMAN - if you manage to upgrade could you post it on here please - I'm having the heebie jeebies about an inside cabin and I've just rung to ask about an upgrade but all they could offer me was the Royal Suite at $9,900!!!! :scared1: I don't think I could get that one past DH no matter how hard I try!

OH MY! My hopes of an upgrade may be gone :sad2:. I was planning on checking for an upgrade at the port. I guess I better be sure to pack a night light so I can have some artificial light.

Laura: I got mine, thanks.

I have only been on one cruise and we had an inside cabin. It wasn't that bad. We just left the bathroom light on and closed the door slightly. It kind of felt like a hotel room with the curtains pulled closed. We were never in there anyway, so it didn't bother us.

I just talked to Disney and they told me that right now the cruise is sold out. There may be some cancellations and such that might allow for an upgrade at the port. I will check when I get there just in case.

I just noticed that we have never posted out family's name.

It is myself (Jane), DH (John), DS7 (Josh) and DS5 (Jacob).

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Just think this time next week I will be frantically looking for that lost flipflop and where did I put that sunblock???:rotfl:

Well, our best bet may be Saturday night, as we are hoping to be at Epcot then. We are planning to do MK Thurs, AK/Epcot Fri, and DHS/Epcot Sat. Of course, I strained my hamstring last week (still recovering) and my mom ended up getting shingles a week ago, so we may be enjoying our resort by the 3rd day and resting up for the cruise! I'm still a newbie, so I don't have enough posts for a PM, I don't think. Let me know if you can PM me though, and maybe I can respond?

As for sunny (or rainy the past few weeks) CA, I have lived in both Northern and Southern, so I can provide my perspective from both areas! San Francisco and San Diego are both great places to visit, plus there is Tahoe up North and Big Bear to the South, with Yosemite smack dab in the middle of the state. Lots to offer, but you can't do North and South at the same time (unless you either LOVE to drive, have a full 2 weeks, or don't mind catching Southwest Airlines up and down the state!).

See ya'll soon!

Yea I am going to be sick thinking "now what am I forgetting?" !!!!!!! Can't believe we are sooooo close now!

This time next week I'll be having breakfast at the airport and getting ready to take off at 9am!

Cheers!

Jennifer

I've been keeping an eye on the weather, too! Will be soooo nice to go from 30/48 forecast for Dalton on Saturday/13th to 54/67 in Cape Canaveral! PRAYING for good weather the entire week!

This time next week we will be in the truck (aka Dawgmobile) hopefully close to Macon on I-75 SOUTHBOUND! We are planning to load everything on Friday evening, have a little Bon Voyage party with Sang, and around 6am Saturday morning pull out of the driveway, even if we are still in our PJs!

Started packing this morning! Woo hoo! I've also been meaning to fill in our family names and keep forgetting. It's myself (Bronwyn), DH (Bob), DD11 (Lauren) and DD9 (Maddie). Putting together my FE's to mail on Monday.

Weather is looking good!

Wow, you win for longest flight! I worked in Cobham for a week with my old company...I loved the area! My mom is actually from Guernsey. I can't wait to take my kids over there too...but I think we'll be sticking to the States for a few years yet...can't wait to meet you!

Ok, I am in so much trouble for booking this cruise on Daytona 500 race day. My husband's favorite driver (Martin) is on the pole(Leader) that day and my son's driver is( Earnhart Jr.) and he is 2nd. I am saying a little prayer that they will just this once show the race on the ship. :happytv:

Can't wait to meet everyone!

I see we aren't the only "j-family" ;)(me) Jeannine, (dh) Jim, (dd7) Jessica and (ds6) James

Looking forward to meeting you all :goodvibes
