aljsdad... my niece and nephew are currently from Massachusetts. They lived in Ohio for 7 years and Maine for 7 years. They've been in MA for about 2.5.

I like the idea of something unique to recognize each other on the first day. My second & third cruises we had t-shirts made up for everyone. A little late to do that now but we could try something else. Will have to think about it.

I thought about having buttons made up and even attempted a design but I am not very creative. I went to www.wackybuttons.com, not very expensive and turn around time is very short. If someone creative would like to attempt it that would be great! Bandanas and bright rubber bracelets have also been suggested. Just wondering if people would actually wear them!

To save room in my luggage, I am shipping a flat rate box via USPS to our hotel that we are staying in the night before (2/13/10) filled with our FE stuff. If you happen to be staying at the Hyatt at the airport, here is the address that the concierge gave me:

I will probably send it the week of 2/1 just to make sure that it gets there in time. The concierge said that I could send it anytime, so I do not want to send it too early but want to make sure that it is there when we get there.

Sounds like a good idea. I know last time I sent a package to a friend in Orlando, it took over a week to get there. I'm thinking the week of the 1st will give plenty of time. Great tip!!

Hello Everyone!

Just back from volunteering with Children for Children an event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King. We registered thru the Disney Give a Day Get a Day promotion.

Our kids painted murals, made visors for a kids summer camp, made cat toys for local animal shelters and made a few fleece scarves for a homeless shelter. There were so many volunteers on site (I was told they were expecting over 2,000).

We are AP holders so I think we will be using a couple of vouchers for fast-passes and donating the other 2.

It was a wonderful experience - hope you don't mind me sharing

Now back to the cruise-- thanks again Laura for organizing the FE My kids are having a lot of fun looking for things to put in our goodie bags

Thanks for sharing! My niece, nephew & I have signed up and were hoping to do something today, but the organization was overwhelmed with volunteers and we couldn't get a time until the 30th. I have an AP and will be looking into the FPs too. Anyone know what rides you get FP's for? I'm wondering if they'll be like the Dream Fast Passes a couple years go.

Congratulations!!! After being on the 15-night and waiting a year and a half for a room assignment, I know what a great feeling that is!!



Sooo..... I had a holiday today that turned into a snow day and did some quick button designs. Let me know what you think. I'd be happy to make them up cheap with plastic button designs from WalMart and mail them out to anyone who wants one. And if anyone has other design suggestions, that'd be most welcome too!! I did the design in publisher and it looks much cleaner in that than the jpg file I linked.

Still looking into the silicone wristband thing as I think I'd wear that sooner than I'd wear a pin or button. Trying to see if there's anything generic/unique/cheap I can find. Any suggestions on colors/sayings?

I like both designs, what to choose? I like the Mickey but the green is for Disboards is cool too. I too have been looking at the bracelets online. I like both. I think I would only wear the button on the 1st day , but that would be ok. But the bracelet I would wear the entire trip. I think it would be cool to wear something to even spot each other in the terminal. Glad we still have 3 weeks, I have alot to plan still..

I vote for rubber wristbands too... Not sure if I'll get DH to wear it the whole time, but I will!

We usually wear laynards, so maybe a cheap and easy to see solution is to pin lime green Mickey ears or one of the above designs on to the laynard. I looked online for rubber bracelets, but there is a $75 set up fee to personalize. Alternatively Oriental Trading has cheap bracelets that are not a solid color, but they are usually various colors. They did have a solid white bracelet that you can personalize on your own, but one reviewer said you could not write on the bracelets with paint or fabric markers because it bled badly; however, you could glue stuff on the bracelet (12 for $4.99).

Hi Jennifer--

They are supposed to be like the Birthday FP's from last year -- a few key rides up to 5 people in your party and allows for immediate entry (rather than waiting for a designated time) -- will let you know, we will use them before the cruise

I was able to move the button graphics to a Word document. If anyone wants me to e-mail it to you, PM me your e-mail address. You can print them out and make your own. I got the buttons below at WalMart for less than $1 a piece. The front and back piece just pop together and you put your own graphic in the middle. I've used them on a couple WDW trips and the only thing I tend to do is seal them shut with super glue. They're not reusable then, but I've had a couple pop open and found out too late.
