February 12th, 2005 Western. Who's going???

Rifgirlsmom. I've got you beat, it's 0° here right now. When I woke up, it was -7°. SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had Sunday School Christmas program today and the school Christmas program on Tuesday. I can't wait until Christmas is over so I can focus on the cruise. LOL

- 7, Gasp :earseek: , and here I thought +single digits was bad. Although weather.com says it feels like it is -11. Can't wait for warm sunny weather.
Jen you are more than making up for that warm sunny weather you had in Texas. Hope you savored it enough to get you through to Feb.

Any of you have snow? We have just a few inches.

Are all of your kids in school next week? Mine are off until after the 1st of the yr. But then again , they go to school until mid June- yuck.

Looking forward to telling the kids our plans....I'm just about bursting. TTYL

We've only had about half an inch of snow so far. I'm starting to think that's the reason I've had a hard time getting into the holiday spirit. Or maybe it's the fact that our principal decided that we need to be in school until the 22nd??? Oh well, whatever it is, I'm hitting panic mode trying to get everything done. LOL

Not much warmer this am. Kids are off till 1st of year, but I'm not off till 12-24. So off to daycare. They are happy to play all day. Still very cold this am my car said -2, but its going to warm up enough to snow. The weather guy is saying 2-4 inchs after noon today. There is a inch or two now, but it blew so hard yesterday its packed right down. Sure looking forward to the warm weather. MY df just got back from a western cruise. Said somedays not all that warm but nice to doing stuff. Back to work

Wishing all a wonderfull Christmas Day. I could really use the sunshine & warm temps. About 1 degree, who knows what the wind chill is. Best Wishes to All.

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great Holiday! I can honestly tell you that I'm thrilled it's over with. LOL It just seems like Christmas is so much work and hype and before you know it, it's all over with and all you're left with is a mess house. :earseek:

So now I can focus on the cruise and getting ready for that! :Pinkbounc In other words, my poor girls will be stuck trying on a bunch of summer clothes to see what fits so we can start shopping for a few things to fill in the gaps in wardrobes. I'm sure they'll be thrilled. LOL And of course it also means that I'll go back on my diet and try to lose another 5 lbs before the cruise. That's probably the most important thing I have to do so I can really indulge on the cruise and not worry about if I do gain a little.

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I've last posted, but I thought I would let you know that it's cold down here in South Carolina also.
We have had temps below freezing over the last week with wind chills in the teens. Christmas Day was the coldest but the highs are going back up into the 50's later this week. There has been snow upstate but only freezing rain here along the coast.
The good news is that we had some friends just return from a Christmas cruise (not Disney) that went to the same ports we are going to. The temps in the Carib. were about 85 for the highs. Can't wait! Grand Cayman still has alot of hurricane damage, but they had a great time anyway.
See Ya'll soon.
Mike

I hope you all had a safe and happy New Years Eve. We just hung out at home playing games. I think I'm getting old because I'm a little achy this morning from sitting on the floor for so long. LOL

And just think, 6 weeks from today we'll be boarding the Magic and setting sail for a week of fun and sun! :flower1:

Wow, you think its cold where you are! I'm in Ontario, Canada and looking very forward to our very first Disney Cruise with my two boys, aged 7 and 10 where it will be warm and sunny (I hope). We are booked for the Western Caribbean for February 12 also.

Not really sure how to use this site but I'm sure it won't take long. If anyone has any extra tips for me feel free to let me know! How is the food? I'm hearing stories that it is 24 hours...I better find my way to those treadmills the first day...lol.

Have a great day.
Julia

Welcome Julia! I would imagine that it is quite cool up in Canada! The break from the cold will be nice in February but just remember, you do have to go back home when it's all over with. LOL

And about the food. I thought it was pretty good when we went last year. The only way that I know of to get food 24 hours a day is from room service. But during the day, there are several places you can go to find something yummy to eat. But definately the best food on the ship was at Palo the adult only restaurant. It was very nice and quiet and they have the best servers there! I left so full I thought my husband would have to roll me out. LOL If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I'm sure someone will try to help you out.

Just a quick post to bump us back up to the top. Only 5 more weeks. I'm getting terribly antsy waiting for our trip to begin! :jumping1:

Hey everyone, told the kids at Christmas about the cruise, they and their cousins are as excited as I am. Jen, what night did you eat at Palo?
Was debating about eating there. Sounds like it was worth it to you.
I had the flu over New Yrs, so should be healthy during the cruise.
Take Care

I'm thinking we'll eat there on Wednesday night. I also want to go to the brunch. When we did that last year I would say that brunch was just as good, if not better, than dinner. It was really fun because we had a large group of DIS people and we all went together. We even had a private dining room.

So have any of you booked excursions yet? And if you have, what are you doing? I just booked parasailing for dh and dd (8 yo) and a snorkling and Stingray City tour with Captain Marvins. I'm not planning anything for Key West or Cozumel but I could still change my mind. LOL

So far....we are thinking of Cpt Marvin's for stingray. The short excursion. Not sure which time we should book it....will try middle of day(11:15-1:15) if sold out will try am(8:30- 10:30). I am NOT a morning person :scared1: , so we will all be happier if I can sleep in. In Cozumel, we are planning to take a cab to the beach (Paradise Beach) and hang out. In Key West...may stay on the ship for most of day.
Jen, would you be interested in a DIS meet in Palo for brunch? Anyone else?
Sounds like a group brunch would be fun. If interested, how do we arrange this?

I think it would be really fun if we did. I think the way it worked last year is that one person just made the reservation for everyone. If I remember correctly she just got all of our names and room numbers and did it that way. I plan on being at port as early as possible so I guess I can take care of that if anyone wants to do it.

Count me and my DH in. Will check with my D-SIL and D-BIL to see if they are interested. Won't know for a week as they just left for a week's vacation/seminar in Las Vegas. If you could make a ressie for all, I would much appreciate it.

OK, once it gets a little closer to our sail date, I'll start collecting names and stateroom numbers so I can do that.

We should also set up a time for everyone from the board to meet. Last year we met in front of Studio Sea at 3pm. Just a quick meeting to put faces with all the names.

I cant believe only month away. I would love to do the brunch, will check with df & dfh. My girls are about driving me nuts, is it time yet?? At least they have basketball to keep them busy. Does anyone know how the bb courts work on boards. I assume the have basketballs on board. I really dont want to pack those. I'm getting the luggage out this weekend. Its suppose to be 10 degress on sat. Tday its raining & 40 degress. I really need the sun.

Also would love to meet, maybe get some of the kids together. Looks like all close in age. My girls just love people :flower1:
