Just thought I check in on this grey rainy Michigan October day. On days like this can't wait till Feb. Not a day goes by that my df or dds don't mention the cruise. Dh doesnt say much but I think he's warming up to the idea. He wants to do some fishing, big sea or such anyone have ideas???? Thanks

Sounds like the weather in MI is about the same as it is here in MN! It's cold, grey and raining out. They even said we have a chance of flurries tonight! I am not ready for that at all!

I don't have any knowledge of the fishing excursions that are offered but I do believe they have them. All my dh cares about is that he doesn't have to work for a week and if we didn't do a single excursion, he'd still be thrilled. LOL

As of yesterday we only have 15 weeks until our cruise. WOO HOO!!!! I am so ready to be some place warm and to have someone else cooking all my meals! LOL

Just dropped in for a bit. Wow didnt realize down to double digits!I'm sure that time will fly now. The holidays always go way too fast. My DH busiest time is from mid Nov till Jan 1.

OK, where is everyone??? I was hoping that there would be lots of people from the board on our cruise but so far it's not looking like we're going to have a huge DIS meet. I heard from cyberkashi last week and unfortunately her family also had to cancel their cruise so we're down another family.

I'm guessing that you all must be busying getting ready for the holidays. Quite honestly, I haven't done much to get ready. I don't even have my tree up yet and that normally goes up Thanksgiving weekend. Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say "Hi" to anyone that may be out there lurking. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Yep, I'm lurking. Thanks Jen, 5boysplus and rifgirlsmom for checking in. I'm more than 75% done with my shopping, tree is up, decorations are out and I'm feeling Merry. Just cashed in my DH's frequent flyer miles for our airfare, and his frequent hotel points for the nights before and after the cruise so all is well. Happy Holidays

MImom, when you're done with your shopping, I'll gladly let you do mine. LOL I just hate the holiday crowds! I made the mistake of going to the Mall of America last night to look for some shoes. I won't be making that mistake again anytime soon! It was so crowded that I felt like I couldn't breath!

But I am all ready for the cruise. The airfare has been booked for months, hotel was booked a month ago and the rental car is reserved. I'm so excited that I want to start packing already. LOL That makes me sound crazy doesn't it??? Oh well, I always say a little crazy is good for you.

Yep i've been out here. But with Christmas coming & no i'm no where near ready.
I've got the airflight done. But still need hotel for night before & transportation to & from. Any suggestions?
Hope to see you all soon. Had snow again this morning, but they say rain by afternoon. Love this michigan weather.

rifgirlsmom, We're flying in on Thursday. Mostly because DH's cousin lives near the port so we'll be visiting with him. We're also going to Kennedy Space Center because the dh and dd's really want to see it. Anyway, we're renting a car from Budget. I guess what we'll end up doing is dh will drop us off at the port and he'll just go return it and take thier shuttle back. We're staying at the Econo Lodge Space Center. DH's cousin said that it's near him and that other family members have stayed there and that it was a pretty nice hotel for not a ton of money so we just went with that.

When we get back from the cruise, we're getting another rental car from Budget. It just seemed like the cheapest way to go. My only concern is that last year we had bought the transfers and were able to check in for our flight and check our baggage right at the port. I'm not 100% sure you can do that if you're not taking the Disney transfers.

We too are renting a car and coming in on Thurs, but into Tampa. Oh well, at least we are going We are renting a car from National as we have a discount coupon from them. So far staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach on points. I say so far, because if DH racks up enough points I may try to change our ressies to HIFS for one night.

We plan on staying one night (Sat after cruise) closer to Tampa, so it is closer for our flight home on Sun.
JenGang would love to do your Chrismas shopping for you, if only you lived closer. One year I did most of it for my MIL and SIL(different one than traveling with us). Some of the Dr's I worked with heard about it and I even picked up a few things for them. I toyed with the idea of becoming a personal shopper...but that was BK(before kids) when I had much more time. Now I'm happy if we all have clean underwear to wear

I'm excited because I'm getting a bit of a break from the cold this weekend. I'm going to TX this weekend to go to a friends wedding. It's supposed to be in the 70's and I can't wait!

Think I will check out the holiday inn--df family that are cruising with aren't flying in till about midnight. So we are basicly on our own. Think we might just get towncar or such. DH isnt real comfortable driving in strange places or possibly I make him not comfortable.
Still havent got much shopping done. DD are both into basketball, which will be costing us a bit of $. So they are about done.

Our final payment has been made and we only have 60 days left before our cruise! It's so stinking cold in MN right now that I wish it was Feb!

I spent the weekend in TX where it was 79° and came home to temps in the teens and super high winds. I wanna be some place warm!!!

Well--its 1 degree out today. Sooo Ready to be warm. Cant wait to head to Florida & get on the Magic. The DD xmas program was today. Its all down hill to Xmas now. Mostly ready. But it is very cold out today & the wind is blowing. We need to finish the cookies & some wrapping. Best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas, as I may not get back here till Xmas day or after.
