February 12th, 2005 Western. Who's going???

Wow, I do feel special. That is great!
So, what's in the package you are sending them?

I'm still here! I know there is still time to get on that cruise but I really can't see it happening. I have about a week and a half before our first attempt at getting pregnant. I'm really crossing my fingers that it works out the first time because they're so anxious to have a baby.

Joe told me he talked to you and that you really did enjoy your cruise with Laura. Sorry I missed you that day. That darn work thing just gets in the way of my social life sometimes. LOL
WOW WOW, I am so excited for you Jen. I bet the new family will be too. So I guess coming to Cedar Point next summer is out of the question too.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :bounce:

I ended up not sending the package after all. I was going to overnight it to them but the line at the post office was insanely long. I had a bib, baby bottle and a little stuffed lamb in the box. I also had taken a picture of the positive home pregnancy test. I ended up just calling them. They are so excited that they were speechless. Both of them were crying.

And yes Steph, this does mean that Cedar Point is out of the question now! I'm sure Joe will be dissapointed about that but there isn't much that can be done about that! LOL We will get out there one of these days. Beth is just dying to go there to go on the coasters. She's such a daredevil!

Well you know Joe and beth can come and ride and you can wait. I even meet you I do not like a lot of those rides anyway.
How is your new job doing are you busy in the mall with holidays?
Steph

LOL, but I want to go on the rides too! I'd be jealous if I just had to sit and wait for them!

My job is going really well. The MOA is insanely busy right now and I could really do without that. I swear there are days that I would love to scream when someone who obviously isn't from MN walks up and asks "So what do ya'll do here?" The good thing is that I've gotten really good at giving the 30 second explaination. :earboy2:

I think since I can't go anywhere now that someone should come to MN to visit me! Just think, you could take your kids to Knott's Camp Snoopy in the middle of the mall. Most of those rides are geared for younger kids anyway. Or if Mark and Laura were to come visit, there is plenty of shopping for Laura and Elizabeth. :daisy:

Not sure if anyone is still reading here but just incase someone is, I thought I'd share my good news.

My couple came to MN last week to see me and we had a high density ultrasound done. Not only is this baby nice and healthy with all 10 fingers and toes but...

IT'S A BOY!!! Considering that I've had 4 girls, I didn't even think it was possible for me to carry a boy! My intended parents are so happy. He has 7 nieces in his family and not a single nephew. So needless to say, this baby boy will be one very spoiled little boy.

I'm almost half way through the pregnancy and so far everything is going well. I already miss seeing my feet but thankfully I can still reach them to tie my own shoes! :rotfl2:

Jen,
Excellent! How wonderful! You are such a fabulous, generous woman.
Take care of yourself and best wishes for the remainder
of your pregnancy pixiedust: .

Hey Jen,

I hope you are feeling good, yes I still monitor the DIS boards. Sorry I have not responded sooner. I actually had surgery nothing major, since GOD blessed me with 40 DDD breast size, I decided to get healthly. I take karate and have had the hardest time with doing things. I have wanted this for a very long time so I waited for my insurance to approve it and went for it! So how is things with you? I was just taking to my aunt about you, we happened to talk about pre-made dinners, are you still working at the Mall doing that? We are trying to get a trip to DIsney in October, just the Vaction Club we stay at is not open to the public yet. So when is your due date? The weather is finally looking up :sunny: Well take care
Steph

Steph,

Congrats on the surgery! I'm sure you feel like a new person! I know I did after mine. :goodvibes

Yes I'm still with the same company but we have thankfully moved out of the Mall of America!!! It's so much more peaceful in our new location. The downside of it is that we lost a few customers but we'll get new ones. It just takes time to build up that customer base again.

Things have been going pretty good for me. I'm due 8/22 but I fully expect to be a week late. LOL Some things have happened in the last week that are a little stressful but I'll post about that in a seperate post.

Up to this point, my surrogacy has been going great. The pregnancy hasn't been too hard but I will say that I'm feeling old and this one has been more difficult on my body. I guess 5 babies is my limit. LOL

This past weekend I did get some news that is going to make the rest of this journey a little more difficult. I can't remember if I told you anything about my intended parents or not but my intended mom has survived breast cancer twice. She's been cancer free for 6 years now so we have all felt pretty confident. Recently she's had some shoulder pain but thought it was related to the new desk she has a work. One night she was rubbing her shoulder and found a lump. She went to her dr the next day and spent all of last week at dr appointments. Her cancer is back but this time it's in her neck and shoulder. She sees her onocologist on Weds. and we'll know then how they plan to treat her.

We're all an emotional train wreck right now. she's worried that I won't give them the baby because she has cancer and I'm more worried that they won't want the baby because she has cancer. I'm flying out to NH to visit them next week. It'll give me a chance to see the great support system that they have in their family and will hopefully convince her that I don't want her baby.

If you could all just say a little prayer that she'll have a full recovery, I'd appreciate it.

Oh Jen,
I am so sorry to hear that horrible news. I will say a prayer. I think you flying out there will definetley give them lots of comfort. I hope everything works out for the both of you. Please keep me posted. Group hugs for everyone :grouphug:

Jen, will definately keep all of you in my prayers.
Have a safe trip and let us know how everything goes for you.

What.............Whoa Jen, let us know what we can do to help........... Will say a Prayer for your safe travels and the Moms recovery. I KNOW you have the baby's best interest at heart........ Take Care and tell Joe not to worry.

Thanks Mark. All I can ask anyone for right now is prayers. I talked to my counselor today and she doesn't think things sound good. There is fluid around one of her lungs and she's started to have some chest pain. They're guessing that she must have some cancer cells in that lung. She goes tomorrow for a bone marrow scan and then next week she's going to Boston to see another onocologist.

I'm glad I'm going out there next week to meet the family because right now I need to see all the people that are going to be there to love and take care of this baby. JoAnn is trying to be so strong so she doesn't worry me but the fact is that I'm scared to death for her.

Hello to anyone that still checks out this board. I just wanted to give everyone a quick update. I delivered a nice big healthy boy for my intended parents on August 22nd. He was 9 lbs. 1.5 oz. and 21" long. Definately my biggest baby yet. His parents are of course thrilled with him and keep telling me just how perfect he is. Ahh, I do such nice work. LOL

I'm feeling pretty darn good considering that I delivered 2 weeks ago and I'm getting so old. Had a little bit of upsetting news on Friday. My work closed down and I'm now unemployed. :sad2: It sucks because I knew I was going to job hunt once I was back from maternity leave but now I need to start looking sooner. Oh well, I'm sure there's something better out there for me! I have to say that I really have cruise fever but with this latest set back, I think it'll be a while before that's happening!

Hope everyone is well!
Hugs,
Jen

Jen,
Congrats to you and the parents. You definately do good work!
How is the Mom doing?

Good luck on the job hunt, hope all goes well.

We aren't cruising anytime soon either - but going to Las Vegas in June for my MIL's 60th B-Day and our 20th anniversary.
It's been a few yrs since we vacationed with the in-laws (not since the cruise :yay: ), so it should be fun.

Best wishes to you.
Take care,
Anne

Anne,

Her cancer is definately shrinking so that's good. I know the treatments are pretty hard on her though. Thankfully they have lots of people to help them out.

I'm jealous about your trip to Vegas. I love going there! Not even to gamble but just to sight see and people watch. Not to mention all the really good food! Have a great time and congratulations on the 20 year anniversary!

Jen

Jen,
I am so excited for you. This is your first boy, right? Sorry to hear about your job. I need to start looking for job, now that Grant started Kindergarten. :teacher: I would love to take a cruise too, not this year. So any more babies in your future? :stir: The friend that I was talking you about that did the egg donation had twin girls in Jan. but just lost one to SIDS, it was so sad.
take care
Stepheni

Steph,

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend losing her baby. I can't imagine how horrible that would be. As for me, I've said for most of this pregnancy that I was done after this one. But I have to say that there have been so many problems with my intended mom getting sick and the relationship I had with them wasn't great that I could really see myself doing another one once I'm fully recovered. I did always say I wanted to have 6 childern of my own. So I guess in a way, If I did one more, that would be 6 pregnancies. LOL I'm sure everyone thinks I'm nuts but even with all the discomfort of pregnancy, I still really love it. and yes, this was my first boy.

Oh, and just so you know, Joe is really trying to plan a trip to Cedar Point for next summer. If we do get out that way, I will make sure to let you know because it would be great to see you and Ken.
