February 10, 2007 7-Day Western Who's coming?

I'm also a big hockey fan (even though I haven't been watching it a lot this year). Being from the Montreal area my team is and always has been the Montreal Canadians. The're doing great this season :thumbsup2 Hope it continues :goodvibes

Hee hee.. I noticed your Go Habs Go!! It's awesome.. Ocean Breeze started a thread about availability of NHL on board... OB - Did you ever get the answer?
It would be too cool to watch the game from the ship!!

Same deal here - I have been too busy this past year to keep right up to date with the game (see above post, oops) .. but it is definately THE BEST GAME ON EARTH!!

Wow...there is a lot of Hockey talk around here. I am going to have to get out my Dallas Stars stuff and start cheering for the home team....oh...wait....I don't have any Stars stuff. I haven't even been to a Stars game since 1994. Well....they play at the American Airlines Center, and I DO have AA Apparel.

GO AA!!

Oh no, YenSid, if you get out your Dallas Stars stuff, watch out! My DH can't stand the Stars. Truth is, he's from Minnesota, and he's never forgiven them for leaving. I keep telling him that he needs to be mad at the owner who took them away not the team--they had no choice. He doesn't listen--just says they should've stayed anyway!! One of my sons favourite things to do is tease his dad and cheer for the Stars!!!

Perhaps I should add that my DH really is just joking about that. Us hockey fans do tend to get a bit crazy at times, but he really is just kidding about this!:rolleyes1

I did and alas it seems that there will be no hockey onboard. Too bad too because the Sens play the Habs on Saturday night. That would've been a fun game to watch in the bar with you two!!:cheer2:

Oh well. Will we survive? Aw shucks, it'll be hard cruising in the warm Caribbean, relaxing, having fun. I'll try!!!:rotfl:

Don't worry, i'm sure we will survive :rotfl: But it would have been fun :happytv: I'm sure we will find something else to do :woohoo:

I just bought my son(3) a Peter pan outfit that I'll dress him in on semi formal night. My daughter already has an Ariel dress, so she's set. I just bought my DD a cute dress for formal night at an after christmas sale.

My kids are good with clothes, me on the otherhand has nothing. I'll probably just wear capris to the dining room. I haven't even started going through my closet yet

We are actually going to see the Hurricanes vs the Rangers tomorrow night. They had given a bunch of tickets to the servicemembers and my daughter is taking me. I try to support the locals but I sure wish it were the Red Wings!

Sorry about them not being the Red Wings, but your local team is a FUN team to watch play--enjoy yourself!

P.S. Did you see any of the ceremony for retiring Stevie Y's jersey? It was nice and very well done. He's a class act.

:worship:  :dance3: Our DD was admitted to the hospital Thursday at 7am to have her baby, the Dr warned it would be a long day. We arrived at 3pm and had a pool on birth time 10pm 10:30pm & 11pm those times came and went at 12:45am the Dr decided to take the baby so away they went and only the Husband could be with her, we were so looking forward to seeing the baby being born. Ian Thomas made his grand entrance at 1:34am Jan 5th 2007 at 7lbs 15ozs and 21 inches. The handsomest baby this side of the Chinese wall. We got to see him for a minute before leaving. Got home at 3am and up at 6am. Went back to the Hospital at 10am an got to hold the grandson. Wow!! It was unreal how proud the kids were. Makes me remember how I was when my kids were born, isn't it what life is about? :cloud9:

Congrats!! The birth of a child is such a wonderful event! How many grandkids do you have again? You are so lucky to live in the same area . . . We are a 6 hours away from both sets of Grandparents . . . My only regret about living where we live . . . .

The family made it to the gym last night . . . Going to try and get up early tomorrow morning to be there by 7 . . . to get it over before starting the day . . . 34 days until we leave . . . That means I need to make it 15 - 20 more times to the gym . . . Sure I can do that:yay: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I can lose three sizes in 35 days- right? :thumbsup2

I don't know why it is so hard to get there. I actually enjoy myself when I do! It is just committing the time. I keep saying I will try to be there by 5:30 during the week to do it before work . . . but I'm just not that much of an early bird. Don't know how John and Mary get up at 6 even on vacation!!!!

Isn't that just the greatest?! Congratulations:yay:

After my son was born I remember thinking that no one could ever describe how wonderful it is having a child--we have nothing else to compare it to. I get the feeling this is coming pretty darn close!!

Enjoy!

P.S. Are you going to be able to tear yourselves away for the cruise?!?!:rotfl:

Hello fellow cruisers!! I haven't had time to read this whole thread- WOW there are a lot of people here!! I do have a question though....

Will many of you be dressing up for pirate night?? My DF and I were looking to buy or rent costumes for pirate night & get into it- but when I asked to see pictures of the night to see how into it people got... the feed back was not so good. If we're going to be the only ones dressed up, or part of a small group, then I'd rather save the money & spend it on the cruise!!

So.... what's the deal?? What are you wearing on Pirate night!?!?!pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

We are going semi - dressed up . . . DH will not dress up at all . . . I took the advise of Yankeegal64 and picked up a ruffled shirt that I will pair with black pants or gauchos . . . DS has a hook hand and an eye patch, DD is still looking . . . though may just wear a shirt with a pirate on it that she has already with a bandana . . .

All very low cost overall . . .

There are a bunch of us dressing up (still working on DB). A couple of the guys have purchased costumes but us girls are wearing either black skirts or gauchos with black boots and a plastic knife and a white puffy shirt. 2 of the guys are wearing pirate t-shirts (the link is: http://www.wickedliquid.com/pirateshirts.html to get them pretty cheap). The Disney store (http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...N=0&Ntk=p_categoryID&Ntt=14960&Nu=p_productID) has their costumes on clearance right now. Captain Hook for adults is usually $79.00 and it's marked down to $39.00 and the boy’s pirate costume is marked down to $24.00. We are a pretty thrifty bunch so we put together our own for the most part. They give out bandannas at dinner that night that have skull and cross bones on them. You can really get away pretty cheap. Most of the Dollar stores carry either plastic knifes or swords in the kiddies section along with eye patches. Don't worry about being the only ones out there. I just went on a 3 night and didn't think there would be many people dressed up and I was wrong. I requested the dining rotation APL so we will be at Parrot Cay that night. I think it'll set the mood. I was truly blown away by how great the pirate party was. The fireworks were incredible. My friend wants us to dress up for 70's night now which really wouldn't be too hard. The pictures they take at pirate night while you are eating have a pirate boarder around them. Another good tip:after the fireworks everyone is going to head for the buffet (totally awesome). That is the time to grab the desk chairs that the staff is putting out for the "dive in" movie. My friend went to grab the food and I got the chairs and we were set to watch Johnny Depp:cloud9: on the big screen. It started to get cool so she ran to the cabin and brought up two blankets. We had a blast.
