My wife warned me of this so-so PassPorter review too and I kind of wondered about its value. But I think that this post and the pictures tell me that the kids will love it and talk about it for years to come. Have a look at the link. The novelty of being in a submarine will be neatest part for them.

As mentioned, this is the only shore excursion we've got booked.

Thank you for posting that link. I may be changing my mind about the submarine tour. The sub looks wonderful and I think Lauren will like to go. I guess it is true that a picture's worth a thousand words.

Who's keeping the thread member list? If you post the latest copy, I can help maintain it from now on.

We're still waiting for documents. Somebody should be getting them real soon.

gmark200, do you want to exchange sell phone numbers when It gets closer to go time so we can contact each other at Port Orleans for dinner?

Does anyone know if there is a convenience store close to the pier (within walking distance). I would like to purchase a bottle of champagne for my parent-in-law's anniversary. We are taking the disney bus transfer from the airport that morning and are unable to stop anywhere along the way. Just thought that maybe something was close by.

Hi,
I just spoke with IDS in Cape Canaveral and for anyone that didn't know, they do except shipments for your stateroom, but NO WATER DELIVERIES. So I may send all the beach toys, snacks, extra clothes or anything like that ahead of time to save room. She said to have it arrive about 3 days ahead of time and clearly mark all over the box stateroom, ship, date of departure, and it would be helpful to list contents as well.

Tammy,
I was also thinking of shipping some misc. items--lifejacket, watershoes etc., but I am not sure how to then ship the items home. Do you know how to do this from the airport?

Thanks!

No, I'm sorry I don't know how to ship back from airport. We are going to my FIL house after cruise and figured I could ship back from there.

HELP....

I have no idea what or how much to pack for any of us....feeling a little overwhelmed as my Mom is in the hospital just had hip surgery because she fell and broke the ball off her hip last wednesday!!

Any help anyone could give on packing or send me in the right direction if already posted I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!!!!!

Hi Tammy I am having a delima also!! Just went through dd's summer things! I think we have enough to spend a month!!!
I figure I willpack 1 play outfit and 1 outfit for the dinner every night! 4 sets of pjs, enough undies of course for everyday!! I think if I pack that for each kid thats good. My hubby reminded me there is a laundry facility.
I hope that helps

I wondered this too and didn't buy any booze because you can't get it on the plane. As we were walking toward the Disney store at the airport there was a store on the left that had a sign that they would package and ship stuff. I think we were walking from the Hyatt area toward Disney store. When you fly in look around I'm sure you'll see it. 16 Days!!!

Are there any shops near the port to buy beach toys? I have been looking around, people lok at me like I am strange!!!

I don't know that area, but I have read about people getting gift baskets from The Perfect Gift that include beach toys!

I have layed out clothes and played around with them so many times now, I have no idea what I have! I am shooting for 1 day outfit and 1 dinner outfit per day. Weather is the only "what if"! When I cruised in November there were 2 days that we needed jackets and jeans or capris. I feel like i need to be prepared for it all!

Great ideas. I think in addition to what I said earlier I think I will pack 2 pairs
of capri pants, a sweater. I will have tennies for the gym already.
Thanks keep talking to me so I can keep thinking!

Okay, lets focus now....what are the top few things you don't want to forget!!?? For me....
1. Passports
2. DH's Govt. ID (for our discount at the Radisson)
3. Online Check in paperwork
4. Passporter (has all my notes)

For packing I fing it helpful to use a chart that has each day of the week along with each family member name. I then divide it for daytime and evening. I write in and then pack what each person will wear each day.

Cathy - I don't know anything about the port area. However, we're going to WDW for a couple of days before the cruise and will have a rental car. We plan on stopping to pick up some beverages for ourselves so I can pick up a bottle of champagne for you, if you need it.

I have an invention! Everytime we travel someplace and have to buy and then leave behind sand pails, I think to myself...why, oh why, don't they sell a square sand pail w/ hinged corners so you could fold it flat and pack it when you're done? I keep saying I'm going to invent that. I'm sure it would be more expensive than the 99 cent usual bucket, but I've probably bought and left behind at least a dozen pails!

My DH says I have too much time on my hands if these are the things I worry about, but it always comes to mind when I have to start packing!!

Hello all. I was looking through the board and saw your most recent posts.
As a reminder, our family consists of myself, DH and 3 DD (12yrs, 10yrs (it's her birthday today) and 6 yrs. We're in Central Oregon, where it's been a lovely 0-5 degrees every morning this last week (warming up to about 27)..

One question and one piece of advice.
Packing: Not that I'm an expert but this really helped me:
A few months back our family took a 15-day cruise thru the Panama Canal (it was a 50th anniversary trip with the grandparents). With 3 kids, I was frantic about packing too much or too little; being prepared for weather, etc etc. (RCCL does not have washers onboard). Here's what I did: For each child I wrote down all the clothes I thought I might want to take. Then listed all the nights, noting # of formal, semi-formal and casual dinners. Then from my written list, I could create outfits and put a hash-mark by each item of clothing as it was "used". Anything I didn't list to wear at least 3x, I took off the list. It was much easier than trying to figure out outfits from the clothes piled on the bed; I could keep track of each outfit and see what items were really unnecessary. The result, for 5 of us, we had 4 large suitcases and we did great over 15 days. Just a thought.

As to my question: I see someone in our group is an Old Key West fan. Our family will be at Old Key West the week before the cruise. This is our first WDW trip ever (took 3 yrs of scrimping, planning and saving to do this). Any advice about the resort would be great. We've done obsessive amounts of planning for the parks (created touring plans, listed times for shows, researched where to go to see the fireworks, etc). Any advice about OKW would be great. We're in a 2-bdr condo for 7 nights.

Thank you all for your help and insight. We've booked 2 snorkeling excursions thru DCL, but I could not get Palo res. I'm hoping to score when we board. I actually just wanted to do the brunch, but nothing online is open.
Take Care - we'll see you all in a few weeks.

Thank you! Thank you! :daisy: I would really appreciate it. Also - thanks on the offer of the bracelet - I definitely want one. I will PM after I find out what kind of champagne or wine my mother in law likes.

Me Too! :scared1: I want to see my docs - I'm getting so excited now that we've on the home stretch! Had a family meeting tonight. We designed our pirate costumes for pirate night. Cannot wait for the cruise to get here! :dance3: Even DH is beginning to get excited.
