February 03 2007 Eastern

I called the Radisson yesterday (had made my ressie months ago and AAA and Govt. discount rates weren't available then). The discount rates are out! DH is a Federal Employee and can get a discount with his Govt. ID (works the same for State employees!). The discount was significant! Almost $50 savings! I don't think AAA discount is quite as much but it is usually 20%!

Just wanted to alert anyone who is staying or planning to stay at the Radisson!! :wizard:

I leave Thursday for my "Girls only 3 day Mini-Cruise" on RC with one of my girlfriends for her 40th B-day! For me it is the "DCL Pre-cruise Warm-up"!!!

We leave from the same port, I'll try and get a picture of the Magic to post! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hello

Some anyswers, I have taken the eastern cruise twice before and pirate: Night was the night we left port of St Mart, the 2nd cruise it was bad weather so the fire works were called off and the party was held inside. The next night was beautiful so they sort of held the party again with the Fire works were exploded that night. It was kind of nice felt like we had two pirate: nights.

The time you have to get off the ship :boat: , I think so long as everyone is out of their rooms early, you can Strole off about 9:30 after you have breakfast, that's what we did and never felt rushed at all. Then walked off the boat, we where kind of the last few left. Went out to the baggage are and our bags right there easy to find. We flew delta and took our bags a short walk outside and checked them in to the outside airline check in trucks and we were off to the air port. We flew out at 1pm. very relaxing exit.

This year we are staying a couple of days after. It will be fun. It was my DD21 and myself, so not kids to worry about, but I think that even if you have kids it is very easy to leave the ship and be on your way.

Since this is our 3rd trip on this route and with DCL, we are very excited but are really planning what we bring in our bags. Always packed way to much that past two.

We had about 2 outsfits each day and dress clothing for dinner. 2 big bags each and a carry on. We didn't use half the stuff we brought. We are going lite this year. One suit case each and one for formal clothes to 3 bags total and no carry on.

We didn't do much excursions on our past two cruise, but this year we want to venture out a bit, but I don't have much spending money for them. I'm a single mom paying for my DD's way though college so we have a tight budget. So if anyone has some great ideas for good beaches to go to and how much it costs and what you had to do to get there, it would really be helpful.

Looking to meeting the group

I want to know your cabin # so I can come down and check out your closet. My wife has never cut back although she swears she will every time. :rotfl2: :dance3:

I'm from Toms River. No, not DVC yet. First cruise and traveling with my sister and 2 nieces. Looking forward to it.
So if you have any tips, we would appreciate them greatly. Oh, the girls are 11 and 12.

Jerzeegirl.....I lived in Toms River and Forked River for about 5 years! We still have family and friends in the area!!
I worked at Garden State Rehab (now Healthsouth Rehab I think??) Small world!!

Had my Royal Caribbean mini-cruise this past weekend....it was nice! Saw DCL terminal but no boats were in. I think my girlfriends got tired of hearing me say....and when I go on my Disney Cruise....or Disney Cruise does it this way....

I can't wait!!

My wife was an ER nurse, then decided to be a school nurse, she just retired 9/30/06. Hope everyone had a nice family dinner. I really enjoy having the kids & grandkids over. :cool1: :Pinkbounc

on your To-Do list for the cruise?????

I have the hotel and air lines set, got the passports....next I need to figure out transportation from the airport!! :hourglass

Hi!
We are using Happy Limo. They can be found at on the internet.
We are using a 10 person van for $250 round trip. They will make a 30 minute stop at a gorcery store on the way to Port Canaveral. We are staying at the Radisson the night before. I know we could rent a car for a day before and after the cruise, but I thought this would be easier.

Hi - I am a first time cruiser on the cruise. I am going with my DH, DD, DS, Mom and MIL. I have no idea what to expect and I stumbled across this board looking for answers to my questions about dinner seating, excursions, what to bring, etc. I can wait but does anyone have any advice for a newbie? I have the airline tickets, transportation(we are renting a van since we are staying before and after in FL), passports, etc. Do I need to plan anything else? Thanks for any advice. I can't wait to go........I booked it back in March 06 and it seems to go by very slow. Jayne

We are renting a car both ways and coming in on friday. We have not booked a room for friday night yet. I'm between the nick suites or staying on property.

We just got back from the eastern caribbean on Royal Caribbean and had a great time. St thomas and St Marteen were great as always. We spent those shore days at the beach and even rented a wave runner in St. Marteen. The weather was great and we had a blast. I can't wait to get back there in Feb.

Have we arranged a meet the day we get on the cruise yet? I would love to meet everyone and have the kids meet. Anybody with a great time and/or place?

Have a great day.

Welcome MJMJCROP :yay: You may want to book your shore excursions. I am working on where to stay the night before now. Got the airport transportation today through budget since we are coming in the night before.
cruise documents, palo reservations, shore excursions, dd signed up for the club all completed.

Anyone with any dd around 10? We are surprising our 10 year old almost 11 dd this for a christmas present. Cant stand not talking about it with her...

:hourglass Time is moving slower now.

We originally were planning to rent a car, but our flights have changed and we don't have much free time now...so I think it will be a town car or Limo!! The kids have always wanted to ride in a limo so I am just trying to justify the cost!!
We are still coming in Friday, just later in the day and staying at the Radisson.

I'd love to plan a meet! Any of the DCL veterans know when a good time is??

WELCOME JAYNE!! :cheer2:
My only advice (I have cruised but am a newbie to DCL as well!) is to keep reading the boards and invest in the DCL passporter! Feel free to post any questions!!

Just found this thread, and I am looking forward to the cruise. This will be the 2nd Disney cruise for my wife and me. We are staying in Cabin 7120 in Level 7, Navigator's Verandah. We went on our first Disney cruise (4 day Wonder) on our honeymoon last year, and we were so impressed with it, we decided to come to the 7 day cruise. Our favorite part is the day at Castaway Cay!

We are DVC members and are hoping to go on the member cruise this October. Any DVC members on this cruise?
