February 03 2007 Eastern

My husband thinks I have offically gone crazy (althought he has suspected it for years!) I have been ready and taking notes like crazy. I love the planning almost as much as the trip itself!
I am waiting for my passporter to arrive...ordered from Amazon so they haven't shipped yet!
I look forward to chatting with all of you!!

TJ: You will love the DCL passporter. I have BOTH (WDW/DCL) and love them so much. They have all the info you will ever want to know and they will update you online as well. Before my first cruise, that WAS the bestseller I was reading. I kept my passporter next to my computer and wrote all my notes I got from the DIS Boards right in the back of the book. :thumbsup2

I checked with Amazon this weekend. They have not received the Passporters yet and don't expect to ship for awhile. I was going to cancel and order directly from passporter...but I have an amazon credit and am too cheap!!

I have been looking at options for staying the night before the cruise. Does anyone have any thoughts. I was looking at either an airport hotel or the Radisson. I think we are going to opt for a town car to travel to and from the port....less stress! I'd love input from all of you DCL pros!!

Well that stinks about the passporters. As for the hotel...my in laws are flying in from MA and staying at the Hyatt in the airport. It was $85 for both of them for the night.

Okay, I have yet another question!
Booking when I did, we didn't have an option for early seating for dinner. We had always chosen late seating on past cruises but we didn't have the kids with us then.
I put myself on the waiting list for early, but after reading various threads wonder if we will be too rushed.??
Any suggestions? (the kids will be 8 when we go next Feb.)

Hi Jackie,
On our last trip, we booked the Marriott by the airport for $65 (3* on priceline.com). Four our family of four, a one-way rental car from the airport to the port is pretty good (around $40 for a Taurus).

This is a tough call. We have early seating booked, but I'm thinking about changing to late. My boys will be 7 and 9 on this cruise. On our last one, we had early seating, but with the staggered times we had dinner at 5:30. That was too early. I think late seating will work as there is enough snack food around to tide the kiddies over until 8:00 or 8:30.

Thanks for the info Rick! I did call and cancelled my wait list request for early dinner. I did request for the 8:00 for the staggered seating (instead of 8:15 or 8:30). I hate to rush!!

Hi!!! We are Gary and Gail Wilson from Erie, PA and there is a very good chance we will be joining your cruise! We are waiting for date confirmation from friends of ours from Canada and if it's a go we will book. Has anyone mentioned we'll be on the Magic for the Super Bowl? We were on it two years ago and they really do things up right for the game!!! :thumbsup2 We'll let you know as soon as we
confirm the dates.

Have a Disney Day!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Thanks for the SuperBowl info. I hadn't even thought about that...

Also looking forward to the Wristbands.. Keep me informed when you are ready to purchase....Thanks.

Hi everyone. We just booked this cruise yesterday so I thought I'd check in. We will be in 1074/1076 (connecting cat 9's). Can't complain too much about this cruise since my MIL paid for most of it for us. My party includes myself, DW, DD (one month shy of her 3rd birthday at time of cruise), MIL and my wife's two aunts. This will be our first cruise ever !!! Looking forward to meeting all of you and learning as much as I can from all you cruise veterens

Welcome to our thread! :cheer2: I am also a first time Disney Cruiser. I have a DD who will be 3 and a half when we cruise! This is the friendliest group I've met so far. They are happy to answer any questions.

mickeyfanatic3....We will have to meet and get our DD's together. Mine will be one month shy of her 3rd birthday, but I'm hoping she is potty trained before the cruise so she can go to the club

I really don't like when our thread isn't on the first page!! ;)
I am loving reading the trip reports, but end up having more questions after reading them! Here is my latest!

I know we have requested 8pm seating for dinner and it won't be definate until cruise time. How do I plan which night to make my Palo reservation? I really don't want to miss any of the special dinners or the show at Animator's Palate. Help!! :scratchin

I wish I could help BUT I know there is a solution. Someone posted once and said on the 7 day the restaurants OBVIOUSLY repeat (unlike the 3 day cruise)...but I do not remember what the POSTER said about the actual rotation. :confused3
I would make your ressies for TUESDAY because by then (Sat 3rd, Sun 4th, Mon 5th) you would have eaten at Trition's, Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay, so go for TUESDAY NIGHT and as a matter of fact I think I will too!!! OMG, I just thought WHAT IF EVERYONE ON THE WHOLE SHIP FIGURES THIS OUT...yikes, I have not paid off my trip so I cannot make any ressies....oh well, may the best cruisier WIN!!! HAHAHA!!! :thumbsup2

I hear Tuesday nights are awful at Palo ;) (okay....I'm just tryin to fake everyone out!!...don't tell anyone!!)
Seriously though.......I was thinking Tues. or Wed. (Wed will be my B-day so I need to decide, Do I want a romantic dinner with DH or to spend my 40th with the family???) I also think I read somewhere (I have no idea where anymore since I have been reading EVERYTHING!!) that Pirate night is Tues??!! I don't want to miss that either....AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I guess I will just have to re-book so we can experience the things we miss on this cruise!

WELL If I were you, then I would make a ressie at PALO's for your bday. You will have many more bdays with the family...make this a special one with DH!!!
ALSO, make it early like 7pm as "Pirates pirate: in the Caribbean" are 9:30pm-11:00pm!! I have NO idea what night it will be on the 7 day so just in case make your Palo's ressie early so you will be done in plenty of time for PIRATES!!! pirate:

Hello Feb. 3rd cruisers!

Erica here, posting from the Midwest. MN, to be exact....."Oh, YA, you bettcha!" I've been all caught up the Westbound Med. Repo cruise thread (15 month countdown....ugh!) & it dawned on me that I hadn't checked for this thread at all! Yikes! I apologize, my fault. I should've known that someone had started this thread a long time ago. So here I am. My cruising fam. and I will be joining you all in 10 months! Here's a little history:

I started cruising with DCL on my honeymoon in June of 2000. The DH and I did a land and sea package and knew on our first 3 days on the Magic that we needed to bring our families the next time around. And so we did! Our first big cruise was a 7-day Eastern with 17 people. The rest, as they say, is history! We love DCL and haven't had the itch to try another cruise line...probably never will! So, I think we'll fit in nicely with this group of DCL fans!

The current count for our Feb. 3rd group is 11. Me & my DH, our parents, a couple of siblings & their sig. others & best of all, my Granny! She's a DCL pro! She tried a 7-Day Western Carib. with us last January and loved it. It will be great to get her on another vacation. Beware, she loves ice cream...so she might be hogging all of the soft serve!

There are going to be some great celebrations going on the week of our cruise. Congrats to all of those with special birthdays and anniversaries. I never even thought about Super Bowl! I'll bet people will be spilling out of Diversions on that night! What fun!

I'm excited to chat with everyone for the next 10 months! Hopefully, we'll stay on page 1 from now on! Oh, I love the bracelets too! Great idea! I'm sure there will be much to talk about as the clock counts down.

Catch you later!
Erica J.
