I cannot pick so I need you guys to. I like September due to low crowds but I want low crowds and cooler weather! I want to have my cake and eat it too I guess. Is there a big difference between the first week of February and the week before thanksgiving. We don't care whether the Christmas decorations are up or not as long as we are in wdw. While you are it which resort shall I pick. The problem is I like so many I can't pick one. I'm trying for a resort I never stayed it. It's between beach club since I really loved the yacht club, contemporary since my DS favorite ride is the monorail, pop since it is cheaper, or port Orleans because we were there before and I loved it and the handsome manager that help check us in last time. Lol

Personally we love, love, love November!! The weather was always beautiful (ok 1 year was a bit chilly) but that was out of 5! February can be very cold and September can be HOT! If you can go without worries of kids out of school, I would vote for November!!
As for resort, you have a big range there. My daughter always loved POP and wanted to stay there each visit, but I really like PORFQ. I cannot help you with that one. Maybe try something different. POP is fun and different, but a value is very different if you have not stayed at one before.
Good luck :)

I am also really interested in this debate. We have always gone from Jan 1 for 2 weeks but I have changed jobs and January is now their busiest time of year so I am unable to have holidays then. My choice is the two weeks after Thanksgiving or the last week of January rolling into the first week of February. Its really hard to get a good fortnight period as there seem to be plenty of good single weeks but to squeeze two good weeks back to back seems a lot harder. I guess we will just have to take the plunge choose one and hope for the best.

I think either week will be good for low crowds and cool weather.

The week before Thanksgiving week is our favorite time to go. February could be equally pleasant, but you run a bigger risk of hitting some cold weather then.

I suggest November. You'll get to see the Christmas decorations, have a better chance of "warmer" weather, and not be subject to any travel issues with the February madness we have had so far this year.

My preference is November. We have done about a 50\50 split between the times that you are looking.I had upper 80's days when we were there in February. I was shocked by that but not so sure that I should have been based on feedback from CM's.

The one aspect of February that I like is that it's a nice escape from Old Man Winter. I live in Western PA, so it's nice to escape. Then once we get home, Spring is right around the corner. But as far as cost, crowds and weather, I don't think that you can beat the Fall months.

As far as resorts, we are in the DVC and we prefer to stay by Parks. Recently we have done BLT and BWV.

BLT walking distance to the MK, easy access to monorail and boats. It was so convenient that we could do any Park then return to MK in the evening just for the parad or fireworks and not worry about fighting with crowds to leave.

BWV is snuggled right in between DHS and EPCOT. About a 10 minute or less walk to either one. Same deal with the EPCOT fireworks. And super cool if you are at WDW during the F&W Festival!

I think you have a better chance of having good weather in November than Feb. It will be cooler but not cold. I've gone the last week of Jan and one day it was 80, the next 45 and we had to wear gloves and hats. Typically the weather in Nov is still warm during the day and then a little cooler at night.

As for resorts, I love CR (we've stayed there 3 times) because of its proximity to MK. We have also stayed at POP (2x) and I think it is good option if you are spending most of your time in the parks. And I love BC because of the pool, if you are planning on a lot of pool time -- this would be my choice!

I vote November! We went in early Dec in 2011 and 2012, and just got back Feb 7-15. Weather was very similar. We love the Christmas decorations and missed them this trip. The biggest difference for us was all the ride refurbs going on and the crane being up at the castle. Not huge problems, but not something we think about in December. Our next trip will be Nov 2015. :goodvibes

Oh and Feb had lots of cheer and dance groups and the quincera groups from South America.

It seems like the weather is better in November. I think the week before thanksgiving is where I'm leaning to. I figured people would not want to take kids out if school the week before they get thanksgiving week off but my child is still young. He will only be in kindergarten next November

If balanced weather is what you want, November has to be better than February

February has been our favorite for a long time but after this year we may change when we go. The number and SIZE of the tour groups was more than we've ever seen. November does not seem to have that. And...we had significant trouble getting home because of all the bad weather in Pa. DH says we are NEVER going in Feb again. Weather at Disney World was all over the place. About the only thing we did not have was snow there! Heavy rain, light rain, warm, cold, sunny, cloudy....

We have been going February break for years. We love the weather but it does fluctuate a lot. It can be high 80s or low 50s. Last year the Floridians were freezing with hats and gloves. When we checked in they were apologizing for the weather. We had come from a snow storm in NY so it was beautiful for us. We like the cooler weather but you cannot predict it.

Enjoy!

We went the second week of November (2013) and the weather and crowds were great. Mist of the Christmas decorations were up and we got to see the Osborne Christmas lights for the first time. As far as resort's go,it would be tough to pick since there all good in there own way. We stayed at POR this past trip and loved it. I think they have one of the best food courts on property.
