Well, I've been lurking, and thought I would give this a try as I can drop a bundle in just a morning on my way home from work. I've done well except for Monday. I am not counting needed groceries, but trying to not impulse buy, and don't count bills paid. Feb 1st - $85 for repair of DS laptop (very reasonable). Have not spent anything other than groceries. THEN, Stopped at Target on the way home from work on Monday. (Danger,Danger) Bought a booster chair for DGS that I babysit for and a toy for him as well, and then to WW where I just HAD to have the new books with the new point values in them. Grand total $95.00 Not bad for 2 hours out. I better stay home the rest of the week.LOL. I guess some people call it "Retal therapy". Well, keep trying and see where we end up at the end of the month.

Today was a bad day. Nothing really went right, except that I got this 0 spend day. In a world where you cannot control things, its nice to be able to control something. :-)

MickeyMom I forgot to tell you that I am glad you are taking up bowling! I think you two will love it, and spending time together is priceless. Hope you are 100% better by then- the ball might start feeling a little heavy for you by the 3rd game. :-)

Sorry for your bad day. Hope things are better today. I am excited about the bowling. We have said for years we wanted to but seeing you post about it got me more and more interested so we went for it. We are doing the every other week one to keep costs down, and to see if we like it. I don't know if I have ever bowled 3 games before, we usually just do 2, so that will be interesting. I bet my 3rd game will be a much lower score, but we are just doing it for the fun. (And time alone isn't a bad thing.)

Evidently getting a "fatal error" message when you try to post something doesn't mean your post gets lost; it means it gets double posted!

:lmao: Been there! Not too often but a few times that has happened and even though it has happened before I forget and double post. :rolleyes1

3- took a friend visiting from Florida out for lunch $22.87, went to Dollar Tree for hash browns but got my DH his favorite cookies instead since they had no hash browns $5.00, ended up at Lowes for hash browns $1.99
4- $12.00..out for lunch with another friend
5- $0
6- $0
7- $0
8- $0 ( to be fair..I did buy a plane ticket for DH's trip to join me after Expo next year, but that wasn't an optional purchase and money came from trip account..I'm only counting optional things, food and gas, not things that are locked in stone)
9- Big spending day! DH medicine and gas: $20, groceries: $39, Leapfrog site,,they still have some DIDJ stuff on clearance and I bought DGS a Didj for Christmas and he loves it so needed to get stuff before it totally disappears, plus a charger to save on batteries, so $53, and DH had to buy materials to replace the pad to our bedroom carpet that got ruined during the big stupid freeze/thaw we had, so $166 ACK Coupons, $2.50

I'm going to start keeping track of a new streak -- days without eating out. I can't stand cooking, so it's far too easy for me to call DH and have him bring home take out. Luckily, we live so far in the middle of nowhere that there isn't a single place that will deliver. We're at 8 days without eating out! That might be a record for DH and me for the entire time we've been together!
:cool1: Way to go. My big problem is usually ate breakfast and lunch out during the week. I love to cook. I was just being lazy and not packing my food. On average it cost me btwn. $5-$10 a day for my laziness. Now for everyday I don't eat out I put at least $5 into our coin jug. I have also started to put the extra SS$ the government is giving us back. I pay myself every Friday when I get paid. I'll have to go back and try to calculate how much I've put in so far.

I'm back on board. Feb should be a money maker for me. I make/sell Valentine's Day candy. I'm readjusting my goals from last month

02/03 -0-:cheer2:Made it into work today..But, still a no spend day. I cooked so much over the past 2 days that I have tons of food to eat. Plus, there was no time to spend money. Today starts my DD's theater productions for the weekend.

We had a gc we forgot about. . The only reason we spent so little this weekend was we just didn't have time to do anything. DD had 5 theater performances in 4 days. We're all exhausted. She did such an amazing job. But, sure am glad it's over.
02/07 -0-:cheer2:
02/08More snow today:eek: Spent $54.00 at Super Walmart on groceries. I saved $22. in coupons I take my DBFF to do her grocery shopping. Today was her monthly BIG trip. This was our first trip to SWalmart (other than the ones in FLA). It isn't close. But, so worth it. Now that we are shopping together I am trying to teach her how to coupon. I think she's slowly getting it. We also went out to lunch. Paid -0- she and one of her friends that came with us bought my lunch for taking them.
02/09 $18.00 in hospital caf food. There was a family emergency and spent the day and night at the hospital.
02/10 By 6:00am I had already spent $6.00 on juice, bagel, and a fruit cup Hospital caf food is outrageously expensive. I'm back home to shower and to pack up food to bring back up to the hospital.

Have a blessed day everyone! Bye the way, do any of you "Dave Ramsey"? I am just using the envelope idea. Just starting. Every dollar has a name, seems like an awesome mantra!

I won a $25 gift card to a lovely garden store, so that was nice--entering local contests is becoming a new hobby.

Pacing myself with the no-buy, but really struggling with the "should we buy a new house or stay put" thing. Looking at one tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. The houses we like sell like hotcakes b/c they are in the two best school districts, despite the economy. I don't like to feel rushed with this type of thing. Wish I had a crystal ball...

I think I'm only good at saving money, not spending it. Oh well.
