All right everybody...I am officially over our cancelled October trip (darn you Ivan), and am now in full planning mode for our rescheduled trip, tentitively February 25-March 5.

Because this is a COMPLETELY different season different weather issues are beginning to pop up:

#1. Is it too cold to do any of the water rides? Like Splash Mountain or Rapids in AK? How have you guys dealt with this in the past? Not so concerned about this for adults, but obviously am worried about DD who will then be 4.

#2. I know they have little water things in Epcot for the kids (who am I kidding...my DH and I will be running through those things like idiots trying NOT to harm small children...JK) and Donald's boat is supposed to be a blast. Are these running in the winter months? Is it too cold for the kids to really participate? I was planning on packing her bathing suit in our "park backpack". Should I bother?

#3. We are staying off site and I am in the process of checking to see if the pool is heated or not. Do Southern Floridians swim in these months? Should we pack our bathing suits?

I obviously want to get the FULL Disney experience, but without a dash of the whole pneumonia experience. Any suggestions or advice? Would really appreciate it!

This time of year can go any way, weather wise. But you'll probably have a couple very nice days. Last Feb., when we were there, DS swam every night, after the parks. The Disney pools are all heated. There will be 1 water park open. They leave one open while they rehab the other, in winter months. Most of the water rides will be open, they don't shut down unless it's a scheduled rehab. You will need all kinds of clothes, in the winter. Some days will be shorts weather, other days you'll need sweatshirts and maybe a coat at night.

I agree with the above poster... the weather can go either way. It can be in the 80's one day and chilly the next. We have gone the past 3 years in Jan/Feb and my son (now 4) has always swam (in heated pools). Definatly check if your offsite hotel has a heated pool. It is a must at this time of year. Last year, our resort had a heated and unheated pool, the unheated pool was freezing!
As far as the water rides go, we have always done them this time of year. Bring a poncho for your daughter and a change of clothes for if she does get wet.
